A deep, guttural laugh left his lips. “Trying? You give me too little credit, my Turian friend. Let’s not start this again. I’d hate to embarrass you.” 

"I'm afraid that's all the credit you deserve, Vega!  You're trying, but you're not succeeding."  Garrus laughed at first, but then it was cut off abruptly due to the comment about him being embarrassed.  He narrowed his eyes and fronted a serious tone, "Embarrass me?  The last thing on my mind is embarrassment.  Go ahead, James, tell me...what makes you better than me?"

Her eyes floated across from Garrus and settled on some paneling, she stared at it momentarily, thinking. The galaxy was at risk of falling into complete destruction and here she wished that life could at least be semi-normal. As normal as space travel could be, that is. Avery enjoyed the nonstop action, but sometimes it became overbearing. She could sleep when she was dead, there’s too much going on to take too much time to rest. Granted, she’s a hypocrite for telling Steve that he needed R&R, but at the same time the entire galaxy wasn’t depending on his actions. Avery closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, “Chai tea.” She laughed afterward, looking back up at Garrus. “That sounds so good right now.”

"Chai-tea?"  It took a moment for Garrus to register what Chai-Tea was, remembering that Shepard was from Earth.  It must have been some type of relaxing human drink.  "Well, Avery, I'm not gonna promise it'd be the best tea in the galaxy coming from a Turian, but I'm willing to try."  He laughed softly, stepping back towards the sliding doors behind him and towards the hall that lead up to the main battery.  "I could have Sergeant Gardener help me out, that is unless you wanted to lend me a hand instead.  Otherwise, I suggest you head to the lounge...or your cabin...take a load off and relax.  No work for you tonight, Shepard.  That's the last thing I want on your mind!"  His eagerness was quite obvious, wishing for nothing more than for his commander to feel like she was normal at least for a night.  

Shepard roved a critical eye over his friend, arms crossed and posture relaxed. He pursed his lips in mock thought as he hand rubbed along his cheek. “Hm, well… both, really,” answered the human with a grin. “If you can keep up, Garrus.”

"Now, Shepard....You should know better than to challenge me like that, because I am not a Turian that sits back and lets someone else win once they do!"  He let out a laugh and tapped the left side of his mandible in thought.  "How should we settle this?"  It was then that he got a sly look in his eye and a smirk crossed his features.  "Maybe we should see who's the best shot in the galaxy, you know...just to prove my reign once again!"
