irritating as fuck when people get mad at Black people existing in premodern historical fiction/fantasy media. like first of all, you're racist. and second of all, you are acting as though Black people didn't exist in premodern Europe which is simply false. especially when we're talking about the Mediterranean, like what the fuck do you people think is along the southern half of the Mediterranean Ocean?? everyone's on boats, there are GOING to be interactions with Black people in Northern Africa, and there are GOING to be Black people in Mediterranean Europe. stop being stupid. your imagined homogeneous white European past is not historical reality, get over it you massive losers
Thank you entertainment industry ( mainly tv and movies) for brainwashing people to think POC didn't exist unless slavery or colonization was brought up.

Flowey and the 7 httyd class systems:
Astrid in RTTE episode 6 season 6 pisses me off.
Why is she comparing her and Hicupps relationship to Dagur and Malas when their relationship has NEVER been the same as theirs???
Why is she upset that Hiccup isn't being someone he has NEVER been??? Why is she upset he was acting the way he has ALWAYS been??? She knew what she was getting into with a relationship with him. Like it was said, multiple times, they have known each other for YEARS.
Like. I'm not saying she can't be upset about things in their relationship, I'm just saying, she knew that was who he was and accepted that as the person she was going to be in a relationship with.
He's always been dragon obsessed. Of course he fucking noticed the dragon eye lense on the Armor Wing. He's Hiccup! It's who he is! When it comes to noticing things about dragons, Hiccup is pretty quick. When it comes to noticing things about people? Not so much. Especially considering he spent most of his life mostly only positively interacting with Gobber. Of course he's gonna notice things easier when it comes to dragons, after Gobber, they were the first positive interaction he had. Before being able to positively interact with the other riders and people in the village.
I mean this is just fuel on why I don't think they work together as a romantic relationship. If writers wanted a romantic relationship then they could have done better with the writing.

you've heard of "quiet quitting," now I'd like to introduce you to the next level, The French Work Ethic:
Do exactly what you're paid for and nothing more
Absolutely refuse to be available to contact when you're off the clock
Never prioritize work over your own health, wellbeing, or family because that would be insane, it's just a job.
Have a little glass of wine
Take as long as you feel like for lunch
Deeply understand that work doesn't matter
Make sure your boss your boss knows they're always your second priority ❤️
🗣️ Hey, young Americans:
Old Millennial American speaking here. I need you to adopt this mentality as early as possible and hold to it. The older you get, the harder it is to begin this practice and claw back the extremely unhealthy effects of a workaholic lifestyle. I am speaking from 20 years of experience.
This does not mean having a shitty attitude at work, or not doing your job, or relying on co-workers to carry your water.
This means you do what it says above. It also means not making work and productively your entire personality; not tying your productivity to your value; and not becoming so emotionally enmeshed in your work and workplace so that you are living and dying by what happens there.
Good luck out there. American workplace culture is mostly designed to work you to death. Moving against that tide can be challenging, so having a healthy mindset is important to living a life not consumed by your paid labor.
French here,
While this is the gist of our work ethics, we sometimes need to be reminded of that ourselves.
Older generations were a bit like making work their priority in some fields.
But now? Yeah, we tend to not give a damn about emails after hours or calls after hours.
Companies could get in trouble for that. Unless you have something in your contract telling you you can be on call, companies aren't allowed to expect you to answer yout phone/answer emails out of work hours.
But anyway, we usually don't answer our phones or emails after hours. It's called the "Droit de deconnexion" (right to disconnect). Home is home, work is work.
By law, lunch breaks could be 20 minutes long but in reality it's 45 minutes minimum.
The month of May is also one of the months we take the most vacations. There are holidays when we don't work, and when it's in the middle of the week, (like the holiday is on a tuesday or a thursday), you can take a day off (monday/friday) to get a nice extra long weekend
Why? Well, why not? And as we get 25 vacation days, we have to take them between june 1st and may 31st. Other than thzt they are lost. So people strategically take them.
If you have pto, take it, you earned it. TAKE. IT.
Does it makes us lazy? Maybe some think that. But I don't care. I'll take that over anything
You all know this classic fantasy trope that dragons love sleeping on gold. But Toothless sleeps on runes 😝
I truly enjoyed the process of drawing without lineart, doing almost everything in a single layer. It reminds me of working with gouache. Feels so painterly 🎨
Hiccup redesign anybody?
you deserve people who listen to you ramble. you deserve people who love it when you’re excited, when you’re happy. you deserve people who check up on you and wish to see you well, people who not only accept you for who you are - but rejoice in it.

Hiccup and Buffstrid in the art style of Disney Hercules? Always wanted that!
Had to go with this scene bc Astrid finding Hiccup in the cove just fit super well to the Megara and Hercules scene.
