do y'all even know how much i hate being an "elder queer" at 40? a whole goddamn generation before me was wiped out by a plague that politicians deemed not their problem bc it was killing the "right" people. like. this was OPENLY STATED. i spent a large chunk of my childhood going to funerals. nevermind the fact that killing queer people for being queer wasn't codified into law as a hate crime until i was a junior in high school.

i should NOT be an elder queer, i should be middle at most. i am a middle aged queer. most of the elder queers died.

when i was growing up i didn't go to pride parades, i went to pride marches. because that's 100% what they were in the 80s and 90s.

from the absolute bottom of my heart, LEARN OUR FUCKING HISTORY. a generation was nearly wiped out so you young queers could be here. don't let that have been in vain, please.

the queer community was formed by people who were deemed strange and abnormal in society based on them not conforming to expectations about sexuality & gender. there are no specific boundaries bc this isn't a club. a cishet guy that likes wearing dresses who fights side by side with us for true liberation, is 100x more queer than a millionaire gay man who's besties with companies that sell us watered down versions of our own culture for profit during pride while donating to homophobic lawmakers every other month.

i'm gonna say this again because it really pissed some people off: yes, I would rather have a cishet GNC man who stands with queer people, is involved in our spaces and our culture, stands up for us when we are attacked, and is active in furthering queer liberation, than a rich gay man who spits on the lower-class queers who gave him the ability to be out, who sells his soul to corporations who couldn't give less of a shit about us, just for the wealth and power of capitalism. Fuck that guy. I'm not saying he isn't gay - he is! Nothing can take that away! But we have the saying "not gay as in happy but queer as in fuck you" for a reason. The family-friendly gay millionaire isn't my brother. The poor crossdresser who has been a part of this community since it's inception is. Fuck your bootlicking bullshit.

Good morning from Kansas and a record breaking December for warm temperatures! We may be close to 80° F tomorrow, Christmas Eve! Regardless, I have time off for the holiday, and I am enjoying it the best way I know, and that is en femme! I am wearing the 3rd dress I ever bought for myself four years ago to wear out in Kansas City. But then I found Missie B's tended to be more casual, and wishing to blend I did not wear it. As you may have noticed I am far past that now, heehee, and I would definitely wear it clubbing now. I believe I have only worn it twice here at home since buying it. Anyway, I felt it is a suitable holiday dress as well so here it is. Once again trying to work with my natural hair so I have a bit of a wild look again. Just looking to enjoy life, and I wish the same for all of you over this festive season! ❤❤❤
