Maekar who is a soldier at heart. Who has raised one son who hates horses and swords and pain, and instead drinks himself into oblivion running from dreams his father cannot understand. Who has a dragon of a second son. One who can win jousts and duels and has the look of house Targaryen that Baelor doesn't have. That Baelor's sons dont have. Who might be the one to be better than them, who can prove Maekar's worth.

Aerion who feeds on attention and praise. Who needs to be the best, the strongest and cruellest, the most beautiful and revered because he is the dragon given human form. A boy who can see the way his father dismisses his elder brother, who finds himself the complete centre of Maekar's world view and sees in that a sense of validation. That his cruelty is his strength, that he was born to burn others because it comes so naturally to him, and his father praises him nonetheless.

I'm just in love with the collapse of it all. Maekar 'punishing' Aerion by sending him to Lys. He only cares to see Aerion's darker nature once it has effected him. Once he has killed his brother, who he loved as much as he envied, and Aerion has publically lost a fight to a hedge knight. Who perhaps thinks he if offering up a light punishment.

And Aerion who is suddenly cut off from that constant stream of praise and attention. Who doesn't see the 'kindness' of Lys, but instead watches his father shift the moniker of the favoured son from his head without so much as a second thought, who sends him away. Who perhaps cannot fathom which element of the trial secured him this rejection. Perhaps he needs to be stronger, fiercer, so next time even a man like Dunk doesn't stand a chance. He needs to become the dragon in truth. Who can't understand why Maekar is torn up over Baelor's death when his uncle fought against him and betrayed their family. He was always expected to be better than the heirs line, but now its a problem that his father won that brotherly fight?

Aerion's scale-less worm: Stormscaler

Stormscaler isn't even officially a 'dragon' Cast out from a failed clutch of eggs storm scaler crawled around the caves scavenging left overs.

Rhaenyra: starts out as a girlboss capitalist centrist dem but slowly starts to be influenced by her commie girlfriend (not really it's just for the optics)

Daemon: thinks he invented libertarianism. Capitalism was the way of life god intended and that’s why he broke up with his radical commie girlfriend who’s now dating the niece he groomed

Mysaria: the commie girlfriend in question. Would rig a free and fair election tho

Alicent: trad wife who’s been voting republican her whole life because her dad-husband told her to. Socialism is kind of appealing to her and then she gets disgusted with herself for thinking government handouts are okay and repents

Aegon: voted for trump for his economic policies but can’t name one. Says he doesn’t do really politics he just wants to smoke shitty weed and harass women in peace

Aemond: hyper nationalist who got radicalized online. Also randomly a royalist despite living in a democratic system. Lonely because everyone on twitter just wants to bitch about diversity on tv instead of arguing about Nietzsche

Helaena: doesn’t vote but she’s crunchy and spiritual and anti establishment enough that her lefty friends forgive her for this

Corlys: true venture capitalist. Will vote for whoever as long as his stocks and company shares don’t take a hit in the market

Viserys: normie fiscal republican who loves his woke daughter and is fairly reasonable enough that it almost makes you forget his second wife is a teenager

Otto: intellectual republican who pretends to adhere to christian morality just so he can secure the evangelical vote

Larys: opportunist who will just play both sides. has a Peter Thiel technocrat figure he follows around like a eunuch

Cole: weird catholic who is genuinely afraid of going to hell if he votes for an elected official who supports gay marriage. Not even trying to own the libs he's just in active psychosis

Jace: rich liberal kid who plays lacrosse at a boarding school where it’s faux pas to say homophobic slurs
