Hey does anyone know any great resources for someone who wants to start weaving? Been considering a rigid heddle loom (both bc price and space, mainly), but I think I need more than just a bunch of random YouTube videos lmao

In hindsight being a “gifted kid” is so funny. You have substantial difficulties with socializing and fine motor skills, but we’re going to ignore that because you’re really good at reading chapter books

I picked up a cross stitch kit and an embroidery kit while shopping with my mom yesterday bc I struggle a bit with my fine motor skills. Idk if it’s always been a problem or if the joint pain and stiffness has made it worse but mom said that something like this would be good for being creative and also working on those skills

I did like a third of the cross stitch kit yesterday and while it was a little frustrating at times, I def got hyperfixated on it lmao. Idk yet if it’s just the adhd “new hobby!!!!!!!” right now or if it’ll actually be something I enjoy doing. Idk if I’ll like cross stitch better or embroidery since my understanding is that cross stitch is a bit more structured (it’s v specific placement of the thread and whatnot) and embroidery has more freedom for how to make the pictures

#I guess it was a bit of a problem when I was a kid bc I struggled with tying my shoes #still don’t like tying shoelaces but I can do it if I have to #I lost a LOT of creative drive after getting sick so finding anything to be creative with is good for me #and I’m worried about my chronic illness getting worse and losing my mobility in the future #I’m nowhere near that yet but it’s a worry since it’s an undiagnosed autoimmune thing

Gotta love being chronically ill and undiagnosed. Like bitch I know something is very wrong with me and my body but it’s so frustrating having to deal with the doctor not really. Doing anything. I’m about to take shit into my own hands and pay out the ass to get a separate blood panel done bc I’m so fucking sick of being sick. Anyone looking at my history can tell that my immune system fucking sucks and barely works.

Like yeah I can FUNCTION but it’s not normal for a 30yo to be always sick and always hurting in some way!!!!!!! I shouldn’t have to “push through it” every fucking day to get some relief that never fucking comes!!!!!

#I’ve had a sinus infection off and on for over a month and this happens every year #not to mention I’ve been hospitalized multiple times in the last 5 years due to my immune system just deleting really important cells #try living on 1/3rd of the red blood cells you need to function #or without any platelets #on top of numerous infections #the only time I’ve felt GOOD was when I was on steroids to clear out the fuckin symptoms I got from the antibiotics #sapph's personal crap #chronic illness #I have a pretty big hunch of what it could be but #‘oh your ANA came back negative! nothings wrong with you :)’#negative tests are unhelpful. my immune system has been trying to kill me and yet ‘nothings wrong :)’#I feel so bad for my partner since he has to deal with me complaining constantly #and when he suggests going to the dr I can tell he gets frustrated that I usually say no #bc I know they won’t do shit!!!!#like I’ve got a horrible sore throat rn and he’s telling me to go to the dr if it doesn’t get better #but like. what are they going to do?#give me an overpriced Tylenol?

If I ever share anything that was AI generated it is purely by accident. I hate that it's getting harder and harder to tell and it makes me want to never use the internet again. It definitely had its faults, but man I miss the internet of the 2000s so much.

On Saturday I said to my partner, as I have said for months, "A ten thousand dollar a year raise would solve so many of my problems."

As of this morning I was reluctantly looking for jobs because I love my job and don't want to leave it, but see: $10k raise problem solver.

As of noon today this was no longer an issue, because my boss called me with the news that I was getting a $10K merit raise.

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. This is roughly $200 extra per paycheck. Enough to pay off debt faster, rebuild my savings, and spend a weekend a month in Milwaukee getting obscenely laid. The sex I'm going to have on $200 extra per paycheck. You can't even.

May all of you get the $10K raise your soul has yearned for. And whatever level of sex you can be satisfied with for $200.

Unpopular opinion I guess: Dawntrail was overall good, actually.

Maybe someday I’ll sit down and write about how awesome the themes brought up are. “To know is to love. To be known is to be loved.” Not to mention the themes of learning and family and death and grief that are throughout the whole expansion.

#if people didn’t like it that’s fine #it’s fine to have a personal opinion #but just bc someone disliked something it doesn’t mean that thing is automatically shit #idk why people can’t just say that it wasn’t their cup of tea and move on #tastes change over time #maybe your tastes have changed since EW #or maybe the game is just going in a new direction and people just hate change #either way I think it’s disingenuous to say that ffxiv is dying bc SE shot themselves in the foot with the story #personally I loved the story about learning about others and I enjoyed my WOL taking a back seat for once and playing a mentor figure #my takeaway was that to know each other is to love each other #and to be known is to be loved #were there pacing issues?? yeah but EW had the same problems and so did HW and StB and ARR #ShB is debatable but I think it suffered a bit from the pacing being TOO fast #also like it’s the patch cycle lmao EW patches were quiet too #people’s memories are super short lmao this same song and dance was done before DT too #am I taking a break from the game myself? yeah but that’s bc if I forced myself to play all the time then I’d burn out #I did the same thing last time #ffxiv is a game that has waves of people getting online to play. I started playing during 6.2 so I’m not sure about past patch cycles but #I bet you it was this way back then too #if you’ve fallen out of love with the game then cancel your subscription and find a new game that suits your tastes #does SE deserve to hear genuine criticism? yeah but I think people should stop framing it like the game is dead #idk I’m rambling at this point lmao #I’ve got my own criticisms about how certain things were handled but it didn’t ruin the experience for me #what DID ruin my experience was the other players who derailed normal content by complaining so much in chat
