Sometimes, success does not mean getting the prize, but understanding why you didn't.
Lessons I learned by 22 | Entry 1 | Surrender
As a control freak, moving fully from one step to another bears great weight. Despite a bent back, a heavy heart, and a pair of tired eyes, there is minimal progress, which feels depressing. I started to hate people for their inability to laser focus, to cut their edges as straight as I do. I viewed people as inefficient, not up to the standards, and in turn it birthed to hatred and agony in a place no one can pull me out, except one thing — acceptance.
To realize that some things are out of control is an anchor out of the abyss of loathing and worry. There may be an instinct to fully polish everything because we intend them to display as trophies in the future, but in truth, not everything that shines tells more than other shabby proofs of our experience of hardship. Sometimes, success does not mean getting the prize, but knowing better why you didn't. Acceptance of what is is difficult, but it is the only way forward.
