As we all know that without Adobe's Flash there is no entertainment in world wide web. Adobe's Flash is now a must have if your are viewing some top websites or social networks. In case of Operating systems, not everyone has a out-of-the-box support for flash we need to get some packages (binaries) . My latest OS is OpenSUSE 11.4 , after a successful install of the same. I turned up the browser (firefox) and not to my surprise, flash was not working as usual. Then i downloaded flash binary from the Official Adobe's site ( flash-plugin-XXXX.rpm). Then installed it using command:

$ sudo rpm -i flash-plugin-xxx.rpm

This package was successfully installed but the flash still didn't work.

Then i opened the browser again and searched for it, but didn't come to a conclusion. Now, after this heck i hit ' software.opensuse.org ' . Searched for the string ' flash ' in the software packages. It returned a search item ' flash-player' . Then , i downloaded the given rpm ' flash-player-XXX.rpm ' .

Opened Terminal and typed the following :

$ sudo rpm -iv flash-player-xxx.rpm

And finally we have the flash objects working in openSUSE 11.4.

I was just a piece of cake. I know you'd say this.

You could also use the in-built package manager to install this. Just enter the command given below:

$ sudo zypper install flash-player

This will download and install the package from the respective repository.
