“I’m not saving, i’m just being honest. I’m not some insatiable man that is lusting over every woman I see” he jokingly defended. “It’s just that thing of being an inconvenience to someone, i get in my head about it that i’m in someone’s way and then it leads to me not really being able to relax and i end up on edge the whole time” he tried to explain, because it truly had nothing to do with Adelaide in another situation he would probably happily crash with her. “It’s not that i feel like i have to, i think it’s time. Alot of people i care about are out here and i’m visiting a ton so it only makes sense to put down some roots. It’d be nice to have a space of my own instead of just hotel rooms when i’m out here. I’m thinking a nice place in the hills, a pool, something chill that i can have people over”.

“Are you a horrible guest or something? because you know if I thought you were a inconvenience I would never of invited you in the first place.” She nodded as she listened to him “ that makes sense, you seem to have it figured out, I am sure you will find something great” sipping on her drink her eyes went around he place smiling at everyone who seemed to have a good time “regardless I hope you will have a great time and make yourself at home during the time you are here. I if anyone is really happy you made it!”

“I think i prefer my current company, so i’m good” he had come to see her afterall, though he did see a few people he’d have to say hey to at some point he didn’t see a reason to not hang out with the birthday girl. “It was super nice of you to offer, but I’m just weird about that stuff. My brother offers to let me stay at his place in the city from time to time and i don’t. I always have this fear of being an inconvenience” it was something that had been with him as long as he could remember. “I never committed to the states, I come out for auditions when i need to but—” it sounded so cocky to say but it was true “most things these day are offer only so i don’t have to show up for an audition that often. But I think there’s alot of great things here in La, getting to see you more often wouldn’t be a bad thing”. 

“Smooth save” she spoke as she sipped on her drink “ do I even want to ask why you are weird about it?” the girl found herself a place to sit patting the seat beside her. Adelaide moved to LA when she was seventeen, but it was often she heard a lot of Australians not really wanting to settle there “ I am a rare egg then and there for sure is, but I mean you could do that without having to have a home, I don’t think you should force yourself to move somewhere just to be closer to stuff you know, my advice would always be don’t move here because people want you to, you need to want it yourself”

“Anytime there are beautiful woman it’s a better night in my opinion. And bikini’s just make that even better” he glanced around for a moment but his eyes returned to Adelaide after a few moments. “Well, I ended up getting a hotel but i have a good reason. Because the day after tomorrow is my birthday I’d feel weird about crashing in your spare room for several days. I’m certain you would have been okay with it but still. However good news i’m planning on possibly finding a place of my own so that i can spend a bit more time in LA”.

“Well you  got plenty of them so “  the girl spoke grabbing another drink from the bar. “Oh that is fine, I thought I would offer since you would be here for free, but I get it its cool, “she was slightly confused with Chris. With the way he had flirted with her on text and previously she would think hed be more excited to be here or thought he was looking forward to spending the night at her place. She decided to shrug it of. “ it honestly surprise me that you don’t already have a place”

“Then let’s get a drink, we’re celebrating your birth afterall!” he said letting his hand reach out to the small of her back and gently move a step toward the bar with her. “I thought i made myself fairly clear—the water is fun—but the company is what makes it better” he figured there was no danger in flirting off the bad, it was fairly innocent afterall. “It wasn’t bad, a bit long but not too bad. I’ve gotten used to that flight because i’ve taken it probably 100 times at this point. Slept for a good chunk of it but also got to watch some shows i had downloaded that i was behind on”. 

“Then you are in luck, there are plenty of lovely ladies in bikinis here today, it is just to take a pick in the litter. “ she was teasing him. She figured she was not the only girl he was flirting with. “Are you planning on staying here or have you gotten yourself another place?” she girl asked knowing she had offered her guest room to him during the stay in LA. She could imagine he had a lot of friends to see and places to go. 

Ade: oh sure i can do that

Sof: i was thinking italian, mostly cause i'm craving spaghetti right now lol

While he hadn’t flied back just for Adelaide’s party it was certainty one of the factors because she had become someone he quite liked to be around and he liked to always be there for his friends. His birthday was just two days later, so it was an easy two birds and one stone type of trip. He glanced around giving a few people a small nod and greeting them, recognizing a few people that he had known and making a bit of small talk. As Adelaide approached him he met her halfway and wrapped his arms around her. “I don’t really fuck with friends like that. If i say i’m going to be somewhere i make it happen, you said you wanted me to come so i did” he was the type of person that would jump through any number of hoops for those he cared about. “You look stunning tonight”. 

“Thank you” the girl smiled towards the taller male.” There is free drinks by the bar and food and we even got a pool, can be good for you since you love water so much” even if Ade would spend the whole party just speaking to Chris to be honest, as bad as that sound, but he was one of the few that seemed interested to have a conversation with her lately that didn’t seem to pointless or meaningless. The girl kept greeting a few people who came up to say hello to her and wish her  happy birthday. She easily returned her attention to the older Aussie again “ did you have a good flight ?”

olly: don’t you dare, let people virtually snog me if they wanna.

olly: aw i can understand that. though no time to go big than 30, yeah?! has it been a fun day?
