A natural flirt, has a penchant for drawing attention and attracting others to her in nearly every setting. Most of the time, it’s intentional and exactly her desired effect.

“The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh,” Emmie said as she showed off the cover, “If you want you can read it. I brought 8 books to the island figuring that I would be able to get through them all before I got voted off. Though with how much free time I had, I’ve now gotten through them all.” 

❝ hmm, don’t think i’ve heard of it. what’s it about ?? ❞ she inquired, glancing at the cover before quirking a brow at the other. ❝ you’ve gone through eight books since you’ve been here ?? i’m not sure what’s more impressive... that you smuggled in that many or that you’ve already read that many. ❞

“addy i’m serious!!“ she protested, fists clenched at her sides as she stared up at the blonde, though her own barely-contained giggles sure didn’t make it seem that way. “this is going to be so hard. everyone is too hot, it’s impossible.” if val sounded exasperated, it’s because she was. she was exhausted just thinking about the willpower this would require if she really wanted to follow through on her intentions. “it’s a gift, hotstuff. and a practical suggestion. a way to kill some of the down time around here…”

❝ i know ya are and i personally can’t wait to witness this bloody train wreck, ❞ she deadpanned unsuccessfully with a boop to the shorter woman’s nose, as a wide grin tugged at her features. ❝ please tell me this wasn’t your own idea of a good idea. i think ya would’ve had better luck joining a convent, val. ❞ addy snickered thoroughly enjoying that thought. she’d give val half a day with the nuns before they ran her out, possibly with holy water for good measure. still giggling at the thought, she rolled her eyes. ❝ don’t be a drongo, mate. been there, done that, and that can happen anywhere -- how often do you get the chance to explore a remote island ?? ❞ sure the pretty people were nice but the island itself was what the blonde was currently looking most forward to.

Violet smiled as the other spoke. It wouldn’t be such a bad idea to learn how to survive out here. She hardly did anything remotely close to this growing up so she’d take any tips she could get. “I’d like that. I think it would be a good skill to have around here.” She watched Addy, listening to her intently. “That sounds nice. I mean, having your dad teaching you so much from a young age.” She chuckled. “Yeah, here we are. So, looks like you’ll probably adjust nicely. Is that what made you want to join?” 

❝ defo, at the very least you’ll never go thirsty on a tropical island. ❞ or hungry but living strictly on coconuts didn’t sound that ideal to addy unless she was desperate. thankfully, they had a range to pick from here. ❝ i cherish that time with him but i’ve always lived in the city so it never felt pivotal. until now, ❞ she chuckled softly. as a city girl it wasn’t like she had to do a lot of fending for herself in the bush and moving to la erased that need completely. ❝ the survival aspect ?? no, that’s just a plus. they drew me in with the finding love spiel. as silly as the idea of finding it on a reality show is, my job doesn’t give me a lot of time to seriously look so i figured why not. what about you ?? ❞

“i came here to improve my public reputation,” she said, as if to remind herself, as much as explain to the person across from her. “but it’s going to be very difficult to do that if i try to, and/or successfully fuck, like, everyone on this island.” it turns out when america’s sweetheart gets filmed having an inebriated ménage à trois (or quatre or sinq — she honestly couldn’t recall) with people that aren’t her then-husband, and that video is subsequently released online, america starts to turn on its sweetheart pretty quickly. joining the show was supposed to give valerie the opportunity to redeem herself, show the world who she was as a person and that she was capable of finding love and being a devoted, monogamous partner, in the hopes that her career might one day recover. how exactly was she supposed to do any of that when she desperately wanted to bone all of her shipmates ?? “you included… ”

addy couldn’t help but scoff softly at that, picturing anyone signing up for this show to improve their image was quite amusing. everyone knew the real reason people watched ‘reality’ shows, especially dating ones, drama; the messier the better. ❝ mate... ❞ the blonde trailed off, trying to hold back a giggle. she wasn’t surprised but the other certainly had her work cut out for her, the casting crew did a hell of a job this season. addy understood the struggle. rolling her eyes, she smiled despite herself. ❝ oh, val, you always say the sweetest things. ❞

Violet enjoyed the beach back at home. She’d go often to decompress after a long day or during her lunch break. Between the radio show and her own private office, she needed the comfort at the end of the day. Being here on this island would hopefully not be so bad and once the producers realized she isn’t reality romance material, Violet hoped she’d be sent back home.  Watching the woman, a small smile pulled at the corner of her lips. Violet was impressed. “I don’t think I’ve ever done anything as cool. You’ll come in handy here.” Taken aback with how friendly Addy was, Violet hesitated before taking the coconut into her hands with a nod. “Um, yeah. Sure. Thank you.” She took a sip of the water, really glad to have bumped into the blonde and returned it to the other. “Nice to meet you, Addy. So, you’ve done this more times than you can remember…how come?” Violet was genuinely curious. It was part of her job to ask the questions, get to know people so this was no different. Besides, the nice gesture had her attention. 

laughing softly, she shook her head. ❝ honestly it isn’t as difficult as ya’d think, ya just have to know where to hit it. i could teach ya if ya want. that’s the hope. ❞ the blonde grinned brightly. there was no reason this adventure couldn’t be fun for all of them. ❝ no worries, ❞ addy assured her, finishing off the water after it was handed back to her. rising back to her feet, she dropped the coconut and brushed her hands off on her shorts. ❝ likewise. oh, my dad was a survival instructor, he used to take me to the bush and outback heaps as an ankle-biter and taught me all kinds of crazy tricks like that. never thought i’d actually use them but here we are. ❞ they may not have come in handy the way he thought they would but right about now, she was glad for the lessons.
