Freddie: Hello, Adam. I'm sorry to bother you as usual
Freddie: I think I need help with something, and you are the only I trust to ask about this
Adam: Never a bother, my friend, as usual
Adam: Hello!
Adam: How can I help?
Freddie: thank you. I really appreciate it
Freddie: I wanted to ask what would be a good Christmas present
Freddie: I've never celebrated it before, and I have no idea what to get Cameron
Adam: Ah I see!
Adam: I'm sure you could give him a candy wrapper and he'd like it, but I know that's not the help you want
Adam: For me, a good Christmas present should be something that a) the person wants to have but wouldn't buy it for themselves or b) something that makes you think of them
Adam: There's a c) option too, but that involves getting them something that you think would make them happy or laugh or feel good, but then it's more complicated bc feelings are involved
Freddie: I have some ideas, but I would like to give him something that makes him happy
Freddie: I'm just not sure what would be a good thing
Adam: If you don't mind me asking, what do you think makes Cameron happy, Frederick?
Freddie: his job makes him happy
Freddie: when someone remembers something he said
Freddie: his brother and Trevor
Freddie: sex
Freddie: I've given him presents that made him smile a lot, but they were sex related
Freddie: I don't want this present to be
Adam: It seems like you remember a lot of things he's said
Adam: Do you want something more generic or personal? Because mugs are always a safe, generic option
Freddie: his mugs are terrible. I might get him one of those too
Freddie: are clothes too impersonal?
Adam: They really are terrible, did you see the "Daddy's Boy" one?
Adam: A bit, but it can always come threaded with meaning
Adam: As in the difference between a shirt like the ones he wears and shirt of a band he likes, or with a quote of a movie you both watched together
Adam: What are you thinking about?
Freddie: Yes! It's hideous
Freddie: I've noticed he likes ties
Freddie: and he usually wears lots of suits
Freddie: would that be too impersonal?
Adam: He has a sparkly one with "Team Edward" written that always ends up in my hand when I'm over, his sense of humor is something else
Adam: Oh that could be a good one!
Adam: I have the feeling he'd like to wear something he knows you picked specially for him
Freddie: ok that one was funny
Freddie: really?
Freddie: isn't that a very small present? Should I get him something else?
Adam: Looks like you both share the same questionable sense of humor then huh đ
Adam: There's no specific size a Christmas gift needs to have, most people just trade handmade Christmas cards, you know?
Adam: Do you want to give him something else?
Freddie: come on! You're a vampire! It's fitting
Freddie: you're nicer and cooler than Edward tho
Freddie: oh ok makes sense
Freddie: maybe I'll give him the tie and the mugs. Would that be ok?
Adam: I'll take the compliments đ thank you
Adam: It sounds like a fitting gift, yes!
Adam: I'm sure he's going to like it
Freddie: you're welcome
Freddie: ok. Good. Thank you, Adam
Freddie: I hope so.
Freddie: I'll think of a Christmas and thank you present for you too
Adam: Aw that's really sweet
Adam: We'll trade presents then!
Adam: Are you going to spend Christmas with your siblings?
Adam: Cameron won't be around, but you're more than welcome at Devon's and my table, if you'd like to join us
Freddie: that sounds very nice. Thank you
Freddie: I won't. I'll be working
Freddie: that is so nice to offer. Thank you
Adam: Damn capitalism
Adam: But no worries
Adam: Anything else I could help with?
Freddie: not all vampires celebrate Christmas
Freddie: no, that's all, thank you for all your help
Adam: I suppose that makes sense when you consider that some were born before it was a thing
Adam: You're very welcome, my friend
Freddie: exactly!
Freddie: thank you. You are a really good friend

Dev: I have a question đ
Dev: it probably might sound like it's coming out of the blue but it's something I've been wondering about
Dev: Have you always been a top?
Adam: Morning, love đ
Adam: Ask away
Adam: Not exactly
Adam: I've tried it a couple of times back when I was alive, but I can't say I've ever had a good experience bottoming for someone before
Adam: And then I have this bad habit of falling in love with people who like to bottom đ
Adam: Why do you ask?
Dev: morning đ
Dev: oh sorry to hear that
Dev: ouch! so if I wasn't a bottom you'd be ok with that too?
Dev: just curiosity cause someone texted me panicking cause their partner asked them to top when they have usually bottomed and they asked if you had asked me to before so I got curious
Adam: It was a long time ago
Adam: If you ever feel like topping me, all you have to do is ask, love
Adam: I'd be more than willing to bottom for you â¤ď¸ I just never thought it was something that interested you
Adam: ...Why do I feel like it was Cameron who got into your head?
Adam: Wait
Adam: Was it Frederick?!
Dev: I'm still sorry, you deserve all the god experiences
Dev: Dunno, I don't know if I could make it good for you, I don't wanna hurt you or disappoint you
Dev: I've never done it and well never was encouraged to either so
Dev: why do you assume my brother is a bottom!? đ¤Ł
Dev: You do realize I have two bottom friends right?
Adam: Then it'd be something new for the both of us
Adam: I don't want to pressure you into anything, anyways
Adam: But if you ever feel like that's something you'd like to do, we can try
Adam: Worst case scenario we laugh it off and order pizza đ
Adam: Well, because he's sleeping with Freddie, and Freddie has a big top energy đ
Adam: And I figured, with them being engaged and all, that Chris would've grown past that with Sebastian so far
Adam: But it's okay, you don't need to snitch on either of them, I get it đ
Dev: I would be willing to try it if it's something you really want to try and experience
Dev: that's true, he does have that vibe. It's kinda scary
Dev: you do realize my friends and I are from the "little shy, always bottoms team"? đ¤Ł
Adam: That's really sweet, love, though it's not something that picks my interest
Adam: But I also would be willing to try it if it's something you really want to try and experience
Adam: Between the two of us, though? He's a real softy, and he cares deeply for your brother
Adam: I'm starting to notice the pattern, yes lmao
Adam: The "little shy, always bottom and end up making my natural enemy fall in love with me" team
Adam: You, Chris and Seth
Dev: ok! then we don't have to change a thing. Our sex life is pretty awesome as it is đ¤Š
Dev: I have a hard time picturing anything soft about that guy
Dev: I'm glad he cares tho. Cam really cares about him
Dev: lmao! omg I had forgotten about that đ¤Ł
Dev: well in my case it wasn't on purpose!
Dev: Chris totally was XD
Dev: I'm not sure about Seth tho
Adam: I mean, I have no complaints â¤ď¸
Adam: We talk sometimes, since we have a lot in common
Adam: It's a weekly "How to be around a Fae Collins without jumping their bones" meeting đ
Adam: Lmao Chris really went out hunting for that Twilight love story huh? đ
Adam: In your defense, I fell in love with you and THEN turned into your enemy
Dev: Good! I'll be worried if you were and I'm always open to suggestions đ
Dev: I don't see how you could have something in common with him
Dev: lmao! We'll you don't have to keep yourself form jumping my bones. Like ever
Dev: he definitively did. He was completely gone when he met him
Dev: that is true! see? totally accidentally for us
Adam: Well, we both love a fae, for starters
Adam: Then there's the "I can't lose control around him, or he dies" thing
Adam: And the "just got back from the dead and can't feel a thing" thing
Adam: And he works at the bar I go to get supplies
Adam: And we both hate the other vampires in town
Adam: So it adds up lol
Adam: Accidentally or not, you're all part of the same club, love đ
Dev: wait a minute! Love? Freddie loves Cameron?
Dev: ok that is a thing
Dev: ok that's another one I hadn't considered
Dev: ok fine, you do have things in common with him
Dev: you don't hate Samuel tho, right?
Dev: lol ok, I am XD
Adam: Shit
Adam: Please don't tell Cameron I said that
Adam: I don't even think Frederick knows it himself, to be honest, but yes I believe so
Adam: Lmao, see? We have a lot in common
Adam: I don't, but Sam is always on thin ice đ
Adam: He told me the guys from his little gang are all scared of being near you and Cameron now, though, after Frederick's warning
Dev: I'm not gonna say anything. It would be bad if we tell him that and it ends up not being what he expects or how he expects it
Dev: Sam is really nice. I'm thankful he was there for you, or you wouldn't be here
Dev: that's a good thing right?
Adam: Freddie is still learning how love feels, but I'm sure he'll come around at some point. It just needs to be at his own pace
Adam: But in the meantime I can assure you your brother is in good hands
Adam: Sam is nice, yes, but he's taken to teasing me since he figured out I'm a day walker
Adam: So he knows how to be annoying as well
Adam: It is, it's a very good thing
Adam: I've found Freddie cares about Cameron's safety as much as I care about yours, so that's another thing we have in common
Dev: I can't even imagine how that would be
Dev: I'm glad to hear so
Dev: is that my fault? đ
Dev: but I'm sure he means well
Dev: thanks that's a good thing. We're both good taken care of â¤ď¸
Adam: Freddie was born as an adult, so he never learned how to feel things. It's hard to put those into words when you don't understand them
Adam: That is very much your fault, yes. Apparently you made me a mythological legendary being, according to Freddie
Adam: As long as I'm walking on this Earth, you'll be taken care of, love â¤ď¸
Dev: that's sounds so sad and lonely
Dev: well it makes sense cause I doubt other faes would let a vampire feed off of them
Dev: â¤ď¸ that's so sweet. I love you like a lot, you know that, right?
Adam: Exactly
Adam: But then Cameron came along, and you Fae Collins have just the way to make us feel things when we think we weren't able to anymore
Adam: Well, yes. We've been through this, you shouldn't be letting me feed off of you either
Adam: It's true, though
Adam: And I do know that, I thank the heavens every night for it â¤ď¸
Dev: I'm not gonna apologize for that either. I'm glad you do feel good things and I caused them
Dev: why not? It's all consensual so it's ok
Dev: you're the sweetest. Dunno what I did to deserve you
Adam: Never apologize for that, love. â¤ď¸
Adam: Because even if I love you, it's never 100% safe. It'd be wiser if you didn't let me, but I'm too selfish to refuse you
Adam: You existed, that's what you did â¤ď¸

My feelings are fatal
TIME: November 22nd, 2024 PLACE: Evergreen Graveyard BETWEEN: Adam ( @adamnvamp ) & Fredrick NOTES: Written on Discord.Â
Freddie wasn't sure why he had done this. It was always easier to talk to Adam through texts, but he lately realized that his words might be misunderstood through this via of communication and he didn't want any confusion about this. He sighed as he appeared himself at the cemetery, near a big tree where he could sense Adam's energy. He was carrying two thermoses, one with coffee and one with Adam's usual order at the blood bar. He smiled when he spotted the vampire. Outside. In daylight. He arched a brow as he got closer, "Daywalker uh? another perk of dating a fae?" he asked amused and curious as he handed the thermoses to Adam with a polite smile.
The sudden energy around the graveyard surprised him and Adam turned with a smile "Hello there" he waved, putting the rake he used to gather leaves to the side. "Day walker?" He questioned with a tilted head "Ah, because I'm out in the day? Yeah, it's- it's a nice perk. Takes the humans off your tail in no time if they ever get suspicious" he accepted the thermos. He wasn't really hungry, tasting Devon always left him energized anyway, but he knew sharing a drink was an important part of important conversations. "Please, have a seat" the vampire gestured to the bench, taking a seat himself "What has brought you in today?"
Freddie nodded, âitâs a term that has been use for centuries to name vampires who can walk in the daylight. Either by blood or demonic deals,â he explained wondering how much Adam actually knew of his own kind, âangelic and fae blood are the only ones who allow vampires not to be affected by the sun and holy water,â he added just as a fun fact, âoh that too, I always forget about humans and their suspicious,â he shrugged. He accepted the invitation as he sipped his coffee, âI realized that sometimes talking through texts doesnât give the right vibe and things can be taken out of contexts,â he started, âI would also like to ask for your discretion about this. I know you and Devon probably trust each other with everything, but this is something I donât want anyone else to know,â he continued.
Adam listened with interest, humming along "Oh I had no idea" he said, the angelic blood was a surprise "I'm not really into Vampiric history or politics, to be honest. I try to be on the verge of it, especially to keep Devon safe" the vampire said, excusing his ignorance. "Of course. I trust Devon with my life, but your secrets are yours to tell, Frederick. He doesn't know of the things we talk about" he shrugged "I'm assuming this is about Cameron?"
âMakes sense, the less you know the safer it is for him, but I think itâs important you know more about your kind. Especially about the things you can and canât do,â he suggested in a calmed tone, so Adam didnât feel judged. He nodded when Adam said he assumed it was about Cameron, âyes, and no, in the end is about me,â he sighed, âDo you remember we talked about how it is when we come back to life? The lack of feelings and their development? I mean, for you it was easier because you knew about feelings when you were human so you could relate and compare and understand when you were feeling that again, right?â he said looking at the thermos in his hands, âI donât have that advantage. I donât have anything to compare with, and in my head I separate physical feelings, like needs, from emotional ones,â he explained, âthe physical ones are easier to understand. Cold, warmth, tiredness, arouse, hunger, attraction, painâŚâ he listed some, âemotional ones are harder to decipher, especially cause me being what I am, Iâm more used and related to the negative ones. Anger, violence, hate, dislike⌠so itâs odd for me to feel things I donât quite understand, and I donât know what to do with that or how to act on those,â he sighed hoping he was making any sense.
"Oh, I'd love to learn, I just don't keep close contact with any other vampire for Dev's safety. But if you'd be willing, we could have a drink sometime and you can enlighten me with what you know" he smiled, showing he wasn't feeling judged, and at the same time, that it wouldn't be today. Today it was about Freddie. Adam listened carefully, sipping from his thermos. It tasted like warm stale coke after having Devon that morning, but what can you do? "Okay, I'm following" he said, nodding "You think there's some new, emotional feelings coming up?"
Freddie smiled, âI donât that much but Iâll be glad to share what I do know. Iâm pretty sure there are some books at the library I could point out for you to learn more about yourself,â he offered. âYes,â he said simply, âI know my siblings, Warren specially would know exactly what Iâm going through but the thing is that Warren has a way to get in peopleâs heads and business and I donât want him to do that with Cameron,â he said seriously with a small frown and then he sighed, âHow did you realize that you had feelings for Devon?â
"I'd like that" he said simply, nodding along to Freddie's words. "You're worried he'd make Cameron think he felt something he wasn't feeling?" Adam asked honestly, then paused, trying to put his memories into words. "Well, I knew I had feelings for him when I noticed that our sexual encounters weren't just sex anymore" he shrugged, a small smile on his lips "We started dating backwards, so at first we hooked up a few times. Then we spent more time together and... and at some point I realized I couldn't imagine my life without him anymore. Or I could, but it wouldn't be a life worth living" Adam paused again, trying to bring it to a more practical answer "There was this tightness in my chest, a very specific one. When I made him sad, it felt like a hand was squeezing my innards, but when I made him happy my organs seemed to grow so much they barely fit in my ribcage."
Freddie smile a little, keeping in mind some books he should bring to Adam next time they meet up. He shook his head at the question, âNo, Iâm worried he might make Cameron think Iâm feelings things Iâm not feeling yet,â he sighed, âWarren means well,â he added, âhe wants me to do well in this human thing but Iâm not a fast learner as he is. He moves quite faster through the motions. I havenât been in human form for thousands of years while itâs been the opposite for him so thatâs why itâs harder for me. He pushes a little too much as I imagine all older siblings do,â he huffed, âitâs unnerving, honestly,â he shrugged. He listened carefully at Adamâs description and in a way it was all very similar to how his relationship with Cameron had started, âIt sounds quite similar because what I have with Cameron started strictly as sex. It was supposed to be a power role agreement. It works for us, but these kinds of agreements are not supposed to involve feelings. Itâs supposed to be only physical gratificationâŚâ he let out a deep sigh, âthe things is that Cameron is justâŚâ he huffed, âsince the beginning itâs been different with him. He just falls in the role so naturally that only made me want him more and lately itâs more than just for physical gratification,â he admitted feeling a stupid and unusual blush in his face.
Adam hummed, nodding along and not commenting on how Freddie worded it. Yet, huh. "I've been an only child myself, but from the stories Devon has told me... I'm pretty sure meaning well but being an absolute nuisance is the job description of an older sibling" he shrugged with a playful smile. It was gratifying to see Freddie opening up, for real, for the first time and Adam busied himself drinking his awful drink to give him time to elaborate as much as he wanted "It starts as physical gratification, but you come back" he said simply "Have you ever wondered what makes you keep coming back to him? When it happened with Devon, I had just started regaining feeling, it was almost intoxicating. Like I kept craving this high, this rush, until... I realized it wasn't just that." The vampire offered his own answer, trying to help the horseman not be embarrassed. "What else do you think it is, between you and Cameron, that's not physical gratification?"
Freddie chuckled at the description Adam provided about older siblings, âI envy you for not having to deal with older siblings. I have two and one of them is fed up with me to the point they sent me away, and the other is a true pain in the ass,â he huffed. He nodded, âI have but itâs not all that simple. You see, this is my first time in a male body. All my other times playing human were as a woman, and as a women sex with male and females was way too different as what it is in a male body,â he looked away cause sharing this made him feel exposed and slightly uncomfortable to tell it to someone else, âIâve been in this body for over two hundred years, and I mostly focused on women. Cameron wasnât the first male who hit on me, but it was the first who made me want to try more. He has also been the only male Iâve been involved in the kind of agreement we have, so Iâm not sure if thatâs the reason, or if it is because heâs fae, or because he just falls into what I need so naturally and easily that is intoxicating and addictive,â he blushed again cause it did sound similar to what Adam had described.
âHe wanted to hang out,â he rolled his eyes but kept on smiling, âhe said we were friends apart from the sex thing and he said friends hang out and just share things and Iâve never had friends before, I do now, but itâs still different with him and I found myself enjoying those little hangouts. Most times they end up in sex and the sex is still what we agreed on and everything our deal entails, butâŚâ he swallowed hard, âwe kept apart for a few days because I was dealing with some family issues,â he said bitterly, âand dealing with work and moving to a new place and I found myself craving his presence, his voice, his texts, his smile, his silly jokes and when we finally saw each other it was not how sex usually was between us and I wasnât bothered about it, but I donât want to say things I donât understand and confuse him or give him hope of something Iâm not sure Iâm capable of feelingsâŚ. Besides, he is dating someone, and I donât want to mess up with that,â he shrugged taking a sip of his coffee.
"Ah yes, I've heard that many times, but I myself would've loved having a sibling, so I guess we're never happy with what we have, right?" He smiled, listening as he turned the thermos around his hands. "Ah, now it makes sense why it's such a complicated topic" the vampire nodded with a small frown. "I'm not going to pretend like I understand what your deal entails, and to be honest that's between you two and I wouldn't even want to intrude" he started gently "But let me ask you this: If you went out tonight, and you found another man, who was similar in bed, who fell into this role just as well as Cameron did and gave you everything you crave from sex with him... Would you stop seeing Cameron?" The vampire prompted, sincerely. "Because the other times we talked about him, sex was always the primal point, and now... It comes out like an afterthought, almost." He shrugged, with a heavy sigh "Ah yes, Trevor right? That complicates things further." Adam let a silence stretch between them "I know it's not your nature, but please entertain me for a moment. If you could imagine your life as perfect as it could be, the most ideal and utopic or sceneries, be it now or in ten years or a hundred. Would you want to be feeling... something you're not sure you're capable of feeling right now... for Cameron?"
Freddie hummed and nodded, "And here I thought that was merely a human flaw," he said playfully. Freddie took a moment before answering, "the thing is that after that first time with Cameron, I did look out for others. I did sleep with others and even tried the same agreement, but it just didn't feel the same. Some where too eager and others not eager enough. Cameron just fit in perfectly on what I didn't know I was looking for," he admitted, "even while I was sleeping with others, I kept coming back for Cameron," he added. "It's not quite like that. How familiar are you with the Dominant and submissive dynamics?" He asked because that played a huge role on his relationship with Cameron, and he didn't want Adam to compare it to a more romantic kind of situation. "The think all of you fail to understand is that there are feelings I don't know how they feel because I've never felt them. I don't know what love feels like. I don't know what compassion feels like. I don't know what nostalgia feels like. I don't know what they are, that is why I keep saying I don't know if I'm capable of feeling them," he deflated a little at that, "I'm not trying to be evasive and I say I don't want to feel those things, I just don't know what they are," he added with a frown.
Adam listened carefully, nodding along. He was surprised when the subject of Dominance and submissiveness came up, though. "I'm familiar" he said simply, prompting the other.
It was visible how frustrated Freddie seemed to be with the situation and the vampire took a long moment to work out what to say. "The way I see it, love isn't just one feeling." He said, placing his drink to the side to get Freddie's attention "Love is a bundle of emotions. That's why it's so complex and different for everyone, because it's build of different blocks for everyone. Some people's love is built on sex, others have nothing to do with sex at all - that's why it's hard to explain" He smiled "My love for my old fiancĂŠe, it burned. Not like a fire, but like liquor. It had lust mixed with happiness and anger and discovery. When I came back, I looked for it, and I couldn't find it. Then, my love for him became a mix of nostalgia, of melancholy, and care. Because I still care deeply about him, but there was no spark left" Adam paused, closing his eyes to access it, a stupid smile on his lips "My love for Devon is built on fun. It's bubbly and soft and sexy and comfortable. It's happiness and change and care and devotion. It's like... the feeling of being fresh out of the shower or the sensation of jumping into a pool on a hot day. It's the silly temporary satisfaction of filling a cup to the brim and not spilling over or finding your favorite shirt in the back of the wardrobe when you've forgotten it exists. It's completely ordinary happenings that make me feel lucky. Because I wasn't looking for it, but this love for Devon found me anyway."
Freddie nodded when Adam said he was familiar with the dynamics, "I've moved into that lifestyle most of the time I've been corporeal and it's the first time I found someone who just fulfills that need and it's someone who's fairly new to it all. I've tried it with new people and experimented people and still Cameron just works for me," he explained without giving details on their roles.
Adam was being more than helpful with the way he explained it, sadly, most of the examples he gave were completely foreign for Freddie but in the end he got what the vampire was trying to explain, "I imagined there was not one definition of what love is or feels like, I just wish there was a way for me to understand it. You, like Cameron and Devon, we're humans once and for most of your lives, which is the thing that differentiate me and my siblings from you and why it's hard. You all grew up and learned through experiences what the feeling are. I was created an adult. My learning process is biased. Technically I'm not supposed to feel positive things and I haven't experienced them until recently, that is why this brain cannot connect the dots to understand the things in feeling," he sighed, "I'm not saying I feel love for Cameron or that I don't. I just don't know what are those things he makes me feel," he shrugged, "I do know I care about him. I want him to be happy, I want him to be safe. I don't like it when he's sad or hurt. I like it when he smiles and when he starts talking nonstop about something he's passionate about, but I don't know what to do with it," he leaned back and looked at the sky setting in the horizon, "I don't want to tell him much about this because I don't want to give him hope and then hurt him if I can't feel what he might expect me to feel. Especially now he has someone who's feelings are reciprocated."
Adam nodded along, careful not to prod "Okay, and what's the issue with it? If he works for you, isn't it good? Isn't it... what you'd hope to find?" He asked with a soft voice, grabbing his thermos again.
He took a long sip of it, sighing when Freddie finished "I understand. And I actually think it's very emotionally mature of you, to care so deeply about his feelings like this" The vampire paused "I'm afraid I'm not some emotion-doctor, who could diagnose you with love or passion or whatever it is you're feeling. But still I'd like to offer you something to think about" he waited until Freddie looked at him. "Words are just definitions. They're made up, and we assign meaning to them. I could write poetry about love, but in the end it is just a four-lettered word" Adam smiled "What I mean, is: you mentioned you're learning about these feelings with Cameron, and he's learning about this lifestyle with you. You can both learn this kind of love - or whatever name you'd like to give it - together. You can even ask him, what he expects from someone who loves him, what they're expected to feel. You can tell him what you feel, however you understand it, and as long as it's an honest and open conversation, there won't be any hopes built to fall. Cameron is many things, but he's not stupid. If you explain it to him, he'll understand. Just as I did."
Freddie hesitated for a moment about the subject, but he found a way to explain it, "Since day one all the times I've had sex with Cameron was in a scene. All of them but the last time. I don't know what that was, but it wasn't a scene, and it wasn't casual sex either and I don't know how I feel about it," he finally said.
He was thankful for Adam's opinion on the way he cared about Cameron's feelings and he smiled a bit sadly when the vampire said he couldn't help him giving him an answer because there wasn't one. "I appreciate that very much," he said with a nod even though he didn't really like the idea of talking to Cameron about this, "I know he's not stupid but he's also not very patient. The only time we had some sort of disagreement was because he pushed me to put a name on the things I was feeling in that moment. I know he was trying to help but if I tell him now about this chaos inside of me, he'll want to help me categorized then and I think it's something I need to do on my own and at my pace," he sighed sadly, "he really doesn't like waiting and I know he will want to try to be patient but I know the wait will still hurt him so maybe it is something I need to figure out on my own before telling him anything."
"And was it something you'd like to have again?" Adam asked simply.
"I'd say to give him a chance, we change, and we learn, so does he. I say that because I saw him leaving Devon's apartment the other day, I'm assuming it was while you were away, and he looked absolutely miserable. When we care about people, we put in extra effort to make sure they're understood." He nodded along "I understand. Either way, it's your decision. But if you think talking it out with anyone could help, you know where to find me."
Freddie frowned and considered it for a moment, "remember when we talked about I've fight and fly instinct? I felt that but I didn't let it win because I knew that if I left in that very moment, Cameron would have been hurt and I promise not to hurt him again if I could help it. So I'm not sure I would want it to happen again," he admitted.
He nodded but didn't vocally agree, "see that's exactly why I'm being careful. He's supposed to be happy with Trevor and not feeling bad because I had to stay away to handle some things," he sighed tiredly, "Thank you, Adam. I really appreciate it, it has helped a lot, it really has, and I don't know how to repay you for this," he smiled.
Adam nodded "It makes sense." He said "If that fight or flight instinct calmed down, thinking about the rest of the encounter, would you want it to happen again?" Adam asked "I say that because that instinct is normal when something is new, but as you get used to it, it goes away. But if the whole thing is something you didn't like, there's no reason to overthink it when you can just go back to your normal sessions, don't you think?"
The comment made Adam chuckle softly and he hid behind his hand "I'm sorry, it's just that.... Frederick, being in a relationship doesn't mean someone is happy all of the time. To go through emotions is... if not human, inherit of the living experience. If he was sad about something, it's because that something mattered to him, and no amount of love in the world can keep you from feeling bad emotions from time to time" He shrugged when Freddie thanked him, asking how to repay him "You're doing your best to keep Cameron safe, his safety matters a lot to Devon, and he matters to me, so... don't mention it, ok? We're good, mate."
Freddie shook his head, "it didn't calm down. I pushed it down but I still feel it when I think about it," he admitted, "I would rather to go back to our usual scenes," he said even if it didn't feel entirely right.
The laugh made him arch a brow, "I know that, not by experience obviously, I just don't want to affect his life that much. It's not fair and it feels wrong," he said not really wanting to get into more detail. Who would've know that talking feelings was so exhausting? He smiled a bit and nodded, "Thank you, Adam, really. You are a really good friend," he said offering his hand for a shake.
The answer he got made him sigh. Baby steps. "Then that's what you do. Try that out and let me know how you feel about it, ok?"
"I'm afraid you can't control how much he lets you affect his life, buddy. That's his choice" the vampire said, then smiled at the thanks, shaking Freddie's hand back "Thanks, man."
Freddie nodded even if he had no intention to give Adam feedback about his next encounter with Cameron, "alright, I'll try it out, thanks."
He huffed at the answer, "I wish I could," he admitted. He nodded and picked his thermos back, "I probably should let you go back to work," he said standing up, "see you around?"
"I know, buddy" he said with a tight smile, then nodded with an actual smile, getting up as well "See you around, Freddie. Take care!"

@adamnvamp
Freddie: hello Adam. How have you been?
Adam: Hello there!
Adam: I've been well, how about you?
Freddie: I'm glad to hear so. I'm fine.
Freddie: I'm sorry to bother you again. I think I've been pestering you quite a lot with some stuff and I'm afraid I'm gonna do so again.
Freddie: is there a chance you could meet up to talk about something?
Adam: I don't mind one bit when you "pester" me, bud
Adam: Sure, wanna meet me at the graveyard?
Adam: It's not a goth vampire thing, I just work here đ
Freddie: I appreciate that. Thank you
Freddie: very practical and smart.
Freddie: I'll see you there soon. Thank you again
Adam: No worries!
Adam: See you soon!

Freddie: Hello Adam. How are you?
Freddie: I have a few things I'd like to ask about, if you have the time to answer, of course.
Adam: Hey there, I'm fine, hope you are too
Adam: Of course! What is it?
Freddie: That is good to hear. I am, yes, thank you.
Freddie: what do you do when you feel too much?
Freddie: I have only felt overwhelmed a very short times in my existence and it's still a very confusing sensation.
Adam: That's an interesting question
Adam: I suppose it depends on what you're feeling, what kind of emotion it is
Adam: I don't particularly like being angry or sad, so when those kinds of emotions overwhelm me I do something to combat them, to calm down or cheer myself up
Adam: Having a support system is good for that, my boyfriend usually helps me, since he knows my predicament and how to deal with me
Adam: Sometimes they're hard to name, though. Do you know what kind of emotion it was?
Freddie: I don't like those negative feelings either. And it's also very dangerous if I lose control of those.
Freddie: I'm not sure. It was just too much.
Freddie: not in a bad way or negative, just too much.
Adam: Well if it wasn't bad or negative, then at least it shouldn't be dangerous, right?
Adam: Good emotions can be overwhelming too, even for people who feel more than we do
Adam: That's where happy tears come from, I guess
Adam: I've found that putting names to these emotions usually help untangle them, and once I understand them better I'm able to surf the wave, so to speak
Adam: They don't consume me anymore; I can just enjoy them while they last
Adam: If that makes sense?
Freddie: I know. I'm asking to understand what to do not because I was worried it was dangerous
Freddie: I know what emotions they are. I just wanted to know what to do when it's too much
Freddie: not quite but I suppose what you're saying is just too feel then and enjoy them
Adam: When you felt those emotions, when it got overwhelming, what was your first instinct? What did your body want to do?
Adam: On the surface, most times the first reaction is to want to run away, because being overwhelmed activated the fight or flight response I think
Adam: At least it did with me
Adam: But I've found that my body usually knew what to do, when I got over that first step
Freddie: that run away reaction came after
Adam: And what was the first reaction while it happened?
Freddie: there was no reaction
Adam: I doubt it
Adam: But hey, to each its own
Adam: Did that answer your very abstract question, mate?
Freddie: thank you.
Freddie: not quite but it's helped.
Freddie: Sorry for the weird questions. I'm not sure who else to ask. My siblings are complicated. One feels too much and the other too little so it's more confusing talking to them.
Adam: Don't worry about it, Frederick, I completely understand
Adam: It's just a bit awkward to word out the answers when I don't know the context, but I respect your privacy
Adam: I do hope you can get through whatever feeling it is that is overwhelming you, though
Adam: And if you have any more questions, or if you just wish to talk, don't hesitate to contact me, alright?
Freddie: thank you for trying and respecting my privacy
Freddie: thanks. I'm sure I will
Freddie: I appreciate that. Thanks a lot

Freddie: How's Devon doing?
Adam: Devon's doing ok
Adam: A bit shaken still, but he's ok
Adam: How are you doing, Freddie?
Freddie: I meant physically. It might take a toll on him giving blood to Cameron
Freddie: I'm glad he is ok
Freddie: I'm ok
Freddie: I have a question tho, and you said I could talk to you
Adam: Oh, he's been resting and taking loads of fluids just in case, so I'm hoping he's back on his feet in no time
Adam: Yes, I did say that
Adam: What's your question?
Freddie: I'm glad to hear so. Faes' healing powers are impressive so I'm sure both of them will be perfectly fine soon.
Freddie: Thank you
Freddie: what do you do when someone you care about gets hurt?
Adam: Yes, they are amazing
Adam: You help them heal, if you can
Adam: Would you like to elaborate?
Freddie: well I can't. That's why I took him to someone who could.
Freddie: I want to understand what I can do for Cameron now he got hurt so he feels better.
Adam: Oh
Adam: That's actually very thoughtful of you
Adam: Well, visits are usually appreciated when one is bedridden
Adam: People usually take get-well-soon cards, balloons and flowers when they visit hospitals
Adam: As if you'd give him things he can't have access right then, since he's not supposed to go outside
Adam: Though it's usually not about the gifts, but the intention behind them. Knowing you are wishing him well and thinking about his recovery could make him feel better
Freddie: I don't think it's a great idea to keep visiting him at Trevor's place. It feel invasive.
Freddie: should I wait until he's back at his place to bring him those things to help him feel better?
Adam: I'm fairly certain you don't have to give him anything to make him feel better, Frederick
Adam: Have you talked to him since the transfusion happened?
Freddie: there was one day when he told me he was sad and that ice-cream made him feel better. Could ice-cream help this time too?
Freddie: not really. He needs to rest so I don't wanna make him do an effort to talk. I brought him a new phone but I haven't texted him yet.
Adam: Well ice cream can cure a world of hurt, and Cameron has a sweet tooth for the ages, so I can't imagine he'd be upset about it
Adam: Though I'd assume he should stick to a healthier diet the next few days at least
Adam: Then again, I'm not his nurse, so do with that as you please
Adam: I do think he'd enjoy hearing from you, though
Adam: Possibly even more than ice cream
Freddie: I don't know what he likes to eat and so far his eating choices seem quite questionable to be considered healthy.
Freddie: I'll think of something healthy to bring it to him.
Freddie: I'll try to text him later. Not too late.
Freddie: thank you, Adam. You've been very helpful
Adam: Maybe think about the things he eats around you. Cameron isn't a man to eat something he doesn't like
Adam: You're very welcome!
Freddie: ok. I'll try to remember something.
Freddie: if you ever need anything, you know where to find me.

@adamnvamp
"We have a problem. Are you with Devon?" His tone sharper than the usual. "I need to talk to you privately."
"Hey, uh-" steps. "Now I am alone, yes. What is wrong?"
"Cameron was attacked by a vampire tonight. He's safe now and on the way to recovery but there's still too much venom in his system. I figured you'd know how to deal with that."
"Oh god. Fuck. Okay. It normally gets them a bit high for a while, but- but if he loses a lot of blood or there's too much venom, his body can go into shock. As if it was rejecting being turned."
"he's not going into shock, but it was enough to lower his temperature. Trevor healed him and then he went through some kind of fever, sweating the venom out. He was awake and alert when I left him under Trevor's case," sounds of steps, "I figured a transfusion with Devon's blood might help but Cameron didn't want me to tell him. I figured you'd know better how to deliver the news."
"Okay, good, a fever is good. It means his body is responding to the intrusion. I'd assume he just needs loads of fluids so he's able to push the venom out of his system." Pause. "A transfusion could work, but I don't think the hospital would be a good place to take him, since there's a lot of vampires undercover there. It'd be exposing him to unnecessary threat"
"I figured as much. I'm sure Trevor will make sure he's taken care of tonight," a low growl, "the vampires in town are warned. If they don't want to end in ashes too they'll stay away from Cameron and Devon. I doubt anyone will try to make a move knowing my siblings and I are on the faes' side. I know someone at the hospital. I could ask her if she can come over to Trevor's place."
"Is he at Trevor's? I can tell Devon in the morning and we go there. I'll also check with a couple of friends, make sure the warning reached the higher ups. You've ended the attacker, I'm assuming?"
"Yes. I figured he'd be safer there. I'm on my way to work so I'll make sure to make it clear at the bar that whoever attempts against the faes will respond to me. I did. Yes. Cameron was worried about the situation frightening Devon, but I don't know why I think he'll be more pissed than scared."
Chuckles. "Oh, he'll be livid. But if Cameron was worrying about Devon, then he's not feeling that bad, at least. Can you keep me posted about his situation? I'm going to wait until the morning to tell Devon since right now resting is the best they can do, but if it changes for the worse, I can wake him up and we can try an emergency transfusion."
"I'll keep you posted. I'll be back at Trevor's after work. I asked them to text me if anything changed but Cameron only seemed tired when I left. I think he'll be alright. I'll text you as soon as I know anything. Thank you, Adam."
"Okay, thank you for calling to let me know" pause "Oh, and Freddie? How are YOU doing with all of this?"
"You're welcome. I told Cameron you and Devon needed to know," a moment of silence, "what do you mean? I'm fine. I'm not hurt. The vampire didn't stand a chance. It was quick."
"...Right. Of course. Welp, if the situation changes and you feel like talking with somebody, let me know, ok? I'll leave you to it, until then."
"ok... sure. Thank you, Adam. I'll text you in the morning. Bye." [Call ends]

When we long to feel alive?
TIME: September 28th, 2024 PLACE: The Red Door BETWEEN: Adam ( @adamnvamp ) & Fredrick NOTES: Written on Discord.Â
Okay, so maybe Adam was a gossip. But to everyone else's business, he was just there because he wanted a drink, and Devon was busy at his gig downtown anyway. Not because he wanted to scout Freddie on behalf of his brother-in-law to-be. So when he walked inside the Red Door, he didn't think much about it, making a beeline to the bar where he saw Freddie was working, eyes fixed on precisely cutting the tip of the blood bag on his hand. " 'Evening, Freddie" Adam said with a smile sliding onto a stool right in front of him "I didn't know you worked on the weekends"
Freddie wasnât sure what that heaviness in his chest was. He knew he had been developing feelings. Most of them related to certain fae but he refused to acknowledge them, especially to that said fae who hadnât texted or called at all. His ego sometimes was bigger than his logical side, so he didnât call or text either. He even avoided going to the bar just to avoid another confrontation so now he was just focused on his job, but his usual smile wasnât anywhere to be seen. He had just finished serving two regulars when he sensed a familiar energy and then he heard the voice, âAdam,â he said without turning to look at the vampire, âI do. Lately Iâve been only working from Friday to Sunday,â he explained as he grabbed a glass and served Adam the same blood he had ordered last time, with no intention of making small talk. Especially because he knew the vampire was dating Cameronâs brother and he really didnât want to think about Cameron cause it made his heart feel like someone was squeezing it.
"Oh, I had no idea. Then again, it makes sense. I'd imagine near the weekend is when it's busier" he commented conversationally, accepting the drink "I had something to ask you, though, if you don't mind me stealing you for a bit" Adam asked, before Freddie turned away "Do you happen to sell magical drinks here? Not necessarily bloody ones. I'm looking for something with quick healing" He said, waiting for Freddie's attention to be picked before throwing in the hook "I ask because I'm going to meet Devon and his brother at the fight club later, we're going to the movies, and I'm afraid the guys might not have time to see the medic witches before we leave in time for the session. Do you have something like that?"
Freddie nodded, not really in the mood for talking more than the necessary. He moved closer when he said he wanted to ask him something and frowned at the question, "we don't sell magical drinks at all," he said right away, confused on why a vampire would need something like that. The mention of Cameron even if it wasn't by name made the pressure in his chest feel heavier, and it got worse when he mentioned a fight club, "what fight club?" He asked with a dark expression in his face. He didn't follow the rest said by Adam cause anger and something else started simmering inside of him, "your boyfriend is in a fucking fight club and you're here so calmed drinking blood and asking for magical drinks? I'm not buying it," he said looking at Adam in the eyes, "Gigi, I'm taking a break," he told the other bartender as he jumped over the bar, "you and I, outside now," he said waking through the crowd, hoping Adam was following, "what the hell is Cameron getting into?" He asked as soon as they both were outside.
At first Adam thought it had worked, when he saw the fury in Freddie's eyes, but by the time he reached the outside he had remembered he was a terrible liar. "I thought you knew" he said, honestly this time "he's been going to the fight club under Dark Night. Supernatural people go there to blow off some steam, because the cage has spells, so their powers don't work during the fight" the vampire paused "You didn't know?"
Freddie held himself back from growling, "Cameron is not exactly great at telling me things," he said in a contained tone. He didn't notice when he started pacing, "How was I supposed to know? I'm not into violence to know about a place like that," he said with an angry look in his face, "Is your boyfriend really part of that nonsense? And you're so damn calmed?"
Adam shrugged "I don't think he's that great at telling things to anyone, I just discovered it because Devon bumped into him there" the vampire shrugged, taking a deep breath and leaning against the brick wall, watching the man pace "Yeah, he is. He goes there a few times a month. I'm calm because... well, because I trust him. He goes there because he likes to fight, and he's good at it, not... for self-destructive reasons" which he was pretty certain were Cam's.
Freddie shook his head when he heard Cameron hadn't actually told anyone about his crazy plans. He stopped pacing and took a deep breath when he noticed the grass under his feet was dying, "can Devon stop him from doing that?" He asked with an unreadable expression, unsure if he even had a say on this. He scoffed, " Yeah that sounds like Cameron is completely opposite of all that. He doesn't seem to be the fighting type and with his powers he might have some advantage but without them," he swallowed hard, suddenly feeling sick at the idea.
The vampire shook his head at the question, noticing the vegetation dying around his feet. "They talked last night, but Cameron isn't the type to listen to his brother" he shrugged "I was actually hoping you could" he added, because if what Devon said was true, Freddie could be one of the couple people in town Cameron actually listened to. "Dev mentioned you both had a fight?"
This time Freddie did growl, it was an unnatural dangerous sound, "he doesn't listen at all. That's the fucking problem..." he grunted and then huffed, "what makes you think he's gonna listen to me. He's not even talking to me," he said frustrated. He glared when Adam said Cameron had said they had a fight, "we didn't have a fight. He started pushing for things that I'm not willing to do and I told him that if he cared so much about feelings he talked about it with someone else. Then he hung up on me and I haven't heard of him until now," he crossed his arms over his chest.
Adam bit back his tongue not to hiss back, the sound bringing some ferocious reaction from him, was it a horsemen thing? "That's a fight, mate" Adam said with an empathetic sigh. "From what Devon told me, he's... I probably shouldn't be saying this, but, he seems pretty sad" he said "Did you try to contact him at all?"
Freddie glared at the vampire when he remarked that it had been a fight, "that's stupid! That can't be a fight. It's a disagreement," he corrected with an annoying voice. All his upsetment melted down when Adam said Cameron seemed sad, "Someone sad doesn't go looking for a fight. He's probably mad at me for not being what he wants me to be," he sighed, "No. He's mad at me and honestly I don't wanna hear him trying to make me understand the emotions I'm going through. Stupid mortal vessel with stupid mortal emotions," he grumbled.
Adam shrugged, unfazed by his glaring. He had seen Gilmore's disappointed glare before, no look would scare him more. "That's what a fight is. A disagreement where at least one of the parties ends up hurt and consequences follow" The vampire shrugged when Freddie said Cam was mad, doing the exact same thing the fae has done, apparently "I'd think his brother would be a good judge as to how he was feeling, but that's just second hand information, because I wasn't there, so I really can't say" he said, always the polite one. The last comment made him frown a bit "Did you... You didn't happen to have come from the void, did you?"
Freddie rolled his eyes in annoyance, "well I'm sorry, this whole thing is new to me and that is exactly why I don't get involved with stubborn creatures," he said sarcastically. His expression sobered when Adam pointed out that he had done exactly what Cameron had done with him. Trying to say he knew what the other was feeling. "No. I've never been dead. I just spent a lot of time without a vessel. A little over a thousand years. This vessel is pretty new. I've had it for two hundred years or so," he explained, "emotions and feelings take a while to settle in and it's hard to identify them cause it's been too long. Cameron keeps pushing trying to put a name on the things he thinks I'm feeling," he said with a frustrated sigh.
Adam hummed when he spoke "I suppose it's different then. I've trained for about seven years in the void, back when I worked for your brother. Proportionally to the lifespan of a human, I'd suppose it's a long time" he mused, giving Freddie enough time to absorb the information "It was almost a year until I could even taste food properly when I got back. I couldn't really feel anything. Have you tried spicy shrimp? I've lived off of those for months" Adam joked, running his fingers through his hair "If you don't mind me asking, why don't you want to name what you're feeling?"
"Wait! You were one of Gils' reapers?" he asked confused. He chuckled and shook his head, "It's definitively not the same. Physical sensations and feelings come back almost right away for us. As soon as we get into the vessel we start feeling those and they're easy to discern and understand, it's the emotional intangible stuff what's annoying and confusing," he complained. "It's not that I don't want to name them, I'm trying to understand them and it's hard and I feel like Cameron wants to name them without actually knowing what I'm feeling. He tends to assume, and I think he might be wanting me to feel certain things... That is exactly why I never got close to anyone, at least in the past two hundred years, but there's something about that damn fae that is driving me insane and it's already a struggle without him trying to put a name on the thing," he blurted out frustrated.
"Yup" he said "For me they both came back at the same rate, but feelings were easier to name than proper emotions." Adam paused "Cameron is... many things, yes, and please never tell him I said this, but he has the heart in the right place." He said calmly "He usually goes these wrong and twisted ways, but most of the time he's really just trying to help." Adam paused, so Freddie could absorb his words "Feelings are scary though, uncontrollable. What do you think Cameron wants you to be feeling, Freddie?"
âWell now thatâs unexpected, howâs that you even ended up a vampire then?â he asked confused cause he wasnât sure reapers could be turned into something else. He listened and nodded cause he had noticed Cameron meant well with his actions but he was just so rushed that he didnât really stopped to consider others much or if they wanted to be helped at all, âI donât want his help,â he said seriously, âI tried to tell him that, I tried to make him stop, I asked him to and he kept pushing so I had enough,â he said with a deep sigh, âIâm not scared about feelings, I donât wanna feel them but I know I canât help it, I just donât want to be rushed,â he pointed simply, âI think he thinks this is more than it is. I was very clear with him that this is just sex, and he was ok with it, but I think the fact that heâs getting attached to the other person he's seeing might be affecting this between us cause he might want the same form me and I canât give him that. If he wants love and that stuff, he can have it with that other person, not me, and he knew that from day one so itâs very annoying heâs making a big deal about my emotions or my lack of them right now.â
"I... was fired" he shrugged, then added "Which was completely my fault, by the way, no hard feelings towards Gilmore. But since I was dying when I was hired, I was put back in that state, a friend of mine who was a vampire saw me dying and turned me"
Adam listened before speaking "Did he ask it of you? To feel things for him?" He asked confused, because Cameron didn't seem like the type who would beg someone for attention. At least not knowingly.
Freddie winced, âWhatever you mightâve done to get fired must really have pissed Gil enough to send you back to that state. I guess it was good your friend was around,â he said with a sympathetic smile.
He frowned, âNot exactly, not with that many words but he kept on pushing for me to say that I care about him, which is annoying because Iâve told him that before and Iâve done things to show him that I care but I donât know why heâs been so insisting on it now⌠maybe this whole thing was a bad idea. Itâs probably best for us both to call everything off.â
Adam nodded, with a smile "It was deserved. I kept tabs on Devon's life book, so I could make sure he didn't die. Because... well, because I had fallen in love with him. So it was worth it."
"But do you want to? Call it off?" He asked, then sighed, giving him some time "You know, people say that what differentiates humans from other beings is that we have smart thinking. We solve problems and communicate but... there's a single experience that is just intrinsically human, to me - and I'm telling you think because I'm assuming it doesn't happen to you" The vampire said in a kind tone "We question things. Which is good, from a developmental view point, helped technology grow and such, but... we also question ourselves. Our own thinking. We question how we perceive things, we question if things happened the way we think they did, we question how we feel and why we feel things... and that happens so sometimes we need to be reminded of things, even if they were said before. Our memory is selective, we were not made to live hundreds of thousands of years like you, so sometimes our brain chooses to believe one thing over another, and if we don't get confirmation, it's overwritten."
Freddie huffed, "You risked your life for love?" He asked incredulously, "I just don't understand all those sacrifices for love. It just doesn't make sense," he admitted.
Freddie considered it for a moment, "I'm not gonna lie and say things with Cameron aren't amazing but if the price to keep doing it is to change it for his emotional comfort, I think it's better to change it than hurt him cause I'm not able to give him what he wants," he said simply. "But you know what's funny? We're not humans. You and Cameron aren't humans anymore and I've never been. You two are still holding to your loss humanity and that's why you keep questioning things. I don't work like that. I say and do the things I mean, and I don't like to be questioned about it."
Adam chuckled at the reaction of the horseman "It wasn't sacrifice, it was an investment" he said with a soft smile "Devon made my chest feel so full, experience such bliss, that-" he chuckled almost embarrassedly "That I was too selfish to give it away. I wanted to keep that joy in my life, that... peace that came from knowing he was okay. That he was happy and safe."
"You didn't answer the question, Freddie" Adam said softly "You just said you put his emotional well-being over what you want. It sounds a bit of a sacrifice to me, doesn't it?" It was almost a tease, but Adam made sure to show he wasn't pushing and didn't mean much by it. "Oh, but I wasn't trying to say you are like us, I was simply showing you how our minds work. It's not that we're holding onto humanity, it's that we've been humans for most of our time on earth. That's how we learned to be, to behave." He shrugged "You don't like to be questioned, he needs to make those questions, which shouldn't work. Why do you keep him around, then?"
Freddie arched a brow, âIf your friend hadnât been there you wouldâve died. You didnât know you were gonna get away with it and yet you risked all those marvelous things he gave you and the worst part is that you wouldnât have been able to stop him from dying if your friend hadnât turned you⌠it sounds kinda stupid. You got lucky It worked out, but thatâs not how it always goes,â he said cynically, âI see one of my siblings in a darker place than their own existence ever gave them just because they let themselves feel something for someone, now theyâre in a worse state than they were before. How is that worth it?â he asked simply.
He rolled his eyes, âItâs not a sacrifice, itâs just sex and I can get it anywhere else,â he said simply as if he was convinced of that statement. âThe sooner you let go to that lingering humanity, the easier itâll be. I actually kinda get it, Iâm the other way around, Iâm supposed to learn to be more human while you and him and everyone who started as human need to learn to be less human,â he pointed, âI kept him around cause I thought he understood what this was. He agreed with our arrangement. Hell! He even said it was better for him if this was just sex and now he's pushing for more so youâre right, maybe itâs better to end this,â he agreed, âitâs not like either of us are unable to find someone else to fuck,â he said simply with a shrug.
Adam laughed at that accusation "Yeah, I did get very lucky. It was still very worth it. You see, I almost died in the first place because of someone I loved" he said "And then I became a reaper so he could know I didn't blame him, so he wouldn't be in pain. And then I died again, because of someone I love. And I'd die a thousand times over, if it was for the hope that I could keep someone I love from suffering." He paused "What do you have to show for, Freddie? Without ever loving someone. Why walk around the Earth, if you don't establish one single connection? Is the sex enough for you?"
The vampire listened attentively as Freddie piled on lies even Adam could see through. "Then you really should end it, and I'll get out of your hair" he said, making a move to leave, then stopping on his tracks and turning back "Although, I'd like to make you one last question before I do, if that's okay. You never answered my question, and that's fine, I respect it, you don't have to answer anything you don't want to." He said softly, raising his hands to show he wasn't pushing "I'd just like to know though" Adam pointed at the floor "Why are those flowers dead?"
Freddie rolled his eyes, âdude you died twice for love and Iâm sorry but thatâs the stupidest thing Iâve heard so far⌠itâs cool and all, but donât assume everyone is so selfless or care that much. Thatâs not the norm and no one should aspire to die for love. Are you supposed to live for love? It just makes absolutely no sense,â he said annoyed. âIâm only here cause being non corporeal had turned stupidly boring, so I decided to give this human game a try but honestly, the expectations are too annoying and Iâm not gonna trade a life of imprisonment for duty for another one for feelings,â he pointed, âit is. It has been for the las two hundred years so no reason to complicate my temporary existence here for anyone.â
âIâm pretty sure itâs over already,â he shrugged. He huffed cause he had just told Adam he didnât like to be questioned and here he was, questioning him. He arched a brow and looked at the dead grass and flowers around him, âBecause sometimes I lose control of my powers when someone upsets me. So donât think too hard on that, it happens more often than you imagine when my siblings are around,â he said simply walking back to the door to the club, âIf you need magical potions for healing you need to look for a witch, not on clubs, keep that in mind in case that idiot decides to keep ignoring the magical aid you say they give in that stupid club. And for the record, Nephilim are healers so Iâm sure Cameron will be alright. Now I have to go back to work. Have a nice night Adam,â he said without looking back as he returned to the bar.
Your mind is playing tricks on you
TIME: September 6th, 2024. PLACE: Devonâs place BETWEEN: Adam ( @adamnvamp ) & Devon NOTES: Written on Discord. Several TW (see tags)
Adam let out an annoyed sigh when he reached Devon's door, absolutely drenched. Dating who he was dating, he should've learned to always bring with himself a raincoat or some umbrella. Still, that thought vanished the moment he went to knock on the door. He smiled at the memory, fishing his keychain where a key to Devon's apartment now lied. He quietly pushed the door open, confused when he didn't see the fae. Adam toed off his wet shoes and jacket, running his fingers to get some of the water off his hair as he called gently "Love? You're home?"
Devon stopped crying at some point, and it was when the rain outside slowed down. He sniffed burying himself under the cover and only perked up when he heard the door, "I'm in bed," he said in a normal tone of voice knowing Adam would hear him all the way to the door. He shifted and turned to his side, looking at the bedroom door, waiting for his boyfriend to come in.
Adam went straight to the bedroom then, smiling at the bundle of blankets he figured was his boyfriend. "Hello, love" he greeted, as he always did. With unhuman speed, he got rid of his wet slacks, stealing one of Devon's oversized sweatpants (that he had a feeling were his to begin with) to then slowly crawl under the covers. True to his word, all Adam did was pull the fae into his arms in complete and comfortable silence. He didn't miss the red puffy eyes or the quivering bottom lip, but he wasn't going to push it. Devon needed support now, he'd speak once he was ready.
"Hi," he murmured with a rough voice from under the covers. By now, Devon had already gotten used to the difference in temperature between Adam's body and his own, but he could tell Adam was colder, "I'm sorry I made it rain on you," he apologized, rolling around to melt between his boyfriend's arms, pressing his forehead against Adam's chest.
Adam's arms wrapped safely around the man, one hand moving to his curls, gently scratching his scalp "It's okay" he said with a gentle smile "The clouds actually helped walk around town at this time of the day, and I like the sound of rain. It's soothing"
Devon sniffed, "it's a good thing you don't get sick," he smiled weakly and relaxed under the soothing touch of his hand. After a long moment of silence he sighed and emerged from under the covers, looking at Adam with a pout, "I've been thinking a lot and I realized I was very unfair and insensitive with Cameron," he admitted, feeling his face blushing.
Adam chuckled at the little joke, pressing a kiss to the top of his head and letting Devon soak up every ounce of affection he needed. When he emerged from his blanket cocoon, Adam cupped his cheek with a soft smile "And why's that, love?" the vampire prompted, already with a feeling he knew exactly what Devon meant. He had that same impression, but he was ready to bring that up to Devon later, once he had calmed down and the anger had washed off a bit.
The pout remaining on his face, feeling the blush increase, "it bothered me that we had just talked about kids and suddenly he reached to tell me he was adopting a kid out of nowhere," he sighed, "not long ago he said he was gonna be a forever bachelor and never a father and now when we talked about our future, he said he wanted that too," he looked away, "I thought that was going to be my thing. Something no one was going to compare me with him," he shrugged, and it was very upsetting to think he wanted the same," he admitted, "it's not even his fault. He's not the one who's actively looking to compete against me. It's a thing my dad used to do. Everything I did was never good enough or as good as everything Cameron did," he felt his eyes filling with tears.
Adam caressed his cheek with his thumb, not letting go of his face, establishing the physical contact whenever he could "I think you might've gotten so used to being compared with him, that you even started to compare it yourself, love" he said softly "but it makes sense. It makes sense you feel this way, and it makes sense you reacted like you did"
Devon felt a couple of tears falling from his eyes, "I think so too," he sighed, "it was hard not to think like that when every day it was the same story: at least your brother has a real career. At least he has a real job. At least he can still marry and have children. At least he's not a disappointment for this family. At least he's not staining the family name," he repeated all the things his father told him constantly, "I don't even know when I started to see him as my competition and now my brother," he let out a soft sob, hiding his face into Adam's chest, "I don't think he even knows all the things dad used to tell me."
Adam wiped the tears gently right away, holding Devon close against his chest when he started crying "Parents have a way of creating absolute truths in your mind that are not truth at all" he commented gently, pressing a kiss to the top of his head, rubbing circles on his back "The same way you probably don't know all the things your dad told him, love. But you know he loves you very dearly, don't you?"
Devon nodded, "I know he does, and I was an absolute jerk to him," he sniffed, "he told me the other day he was advising my mom to divorce dad and make sure she got the deal she deserves for standing him so long," he sighed, "I probably should talk to him. Apologize and explain why I was such an asshole to him," he reached to wipe his tears off, "I hope he can forgive me."
"You were hurting, love" He said softly "If you both talk things out, I'm sure he'll understand" Adam wiped the curls off his forehead, holding him close "Did he tell you when he started or after it was going on for a while?" he asked, because he had a feeling Cameron didn't tell Devon things that could still go wrong, not to give him false hope.
Devon shook his head, "that's not an excuse for me to do what my dad did. I threw the punches without reason," he said sadly, feeling sick when he realized he had done just what he accused Cameron of. "They were already halfway there with the whole process."
Adam held him tighter "It's not an excuse, no, but it's a reason. He's been raised by your dad too, if there's one person in the whole world who could understand where you're coming from and why you felt the way you did, it's him, love" he said gently "Then maybe he doesn't tell you when things are hard, or uncertain. Maybe that's why he got upset with not having your support, because he was certain, for once. But you had no way to know that."
Devon nodded, knowing Adam was right about that. The only person who would understand would be Cameron, "yeah that could be true. Maybe he doesn't tell me the thing he traumatized him with either," he sniffed and looked up at Adam, "how is that you always know just what to say?" He asked with a small smile, "I'll let him know I'll always support him. Even with not so great ideas cause that way I'll still get to watch his back."
Adam hummed "Knowing what you've told me about your dad, I doubt Cameron left that house unscathed. Specially because he's been the only kid for a few years" Adam chuckled at that, pressing a kiss to Devon's forehead "I try to listen to you, love, that's all" he said, then grimaced "Just maybe don't tell him it's a bad idea while you're apologizing?"
Devon nodded with a sad smile, "I'm sure that's why he left as soon as he could and didn't look back until I came out," he remembered. "You're a great listener and I'm very lucky to have you," he reached to caress Adam's cheek. "I won't. I'll keep that to myself for another time," he sighed and closed his eyes, trying to relax more so the rain finally stopped.
"Good" Adam chuckled, running his fingers through Devon's hair, watching as he relaxed and slowly, the rain subsided. "If I may add, though" he spoke into the dark after a while "Cameron can't be a bachelor forever, because if he never has kids, who'll our kids play with? They need a cousin or two to get them in trouble."
Devon smiled, closing his eyes, feeling all the anger drain out of him. He frowned and looked up when Adam said those words, "I thought we had agreed we wouldn't have any kids," he said with more hope in his voice than he wanted to let on.
Adam chuckled, Devon's excitement on the subject still apparent even if he tried to hide it "We agreed you didn't like the idea of having fae kids, and vampires can't naturally spawn kids. I never said anything about not wanting kids, love"
Devon smiled, "but I don't want you to feel like we have to. Especially after this horrible breakdown," he said with another blush on his face, "I think it is too soon to think about kids anyway," he smiled a bit.
Adam held Devon's face with both hands then "Devon, my love" he said, seriously, but kindly "I want to have everything with you. Every single experience in human existence that you're willing to share with me. Kids included." He chuckled "It doesn't have to be now. But you should know where I stand, so you don't need to feel like you're left out on that."
Devon was already too emotional to keep the tears forming in his eyes but this times they were happy tears, "I want it all with you too, Adam," he murmured, "I really, really love you, did you know that?" He asked leaning in to peck his boyfriend's lips.
Adam used the hands that were already cupping his cheek to wipe away the newly formed tears with a smile, kissing him back "And I love you, my love, I feel like you forget that sometimes" he joked, letting go of his face to hold him close.
Devon shook his head, "it's impossible to forget when I can really feel it. The way you look at me and watch over me," he smiled and laid back, pulling Adam closer, "did you eat something before coming over?"
That made him smile and Adam pulled him into another kiss, hands safely placed at the small of his back. The question made him swallow dry, he was more than used to Devon's scent now, but since he was focused on comforting the fae, it had been on the back of his mind until then "No, I came straight away. But I should be fine, love. You don't have to worry about me."
Devon frowned, "of course I worry. You need to eat. Do you want to go for a drink or back to your place to feed? I'll wait for you here," he said with a serious expression, "you know I refuse to make it hard for you when you hadn't feed."
"I'm fine, love" he repeated, pecking his lips "I can go grab a bag at my place once you're asleep, how about that?" he said, running his hand through Devon's hair. Adam refused to let the fae alone after such an emotional turmoil, and he didn't really need to sleep, so it was just right.
Devon pouted, "ok, fine, I'll take a nap while you go back to your place for a bag and then we can watch something when you come back," he offered because it was still early to go to sleep.
Adam chuckled at Devon's impatience "I think a nap could do you some good, love" he kissed his head "I can bring some take out on my way back, how about that? Deal?"
Devon smiled when Adam agreed, "yeah, I think so too. Emotions are tiring," he sighed closing his eyes. "It sounds like a great deal. Burgers and fries?" He asked with a hopeful tone.
The vampire kissed the top of his head with a chuckle "Burgers and fries, love" He said gently, waiting until Devon's breath evened out to slowly leave the bed and do as he said, hoping things between Devon and Cameron would get mended soon.
Texts: Adam & Devon
@adamnvamp
Adam: did something happen love?
Adam: are you alright?
Devon: I'm ok. I'm sorry
Devon: I got into a stupid argument with Cameron
Devon: I'm meditating to make it stop. Sorry
Adam: you don't have to make it stop, love
Adam: it's okay to feel things
Adam: I just worry about you
Adam: do you want to talk about it?
Adam: you guys rarely fight
Devon: I don't want to cause troubles with irregular rain showers
Devon: thanks. I'm sorry for making you worried
Devon: it's just Cameron being Cameron as usual
Devon: he texted me to tell me he's gonna adopt a supernatural kid with Trevor
Devon: can you believe that insanity?
Adam: the plants get thirsty too
Adam: that's
Adam: weird even for Cameron
Adam: is it immediate or just an idea for the future?
Devon: I know
Devon: he said he had found this Nephilim girl, and she needed a guardian, so they were gonna put her in a boarding school while they set up some kind of foster home for supernatural kids
Devon: there's so much there that doesn't make any sense
Devon: and the worst part is that even if it's insane and it makes no sense, I'm sure it's gonna work out for him
Devon: because everything always works out for him
Devon: He and Trevor aren't even in a committed relationship and now he's planning to make these long-term commitments adding kids that'll have zero emotional stability
Adam: that actually so it ends very considerate of him
Adam: love
Adam: are you upset bc you think things are going to work out well for him?
Devon: sure, very considerate of him to start a family with someone he's not even dating
Devon: I'm upset cause he always make things without thinking of the consequences and yet everything just works out
Devon: he's not even thinking about those kids
Adam: but it didn't seem like he was starting a family, it seemed like he was starting a Supernatural NGO, love
Adam: you keep saying that things work out
Adam: is it that maybe you think he has it too easy love?
Devon: yeah that's not what he said at first
Devon: he started rambling nonsense about that idea after I pointed out how crazy it was for him to even consider to be anyone's legal guardian
Devon: it's not that I think so, Adam. It is, it's the way it always has been
Devon: everything comes easier for him
Devon: and I'm so tired to having to work twice as hard to even get a glimpse of what I want in life but when I do, he already accomplished everything I wanted
Adam: it sounds like the problem might be the comparison between the both of you, my love
Adam: does this have anything to do with our talk about kids?
Devon: that's how it's been my whole life
Devon: I didn't even tell him anything about it but it's like he senses it and decides he has to make things happen for him first
Devon: not long ago he told me he didn't even want kids and now this
Adam: is it important for you to have things happen for you first?
Devon: it's important to me to want to have things without him wanting to have them first when he didn't even want them in the first place
Adam: love
Adam: I don't think I understand what you mean
Devon: I'm sorry. I just really don't want to talk about this anymore
Devon: I'm just tired of being under his shadow all the time
Devon: even being gay was easier for him. Dad never treated him differently because he was not a fag like me
Adam: I understand not wanting to talk about it
Adam: do you think it might be a bit of envy, love?
Devon: you're probably right
Devon: the problem is me, as usual. No surprise there
Devon: I'll call you in the morning ok? I'm sorry, I just don't wanna end up fighting with you too and because of him
Adam: love
Adam: I'm not saying you're the problem
Adam: I'm just trying to think it through with you
Adam: please don't lock me out
Devon: I just don't think you'll get it
Devon: and maybe yes, I'm being childish but it's so damn frustrating
Devon; I just need some time to calm down ok? I'm not locking you out. I promise
Devon: I'm really sorry
Adam: can I be with you?
Adam: I don't think you should be alone, love
Adam: we don't need to talk about it
Adam: we don't need to talk at all
Devon: yes please
Devon: I'm really, really sorry for being so childish and a handful
Adam: it's okay to feel how you feel, love
Adam: you're not a handful
Adam: just a pinch â¤ď¸
Adam: I'm coming over ok?
Devon: ok
Devon: thank you for being here for me
Devon: I'm already in bed. I'll wait for you here
Adam: that's what I signed up for â¤ď¸ I love you
Adam: I'll be there in a bit
Devon: I love you too â¤ď¸
I'll cover you
TIME: September 2nd, 2024. PLACE: Adamâs place BETWEEN: Adam (@adamnvamp ) & Devon NOTES: Written on Discord.Â
Adam had spent the last few weeks thinking about it, ever since he found a guitar keychain at the convenience store near the graveyard. It looked exactly like one of Devon's guitars, the caramel one with a white streak. So he bought it, obviously. And a couple of days later he found himself making a copy of his keys, to put in the keychain. Just in case, you know? And now he couldn't stop thinking about it. So that day, when they were curled on his couch watching Monsters Inc., Adam figured the movie about magic doors was as good of a segway as any. "So I have something for you" he murmured against Devon's neck, wrapped around the fae comfortably, with Devon's back pressed against his chest. "And don't worry, you didn't miss our anniversary or anything, love, though it is coming up" he chuckled, trying to make the mood lighter.
Devon was glad Adam had agreed to have an impromptu date. He hadn't lied when he told his boyfriend that having him close helped his mind stop racing and lately his thoughts had been going faster than the F1. A silly movie and cuddles were all he needed to relax. He hummed and turned around to look at his boyfriend when he said he hadn't something for him, "really?" He asked confused, reaching for the remote to pause the movie and sit up, "I know it's coming up, I already have plans for that day," he said with a bright smile and tilted his head, "then what's the occasion?" He asked curiously wondering what was the present.
"Wait, hold up. You have plans already?" He asked, tilting his head to the side curiously "Plans with me included, I hope?" the vampire teased with a smile, unable not to when Devon offered him such a bright smile in return "Well, it's not much of an occasion, per se... And I don't want you to feel pressured about anything, ok? You don't even have to accept it. I just thought it'd make both our lives easier, and... it's not like it stops you from coming if you'd want to anyway-"
Devon laughed, "no, I'm gonna celebrate our anniversary with my other boyfriend," he said playfully, "of course you're included, silly," he smiled and leaned in to peck Adam's lips. He couldn't help but frown when Adam asked him not to feel pressured to anything, "I've never feel pressured by you to anything, Adam," he said earnestly and reached for his boyfriend's hand, "ok, I'm saying yes to whatever you're trying to say here," he teased with a grin to stop Adam from that uncharacteristically rattle, "you know, I'm usually the one who rambles a lot when nervous, what is it, baby?"
"Damn, can I already schedule an appointment for next year then?" He teased back with a brighter smile at the peck. He laughed when for once Devon was the one soothing his nerves, and he squeezed his hand reassuringly "It's just that I've had this for a few weeks and I'm just now realizing how it might seem like it has to do with our conversation from the other day, about the future" He swallowed, picking the keys from his pocket and placing them gently on Devon's free hand. "I don't want it to seem like a consolation prize, because of our disagreement. I just... don't want you to feel like you need my permission to come to this place, because... let's face it, it's as much yours as it's mine at this point." The vampire smiled, nodding gingerly towards the tv rack, where a pile of Devon's games lay under one of Devon's mug - just a tiny example of the way everywhere in the apartment he could find a bit of the fae.
"Sure thing, let me put it in my calendar," he joked simply loving how his insecurities and jealousy had pretty much disappeared, and his self-confidence was better since Adam got into his life. He tilted his head and gasped a little when Adam placed the keychain with the key in his hand, "Oh my God! No, stop, stop, it's not..." he smiled and cupped Adam's face with both hands, pressing their lips together, "it's not a consolation prize! I love it," he murmured against his boyfriend's lips, "I've been thinking about that too and I wanted to give you a key to my place, but I didn't want you to think I was pressuring you because of that exact conversation," he admitted with a blush, "how is that you always know what to say and when?" He asked with a loving smile, "are you sure you're not reading my mind?" He asked playfully.
Adam rolled his eyes, pecking his lips once more. Devon's silliness was a perfect match to his own, in every way, it seemed. And in those moments he chastised himself for doubting Devon's feelings would stay the same for their forever. Those moments, he'd say yes if Devon asked to turn him, without thinking. Those were dangerous moments. "You do?" he mumbled against his lips, chuckling into the kisses. His hand rose up to cup Devon's face and he bumped their noses together "I know you like your apartment, and it's a bit bigger than mine, but... if you ever feel like spending a couple of days or weeks or... lifetimes here, I'd love to have you" he smiled, stealing a soft kiss, then smirking playfully. "Oh, I don't read your mind, I just listen to you talk in your sleep and I take notes in my journal to use later in my evil plans"
Devon hummed happily, "Of course I do," he reassured. He listened and nodded, "I do love my apartment and honestly the only thing keeping me from moving in with you or asking you to move in with me is that I know sometimes it's too much for you to be around me," he said in an understanding tone, caressing the back of Adam's neck, "it's important for me that you have a space that is not completely saturated why my smell for your own sanity," he said in a soft tone, blushing a little. He groaned, "Oh my God! It's so unfair that you don't need to sleep so I can take advantage of that too," he complained with a pout.
Adam closed his eyes when Devon talked about his scent, the little caresses on his neck relaxing him more than the fae would ever know. "I think about that too, but sometimes spending the night away from you is far worse than any hunger I might have with you around" He squeezed Devon in his arms, hiding his face in the fae's neck and inhaling it deeply. He was way over-fed, and in those moments he could appreciate how delicious Devon smelled. But he knew it wasn't always like this. "This is a nice compromise, then? Oh, and don't you ever ask me again if you could come over, love. The answer will always be yes" The vampire promised, kissing his lips and laughing "Well, I could tell you whatever you'd like to know while I'm awake, you don't need to wait for me to sleep"
Devon smiled brightly and sighed when Adam hid his face in his neck, "those nights apart are hard for me too," he admitting melting into the embrace, "I really love waking up next to you," he said in a whisper as if it was a secret. He pulled away and nodded eagerly, "it's a perfect compromise," he grinned, "but only if it works both ways? You can also come over to my place unannounced and stay for as long as you want," he counteroffered. "Well but you'd know, and I wouldn't get to surprise you like you surprise me," he pouted again knowing that would earn him more kisses.
There was a comfortable sigh before Adam pulled away, pushing some of Devon's curls away from his forehead "Deal" he said with a smile, then stopped "Wait, but doesn't that mean that we technically live together then? Just... sharing two apartments?" The vampire grinned, enjoying the way that sounded more than he'd want to admit. The pout did earn him a couple more kisses and a chuckle "Then we'll find a way to even things out. Hypnosis, maybe? So I spill all of my dirty, dirty secrets and you finally get my pancake mix recipe?"
Realization hit Devon and his smile got even brighter, "Oh my God! That's true! We're practically living together!" He said excitedly and then tackled Adam back into the couch, peppering his face with kisses, "and here we were worried about pressuring the other when we were already living together in our own way," he said amused. Devon laughed, "no, it's ok. I'll find other ways to surprise you and I'm giving up on that pancake recipe. I like them better when you make them for me. They taste better," he assured.
Adam gave out a heartfelt laugh when he was tackled, still not used to how fast and strong Devon had become. He wrapped his arms around the fae's waist, stealing a kiss or two between sentences. "It's our thing, love. If there's something we do quite well, it's worry" he joked, then held Devon's face to kiss him properly "I love you."
"Sometimes I wish we didn't worry too much but it makes sense," he sighed getting comfortable on top of Adam's body, "we both had dealt with enough rejection and guilt that we worry it'll happen again," he caressed Adam's cheek, "but I'm glad we found each other," he melted into the kiss, "I love you too," he murmured into the kiss.
Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead
TIME: August 30th, 2024 PLACE: The Red Door BETWEEN: Adam ( @adamnvamp ) & Fredrick NOTES: Written on Discord.Â
It wasn't like he didn't have his stock at home, Adam did. But he was starting to run low on it, and he'd much rather leave some extras at home for when Devon came around than to munch at home and then be dry and around his fae - that was unacceptable. He refused to put the fae in danger, so sometimes that forced him to do socialize. That's why he ended up at the Red Door that night. The dim lights did nothing to hide the stench of blood of the place, and the first thing he noticed was the tables along the wall, a few of them with what was clearly humans getting snacked on. They seemed willing and having way too much fun to be quiet, and Adam wondered if that was what made his stomach churn in hunger. Tearing his eyes away from the sight, he moved towards the bar, sitting on a stool and nodding for the bartender to come over. He had seen him a couple of times before, and Adam liked him because he wasn't much of a talker. Except this time when he came over to ask what he wanted, Adam was struck silent by the familiar scent that came with him. Cameron. "Uh, I- Could you- Uhm- A+ please. Warm." What the fuck had that stupid fae gotten himself into!?
Freddie would have much rather ask for the night off after his brilliant idea of visiting Cameron. It wasn't enough that the fae had messed with his head making him lose control so easily. Now he had to deal with the jokes and the looks because even if he showered twice, he still had Cameron's smell all over him. And honestly he wasn't really bothered by it, but working in a place full of vampires was a problem cause they were already salivating when they smell the fae on him, "keep looking at me like that and I'm gonna kick your ass and get you banned from this place, Jim," he warned one of the vampires at the bar before moving to take another order. He arched a brow because even if he hadn't met Cameron's brother, he could sense their energy, and they were the only two fae's in town. This vampire had fae energy pouring out of him which only meant one thing, "coming right at you," he said moving to get the drink ready but still stealing glances at the blonde vampire, "there you go," he handed the tall glass with a tense smile.
Adam accepted the drink with the same tight smile, noticing the stolen glances and stealing some confused ones back. They had a back and forth staring contest for a couple of minutes while Adam nursed his drink, letting it cool down a bit, watching him move. There wasn't blood on his clothes or any other mark to show he had hurt Cameron, and Adam thought about texting Devon to check in on him, but he couldn't come up with a way to do that without worrying his fae. So there was only one option left "So, busy night?" He was terrible at small talk, so he started it awkwardly, leaning over the counter when he finished giving the drinks to the last vampire on line "I've heard people talking about faes" he mentioned, not a complete lie. Someone had commented on the scent as they got their drink, he was pretty sure "Do you happen to know something about it?"
Even though Freddie hopped this particular vampire wouldn't give him the same looks other were giving him, it didn't happen. And he had the nerve to make small talk and even ask as if he didn't know about the faes in town. If Freddie wasn't so irritated, he probably would have found it funny, but right then, he was more than annoyed. He snorted, "play dumb with someone else or ask straight out what you wanna know, my friend, because I'm not the only one who knows about the only two faes in town," he arched a brow, "to be fair, I've only met who I assume is your brother in law," he pointed with an arched brow.
Adam could appreciate straight-forwardness, but he was still surprised by how blunt the man was. Judging by the sheer amount of power that vessel held, he was sure the man didn't have anything to worry. "Well" Adam adjusted his seating, leaning against the counter "I was hoping my nose was wrong, but you seem to be smelling like him" he frowned "I was just wondering how worried should I be about his safety, that's all."
The answer was nothing at all what Freddie was expecting so he couldn't help to chuckle and shake his head, "wow! I knew Cameron was one to look for troubles since the day I met him but didn't think it was that bad that you had to ask if I smelled like him because I had hurt him," he said amused as he shook his head, feeling his annoyance melt away slightly, "it's kinda hypocrite to call me out on that smell thing when I'm sure you stink off his brother," he gave a pointed look, "so you're the infamous vampire with iron self-control to date a fae? No pun intended with the iron part," he smirked.
That statement made Adam snort a laugh and shrug "Let's just say there is a very valid reason for him to have a reputation" he let out a breath. Okay, so he wasn't dead, that was a relief. Sort of. "Oh yes, I very much do, hence why I don't come around very often. Though most drunkies buy the story of the secret fae-blood supplier from out of town, and they leave me alone. However, I think that excuse might only work for vampires" The tease made him smirk in return "Oh, I wasn't aware I was infamous, I'm flattered." Adam chuckled with himself, taking a long sip of his drink and wiping his lips on the back of his hand "I'm taking it Cameron already complained about me to you then? His weekly death threats have slowed down lately, I'm assuming you might have something to do with that?"
"Tell me about it. I met him my first week working here because he thought it was a good idea to come looking for troubles at the bar," he said rolling his eyes, "if it makes you feel better he was perfectly fine when I last saw him earlier," he said vaguely. "Don't tell them and don't take this personally but hungry vampires aren't the smarter," he shrugged, "I don't have that smell power, but I sense power and energies. That's why I could tell," he explained. "Well I've been alive for a long time and it's the first time I've heard of a vampire dating a fae so that will make you famous. Cameron only complained a little bit, but he was upset already so I'm sure it wasn't personal," he smiled and offered his hand, "I'm Freddie," he offered his name, "and I didn't do anything to stop those threats. He actually said good things when I told him more about the war between your kinds and he realized how much you love his brother. His words, not mine."
"Oh my god, he didnât- well. That actually sounds exactly like him" Adam said, running his fingers through his hair in exasperation. If Devon ever thought about stepping foot in this block, he'd already lose it. The comment on hungry vampires made Adam laugh with a pointed nod "We really aren't" he shrugged "Wait, you've never heard of it? But that's-" Adam stopped himself from saying it was easy. It wasn't easy to be with a fae, it just was easy to love Devon. "I've come to realize Cameron is always complaining, but I've been told it's one of his features, along with the arguing and the never-ending sexual innuendo glossary" the vampire teased, shaking his hand "I'm Adam, and I'll die a fourth time before I believe Cameron ever said something nice about me."
Freddie smiled and shook his head, "I lost really good tips that night cause my boss ordered me to make sure he was across town as fast as possible," he huffed amused. "To be fair, I don't make it particularly easier for them when I'm around," he shrugged and then frowned, "No. Vampires are not the best to control their hunger. Let alone near a fae so yes, you're probably one of a kind," he pointed with a serious look. He laughed at the list, "yes to all of that. We're definitively talking about the same fae," he agreed accepting the vampire's cold hand. "Well I don't wanna be responsible for killing you, but he did say a few nice things about you. But to be fair he probably thought you'd never find out it," he grinned.
"Oh I can imagine. I'm thankful you took him out of here, though. I can't imagine what he was thinking" He shook his head, then frowned "So you're the reason for it? This thirst? I felt it when I stepped inside" He wasn't sure what sort of species Freddie was, but he knew he was old, and now that was a power set he had never heard before. "Oh wow. Then I might need to circle back to that next time he's drunk around me, because I doubt he'd say any of that sober to my face"
"He was upset about his powers. Does his brother struggles with that too?" He asked curiously, wondering if Adam had to deal with those little outburst of energy. "I am. Sorry about that. It comes with the job," he shrugged apologetically, "at least it's good for the business here and no one gets hurt," he smirked. "He was already sober when he say that. I think he realized that whatever you have with his brother is powerful enough not to hurt him when he learned that not all vampires have the self-restrain you have."
Adam nodded, finishing his drink "Oh yes, they... haven't had those powers for long. I imagine Cameron is a bit more exasperated about them since fire is a lot more dangerous than water. Devon gets upset with his own sometimes, but most of the time it just ends in a change in forecast" The vampire frowned "I don't understand why being upset over his own powers would make him come here, though, if I'm being honest" he said, then asked "And what job is that, if you don't mind me asking? Adam's expression softened then "Thank you for letting him know that. I don't think he believed me much"
Freddie listened carefully, perking up a little when Adam said the name. Cameron hadn't told him his brother's name yet but now he had a little more information just in case, "Yes, Cameron complained about that. How his brother had made it rain when he has outside," he said amused. "He wanted to prove himself. To show he had his powers in control, and he could take a few vampires out. Very stupid if you ask me," he sighed with a serious expression, "made a deal with him to help him train if he stopped trying to get himself killed," he added even if they hadn't trained again. At least not the way it counted. He hummed considering what damage it could do letting the vampire know, "I don't mind you asking but I'm not sure you really want to know. Most creatures freak out. Let's just say that I'm one of the older creatures roaming the world and I have 3 siblings just as old," he smirked, "you probably met two of them in this town," he said vaguely. "No need to thank me. It's understandable. He was already dealing with accepting what they are and then finding out their mortal enemy was dating his brother? It was bound to be a hard pill to swallow."
Adam chuckled "I might've been the one to blame for that one, but I can't find it in me to say I'm sorry" he joked with a smirk, then sighed at the description of Cam's actions "Very stupid indeed. And also kinda rude he went out looking for my kind specifically" Adam huffed "Oh, and how's training going?" The hints as to what Freddie was made him think for a moment, then it dawned on him "Oh, I believe I've worked for one of them, actually. Gilmore?" He tried out, checking if he was really another horsemen. "Well it was hard for Devon too, to be honest. We dated for months while he was still human, and he was... blissfully unaware of this side of the world."
Freddie smirked, "Cameron also said that it was your fault. I think he was just upset his brother was having a good time while he was," he chuckled. "You're kind is fragile against fire. He thought he had the upper hand," he defended without noticing. "Oh wow! Really? You worked for Gil? How come they're hiring vampires?" He asked confused. "That had to be a low blow. Considering Cameron already knew about this side of the world," he said shaking his head, "I gotta say I'm impressed you dated him as human too. Man! Your self-control is amazing," he said offering a fist bump.
That actually made Adam laugh and he rolled his eyes. It was just like Cameron. Adam arched a brow when he noticed Freddie seemed defensive of Cam. He had figured they had just hooked up, was it more? "After training with him, do you think he could've handled them?" He asked earnestly, then smiled at the mention of his old boss. "Oh no no, I used to be a reaper for The Void, so I worked under Gilmore's division for a few years. The nicest boss I've ever had, to be honest" he said with a smile that got tighten at the memory of their fight "It was... a really hard time. Most of his friends were not human, and none of them told him anything, wanting to protect him" he played with his cup, then shrugged with a small smile "I wasn't a vampire back then. I was working for The Void when we met, I could barely feel anything, Devon... woke me up inside, in a way. I could never bear to hurt him."
"He's probably one of the strongest faes I've met but he overthinks a lot. Once he has his powers in control he'll be able to take any creature without problems," he said purposely ignoring again the question about training. "No way! You truly are a special creature, Adam. From human to reaper to vampire. What a journey you've had," he said honestly, "I'm glad to hear you had a good run with Gilmore. My younger sibling tends to be dry," he said with a tense smile. He listened carefully and shook his head, "I've never understood why they say ignorance is a bliss. I bet Devon was very angry to find out all the people he trusted lied to him," he said understanding a little the feeling of being left out on something. He frowned at the last part because he'd be lying to himself if he didn't feel identified by those words, "it's probably a fae thing. Even if he wasn't fae yet. They tend to bring things alive," he said with a serious expression, "I have to check the other clients, but I'll be right back," he said moving to the other vampires on the bar, serving their drinks trying to stop his mind from wondering if that was what Cameron was doing to him.
Adam was a bit surprised by the reply "That's... a bit intense" he said with a shrug, not getting further into it. "Takes a bit to get used to, but Gilmore is fair and merciful. I was dropped from The Void by my own fault, they were still very thoughtful" Adam chuckled at that "Well, if he had never found out, he wouldn't have felt angry or hurt about it. But I much rather him knowing anyway, I hate hiding things from him" Adam noticed something clicked behind Freddie's eyes and he nodded when the man left to do his job. After a few minutes, Adam called for a refill, and he used the opportunity to get a better grasp of the situation "So, I apologize if it's forward of me, but- so are you and Cameron friends or...?"
"I can tell his brother is just as strong. They both probably just need the right guidance to develop their powers properly," he said wondering if maybe Adam saw faes the way most creatures did, "faes are great warriors by nature. They're strong and fierce. They're ruthless and can be cruel but I doubt Devon and Cameron would turn out like that. They were raised humans after all. Those mental shackles are too heavy," he explained. It was clear the vampire was fond of his sibling, "I have the feeling that if you're still here is because of them. You must have made a good impression because they're not usually merciful," he added knowing that Death forgave no one. They wouldn't even forgive them if they time came. "I'm sorry for saying this but that's very selfish. I'm glad he found out. Everyone has the right to know who they're dealing with. I still don't get why we hide from human when we're the ones with the upper hand," he clicked his tongue, "I'm glad it worked for you two though," he said with a shrug. Freddie came back with a sobered expression. Adam's words tucked in the back of his head to analyze later. He smiled and nodded grabbing the glass and getting the refill ready. The question wasn't that unexpected, but Freddie didn't like. He didn't liked been questioned about his endeavors but it made sense since the vampire was somehow family bonded to Cameron, "it's alright. I can tell you worry about him even if it's only for his brother's sake," he shrugged it off, "I guess you could say we're friends even though the concept is rusty for me. I haven't been in human form long enough to make friends or anything," he explained with half-truths.
There was something there, Adam could sense it. He didn't point it out though, just nodded along as Freddie spoke passionately about faes. Or maybe one in particular. "Well I was told I was the best reaper from my division" he smiled "But I think Gilmore just... had a soft spot for matters of the heart back then. It was around the time they had a partner too" Adam shrugged, not mentioning how Uriel found a gruesome fate. "It is selfish, but people who don't know, don't suffer, most of the time" The vampire accepted the new drink with a smile "It's just that, and don't take this the wrong way, but you absolutely stink of Cameron. So I had to ask, since you said you didn't bathe in his blood or anything before coming to work" he joked with a chuckle "How long have you been non-corporeal? I remember when I first got back to having a body it took me months before I was able to feel anything."
Freddie chuckled at the comment, "can't believe capitalism made its way to death itself," he joked but his expression softened when Gilmore's partner was mentioned, "So I've heard. It looks like that funny notion of love had softened my siblings a little. Even if they price seems to be a hard one to pay," he sighed remembering both conversations with Gilmore and Warren about their lovers. "That's a lie. The suffer more because they start second-guessing themselves when their instincts tells them something is off," he cleared out. Freddie huffed and rolled his eyes, "That'll teach me not to spend time with him outside of my days off," he said annoyed still not giving more information away since the assumption was obvious. "Well before this body I was non corporeal for six hundred years or so. My older siblings and I were never fond of these human carcasses. They're inconvenient most of the time," he said with some distaste, "I'm already past that numbness. I've had this body for a little over a hundred years," he added.
That made Adam laugh "Happy reapers who get paid are better employees than sad reapers with no expectations for the future, what can I say?" He joked back, his smile fading a bit at the memory of his conversation with Devon about his life expectancy "It's a hard cost once it's over, but it's beautiful while it lasts" Adam knew too damn well that look and he smiled "Use lavender buds next time" he said, pulling out a teabag from his jacket's pocket to show him, the one he used to throw off questions while on the street "It has a similar scent profile to the fae pheromones, it might be enough to mask it, at least from drunk stupid vampires" he teased, putting the tea bag back in its pocket.
"That's a good way to put it. Just look at me, a horsemen with a job," he snorted and rolled his eyes, "if anyone had said to me this was gonna happen I would have thought them insane," he agreed. "Immortal creatures don't do well with time limitations. There aren't limitations for us so it's hard to accept. That's why I keep saying it's stupid for us to get emotionally attached to mortal creatures," he said a little bitterly knowing at least two of his siblings were totally gone. One for love and the other for grief. Freddie arched a brow at the suggestion but still had half of mind not to smile at the very smart tip, "I'll keep it in mind, thanks," he said with a half seriously expression. "Stupid vampires are the biggest thread to faes so that should do," he nodded.
Adam cheered at that downing half of his drink. Finally satisfied. "Times change" he said simply "Well, in Gilmore's defense, no one expected an archangel to be handpicked and smiled by god himself" the vampire shrugged "Warren and Maya... are a bit more complicated. But she's a witch and some of them are known to be smart enough to figure out a way to dodge death." He smiled "So I'd recommend going for a species with a larger life expectancy of you go for a forever with someone. Faes, vampires and dragons are really good choices, I've been told!"
Freddie clicked his tongue, "to think that once we ruled the world only to be turned into this joke," he said half joking. After all he never had been one to pursue power. "Gilmore should've known better than to get involved with one of God's children. He should've learned the lesson after Warren almost ended humanity when Barachiel left him," he said annoyed. "And it's clear my big brother didn't learn at all. Among all the creatures he had to fall for a human," he rolled his eyes, "for everyone's sake I hope they already have a plan for her mortality. I don't want to spend another century destroying every living creature," he said bitterly. "Well good thing I'm not like my siblings. I know well were not supposed to have emotional entanglement in this world we're supposed to destroy when the time comes," he said in a business like tone. One of his best or worse qualities was that Freddie was aware of his calling and ready to fulfill it no matter what.
Adam let him talk, frowning at the mention of Barachiel "Wait, Warren had a relationship with another angel?" He asked, curiously. "I'd much rather if you guys didn't go about killing people, thank you very much" the vampire joked, then tried and failed not to roll his eyes "Of course, that's why you and Cameron are just friends, right?"
Freddie arched a brow wondering how this wasn't common knowledge considering what it had meant in history. The biggest massacre in the world happened when Warren was heartbroken. "He did. Millenia ago. He went by another name with a different vessel back then. It didn't last nor work as it was expected. It was the darkest times and the most vicious side of my brother," he explained. "That's not for me to decide. I'm the less violent of the four. I only follow directions," he pointed simply. His expression darkened at the assumption, "that's merely a physical need. That's one of the things I hate the most about this human disguises. They come with physical needs to attend," he pointed seriously, annoyed to having to explain himself to a creature moved by blood and not brains.
"That's... harsh" he commented, figuring he'd store that information for later. Adam knew he was pushing it, and he didn't even like Cameron all that much, but still, hear Freddie talk as if he was just a piece of meat he had been rubbing off on felt wrong. "Right. Physical needs." He finished his second drink, placing the glass on the counter and gathering a couple of dollar bills, enough to pay for the drink and the tip, and placed it beside it. He just hoped Cameron wouldn't get hurt from whatever this was. "I think that's enough for me. Thank you for your hospitality, Freddie. I'll see you around."
Freddie noticed when Adam realized he had pushed too far and maybe he had been a little harsh in his answers, but he rarely got questioned about what or who he did. He noticed the money over the bar and pushed it back towards the vampire, "it's on the house," he offered with an apologetic smile, "you're friends with my siblings, it's the least I can do," he nodded in a peace offering even if the vampire had done nothing but to add to his already messed up thoughts.
Adam watched him slide the money back over and smiled "And you're friends with my brother in law" he shrugged, not picking up the money "Leave it on the tab then, for when I come back" He offered another smile, nodding at him "Have a good night, Freddie!" The vampire waved before making his way outside.

Texts: Devon & Adam
@adamnvamp
Dev: do you like kids?
Adam: hello love
Adam: it depends
Adam: playing with them? sure
Adam: roasted with sauce? not so much
Adam: why?
Dev: đ
Dev: I just love you, you know that?
Dev: I was just wondering
Dev: my dumb brother said something that made me think about kids
Dev: more specifically ours
Adam: I had a hunch â¤ď¸
Adam: ours?
Adam: oh
Adam: well
Adam: I mean
Adam: I think it might be a bit complicated, love
Adam: the logistics
Adam: because I am technically dead, you know?
Adam: not exactly meant to reproduce
Adam: but I'd love to have a mini you running around the house â¤ď¸
Adam: what are your thoughts on it?
Dev: good â¤ď¸
Dev: I know
Dev: well but what if by some reason I got turned into a vampire too? Would that mean kids would be impossible for us?
Dev: I mean, we could adopt but who would give a kid to a couple of vampires?
Dev: Sorry this is too random
Dev: blame Cameron for it
Adam: why in the world would you ever become a vampire?!
Adam: I'd assume so, yes. I'm pretty sure the swimmers stop swimming once we die
Adam: oh you'd be surprised how easy it is to convince human social assistants to do our bidding (;
Adam: adopting is very much an option
Adam: why tho? wouldn't you like to have a fae kid of your own? I mean, they'd probably always be human if you never took them to the realm anyway
Adam: yes yes Cameron is always to blame, I've learned that!
Dev: because I'm mortal and you're not? Do you even understand the lengths I'm willing to go to be with you forever if you accept me?
Dev: I'm honestly not sure IÂ want to create a fae child
Dev: does that makes me a horrible person? Not wanting my linage to go on?
Dev: isn't that illegal?
Dev: well yeah but then being human with a vampire and fae father is bound to be a mess đ
Dev: he just has this ability to make me overthink things
Adam: love
Adam: forever is a long time
Adam: I'd hate for you to be eternally bound to me as your maker if you ever changed your mind
Adam: or resent me when you realize how much of a curse it is to be what I am
Adam: you're not a horrible person at all, love
Adam: we always want to protect the ones we love, even if it's from a thread that doesn't exist, even if they don't exist yet either
Adam: you're the only person who could ever think not baring a child is illegal, love đ¤Ł
Adam: and you think a human child with two vampire dads is less of a mess?
Adam: I know đŤ it's ok
Dev: you make it sound as if I could ever stop loving you
Dev: or wanting to be with you
Dev: I just don't want them to go through the same I did
Dev: what if we tell them they're fae and the get frustrated because the are stuck as humans without ever crossing to the realm
Dev: or they grow up thinking they're human and one day the cross and like Cameron and I did
Dev: both sound terrible to me
Dev: I meant that it was illegal to convince the social services to give us a child
Dev: honestly I'm realizing it'll be a mess either way đ
Dev: I'm sorry I brought this up
Adam: I don't want to assume you won't, love
Adam: I don't want to make you bound to me against your will
Adam: well, we could raise them telling them exactly what they are and what we are, and once they get old enough to make a choice, they decide if they'd rather cross to the realm or not
Adam: đđđ
Adam: ah well
Adam: we won't be convincing them to give us a child, we'd just make sure they don't disqualify us just bc of prejudice
Adam: no no please don't be sorry
Adam: living is messy
Adam: and I'd love to be in the mess with you
Dev: but it wouldn't be against my will
Dev: would you really like us to have a child of mine?
Dev: the word prejudice is a bit small in this case tho but I do have a brother who is a lawyer in sn matters
Dev: he should come handy if we need him to
Dev: being with you makes the mess worth it â¤ď¸
Dev: are you busy?
Adam: I still worry you'll regret it, but
Adam: I'm selfish and forever with you seems amazing
Adam: so if that's what you want, I'd give it to you
Adam: but let's simmer on that idea for at least a couple of months? just to make sure
Adam: true true Cameron could come in handy
Adam: I'm never too busy for you, love
Adam: what do you have in mind?
Dev: good! Because I'm not planning on letting you go unless you specifically ask me to
Dev: I just want us to be happy. Kids or not. It could always just be us â¤ď¸
Dev: I never really considered kids until now. I didn't think I could be a good father
Dev: yeah. He's good at his job but don't tell him I said that
Dev: could you come over? Or could I come over?
Dev: it's easier to stop overthinking these kind of things when you're close đĽš
Adam: I hope you have a chain then, to get comfy while you wait, bc that day won't come, love
Adam: I, for one, think you'll be a wonderful father
Adam: And they'll be the most talented kid of their age, if they're anything like you
Adam: đ¤Łđ¤Ł I'm sure he wouldn't believe me if I told him that, so your secret is safe with me
Adam: of course
Adam: give me ten minutes and I'll be there
Adam: with snacks â¤ď¸
Dev: good. We just established we don't want to be apart
Dev: I'm very ok with that btw
Dev: you're biased but thanks đĽ°
Dev: it'll be ok if they're not tho. I never wanted to stress my kids the way dad did to us
Dev: good! Thank you đ
Dev: ok! Thanks. You really are the best
Adam: me neither â¤ď¸
Adam: love, their dads are a musician and a keeper of a graveyard
Adam: I think we cover pretty much the whole spectrum of professions the parents don't want us to be đ¤Ł
Adam: I just really love you
Adam: be there soon â¤ď¸
Dev: well you were a lot more than just a graveyard keeper. You still are. Just because you can't do that job anymore doesn't mean your talent is gone
Dev: I'm never gonna get tired of you telling me that â¤ď¸
Dev: ok!
Midnight Rain
TIME: April 16th, 2024. PLACE: Adamâs place BETWEEN: Adam ( @adamnvamp ) & Devon NOTES: Written on Discord. NSFW.
Vampires didn't need to sleep, that was one of the very few things they had in common with reapers. The thing was, once you date a human-adjacent person, you get used to certain rituals. Like buying groceries when you don't necessarily have to eat human food or taking out the trash and making small talk with the neighbors or sleeping. He'd never understand why he was able to sleep, or if that was considered sleeping if you didn't have a circadian rhythm in the first place, but Adam was able to fall into a sleep-like state, almost meditative, when lying in bed with Devon snoring softly in his arms. It got dangerously close to sleep though, since he had been told he spoke a couple of nonsensical sentences once or twice before, in his sleep, had tossed and turned during incredibly realistic nightmares and even drooled.
Those were rare occasions though, so when his nostrils were intoxicated with the most delicious smell he had ever known, he didn't question it. And when his lips touched such delicious skin, the only logical thing to do was to part them to get a better sense of it. And when his fangs dropped and found themselves scrapping against the soft, warm skin of his boyfriend, he was still too deep in his slumber to notice.
Devon was still adjusting to his new nature. It was still very similar to his human old self. He still needed to eat and sleep like any other living creature. The funny part was that his boyfriend didn't fall into that category. Adam was still unalive. Just like he had been when they met all those months ago, but he still tried to adapt to Devon's rhythm.
The fae was the luckiest in many ways. He sometimes still believed he didn't deserve to be forgiven by Adam after the two big fights they had but still, Adam was still there. they had almost moved in together, so it wasn't new to fall asleep being Adam's little spoon.
His body reacted before his mind could catch up. He pressed his body closer to Adam's tilting his head when he felt those lips on his neck but as soon as the sharp fang made contact with his now oversensitive skin. Devon almost jumped form the bed, sitting up and turning on the lamp with a worried expression on his face, "Adam? wake up," he murmured keeping some distance unsure of how was the vampire was gonna react.
Adam was still a bit groggy, the supplier he had was out of his usual order of O- so he had to go with some questionable A+ and maybe it was the origin of it the issue. Maybe the person was sick or something? Or maybe he was just underfed since it tasted like day old tap water. Either way, he sat up automatically when Devon did, blinking the haziness out of his eyes. His hands lingered where Devon's body used to be, and it took a moment for the situation to dawn on him. "Love?" He asked looking at his boyfriend's scared expression, getting more alert as seconds went by, worried about Devon and completely oblivious to his own fangs that were still dropped "Are you okay? Did you wave a nightmare?"
Devon frowned when he realized that Adam was indeed deeply asleep since he had no idea what had almost happened. He swallowed hard and rubbed the back of his neck, "Your fangs," he said nervously, "Should I call Samuel?" he asked worriedly even if he was completely comfortable and even thankful about his boyfriend's sire. "I think you were dreaming... are you hungry?" he wondering realizing that Adam rarely hunts even if they had talked about some very twilight like options and his supplier of blood had been lacking lately.
Adam ran a hand across his face, blinking back sleep and his fingers stopped at his mouth, feeling his fangs. "Oh!" Quickly, he covered his mouth with a hand, as if he had a mouthful of pasta and didn't want it to spill, before working his fangs back in their hiding place. "Sorry, that- that shouldn't have happened." A deep, unusual blush creeped over his face, utterly ashamed of his lack of self-control, and Adam sat up "Did I- Are you hurt? I'm so sorry, my love, I- I didn't mean to scare you like this" Adam pulled his hands to his chest, keeping them away from Devon, as if they were weapons, too dangerous to be in the sight of his fae "No, I'm- I shouldn't be hungry" but he was "It must've been somethings wrong with... uh... my last shipment or... something."
Devon smiled a bit when Adam blushed. it was one of his favorite things, but it was harder to accomplish now Adam was a vampire. He moved closer again and reached for Adam's hand when he noticed his boyfriend was one heartbeat from panicking, "No, you didn't," it was his turn to blush, "it actually felt nice until it stung a bit," he admitted hoping Adam wouldn't notice the problem in his boxers, "I was just worried," he insisted cause the last thing he wanted was Adam to use this as a sign for them to stop sleeping together, He nodded when the other explained, "I've noticed you weaker. Maybe we should find another sources of blood," he said causally no longer feeling weirded out by the fact that Adam fed with blood. "I could just..." he trailed off and blushed harder, "if you're hungry, you could take a little snack," he smiled, "I know my blood will help a bit until we find something better," he said nervously.
Adam felt his shoulders relax a tiny bit when Devon reached out for him. That was a good sign, he thing that usually hurt the most when they had their fights was being unsure if that was the final straw, if that was the moment Devon would finally be too afraid or disgusted to let him touch the fae. "It stung?" Adam grew worried for a moment, reaching out to hold Devon's chin with careful fingers, tilting his head to the side to check if he had broken the skin. If he did, it had already healed. The sight of his bare neck sided with that offer made him swallow dry "My love" it sounded like both an endearment and a warning. The vampire let go of his chin, for a moment scared of just how much self-control he had "There is no finding something better when your blood is a delicacy" unconsciously, Adam licked his lips, remembering the last time he tasted it, almost a year ago now. "It is also quite vital for- you know- you being alive, so I'm sure most people would advise you not going around offering it to sleepy vampires in the middle of the night" It was a warning, yet slowly Adam reached for his hand, with the intent on pulling him back into his arms.
Devon nodded, "it healed now," he said knowing one of the perks of his upgrade was healing faster than humans, "it was very superficial," he added so Adam would relax. He probably shouldn't be blushing and feeling flattered about his boyfriend's words. It was a vampire talking about him like he was pray after all, but he was Adam and one thing Devon had more than sure was that he could trust Adam with his life. Even if Cameron still had his doubts. "I wasn't talking about the taste," he said shyly as he let Adam pull him back into his arms, "It would also make you feel fuller and stronger so why not let me help you just this once?" he insisted. He was suddenly very aware of the high he would feel if Adam accepted feeding from him and that made him a little giddy, "I trust you," he added just in case Adam was still doubting his self-control.
Having Devon in his arms was about to not be the best bad idea he's had that night anymore. The more he concentrated on it, the more he could hear the blood under his pale skin singing to him. "Because last time we had a Just this once it repeated for a good five times in a moth and you ended up being on withdrawal for weeks" he replied, just as his brain added that, if it was just this once, it would probably not be enough for such harsh side effects. Or maybe Devon would grow endurance to it. He raised a hand, running his fingers through his dark curls "Because there's no way I can have it safely without poisoning you without a transfusion bag. You can grow addicted to it" his hand slid down to the hair at the nape of his neck, gentle fingers running softly along the skin "Because I don't want you feeling used, I don't want to just- take something so precious from you, just because I can." It was odd when he realized that Because I don't know if I can stop wasn't one of his reasons anymore. He knew he could, pretty much living with Devon for the last year had done it to him, though he couldn't pin point exactly when that happened "Because you're supposed to be asleep and I'm supposed to be behaving and letting you sleep?"
Devon knew Adam was right about all the reasons he was listing. He even blushed when he was reminded that the last time, he let Adam feed on him it happened more than once, and he shivered at the memory. Especially those memories that involved way more than just feeding. "I'm not gonna get addicted to it. It's different now than when I was human," he added trying not to sound needy. "I won't feel used if I'm the one offering," he pointed knowing he had at least one valid point. "It's ok if you don't think it's a good idea. I just thought maybe it would help..." he sighed and leaned against Adam's chest and closed his eyes.
Adam wouldn't argue, so he just stayed in silence. Resolute.
His resolve lasted a total of 14 seconds, he counted it. And then he was pulling Devon closer against him, tilting his face up to kiss his lips, and in the blink of an eye Adam found himself rolling them around in the bed, crowding over Devon's body, settled between his legs. He nipped at the fae's bottom lip as he pulled back, one hand propping himself up against the bed, the other grabbing delicately Devon's left hand, turning his pulse towards the vampire and laying a kiss just under his palm. "You can tell me to stop at any time, you know that, right love? Just say the words and I'll stop" he asked, grasping at the remaining lucidity in Devon's eyes.
It all happened too fast, and Devon might or might not have moaned when Adam was crowding over him, kissing him and grabbing is hand as if he was made me glass. He was blushed again and nodded, "I trust you," he murmured softly, "I'll tell you if it's too much," he promised with a smile.
Adam leaned his own cheek against Devon's open palm, closing his eyes and taking a deep calming breath when Devon said he trusted him. Yes, Devon was known for not having a perfect trust compass - a great example is how he just had offered himself for a vampire to drink dry - but he loved him. He trusted Adam even when Adam didn't trust himself. With a nod, he let his fangs drop and leaned in, placing soft kisses under his ear down to his pulse point, to then let his teeth sink into the warm flesh. The moment Devon's blood gushed out of the wound and hit his tongue Adam noticed the mistake he made. He hadn't realized before, but this was the first time he had Devon's blood after his boyfriend's fae DNA was awakened. If his blood was delicious before, now it was heaven. It awakened his body, touched his soul in a way nothing should be able to, and the vampire found himself moaning, pressing his shirtless body flushed against Devon's, his free hand running through his curls to tug on them slightly, keeping him in place as to not hurt him more with unwanted movement.
Devon wasn't really nervous. He was more aroused than he would ever admit, and the moment Adam sunk his fangs on his flesh, Devon was sure Adam had noticed. Probably because of the wanton moan that left his lips or the way he arched against Adam's cold body.
If the bite had been like a drug when he was human, this time it was even better. Or worse depending on the person. But for Devon was fantastic. His new sense it was the most mind-blowing experience of ecstasy he ever felt from something that was technically not sex related. Without really thinking, he wrapped a leg around Adam's hips, pulling him closer as he whimpered at the rush of vampire venom in his veins and how good it felt.
Adam complied, rolling his hips down against Devon's when he all but pulled him in. The sounds he was making were just glorious and went straight to his groin, but Adam had to keep himself in check. Couldn't let himself go or else he didn't know where it could end. So with one more thrust he pulled himself back, licking the wounds closed and wiping at the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand. It was something he's learned from the last couple of times they've done it. Back then Adam didn't know how to stop and just gave Devon a spike of adrenaline, all at once, this time he'd savor it. So he let the venom run through his bloodstream, stablishing his high, and kissed his lips to give them a moment to breathe, which seemed counter-intuitive, but it worked, if Devon's reaction was any indicative. Breaking the kiss with a tiny moan, Adam leaned against his ear, nipping at his earlobe with a question "How are you feeling, love?"
Devon moaned louder when Adam rolled his hips against him. His blush deepened when he realized Adam would notice how hard he was.
When Adam pulled his mouth away from his neck, he whimpered in complain, missing the mix of pain and pleasure but his hands moved to cares Adam's back and neck, "you're warm now," he sighed groggily. He opened his eyes only to show his pupils all blown with pleasure as he smiled before answering, "fantastic... how are you feeling?" He asked pulling Adam from the neck to kiss him again cause it was like he couldn't have enough.
Oh, notice he did. Adam cursed the maker of those stupid boxers and his entire lineage as he let his hips roll down slowly, chasing after some friction. "Am I?" He was surprised when he leaned down to press his forehead against Devon's, the fae didn't feel as warm against him, their temperature balancing out. "That's what you do to me" he murmured playfully, sure the sight of those lust blown eyes would follow him through the nights he spent alone. Adam pondered for a moment the answer of his own question, doing his best to connect words into phrases with Devon's expert lips sucking all concentration out of him "Alive" he said, simply, against his lips. His skin was buzzing with electricity, with sheer power, and he felt like he could save the world or burn it down in one snap of his fingers. "How much... would you say... you like the pieces of cloth that you're wearing right now, my love?" he asked in a lower register, one hand trailing up from Devon's waist, raising goosebumps in its wake and rolling up his tank top with the movement.
Devon nodded eagerly, "you feel so warm against me now," he sighed and almost beamed when Adam told him that was what Devon did to him, "I just want to make you feel good," he assured as goosebumps covered his skin.
He smiled when Adam said he felt alive, "good," he gasped reaching to bury his fingers into Adam's hair, "I don't care about it, I wanna feel you," he groaned annoyed at how the fabric now felt raspy and uncomfortable against his sensitive skin.
So much for just a snack.
Adam moaned when Devon's hands found his hair, a wicked smile on his lips when the fae said he didn't care about his clothes. He'd get him some new tank tops later, it was fine, he assured himself, as he smiled wickedly with a murmured "Perfect", his fangs poking from behind his smile, before tearing the offending fabric apart. In a couple of seconds, Devon's glowy skin was at his reach and Adam kissed every patch of skin he could find, the heartbeat beneath his lips spurring him on. With a smirk, he tugged on Devon's nipple between his teeth, wondering just how desperate he could make him before he gave the poor fae a heart attack "I wish I could describe just how you taste, my love. There is not a single thing in this Earth that compares to you" he breathed out against his skin, kissing his way down his stomach, possessive hands following his trail down his sides. He didn't hesitate when he reached his underwear though, tugging at the hem with his teeth before letting it snap back against his navel, completely aware of the desperate cock hiding poorly underneath the fabric "I wonder what shall I do, with you at my mercy like this, my love"
Devon wasn't sure how Adam always found a way to drive him crazy with want and lust. Before him, Devon wasn't this confident or open to ask for what he wanted but he finally feels free and like himself.
He moaned louder lust in time with a thunder echoing in the sky when Adam ripped the tank top off his body, "yes!" He gasped squirming wanting to feel Adam skin against his own, but it was clear his boyfriend had other plans.
Devon almost came on his boxers when Adam decided to tease his nipple and tell him how unique he was for his boyfriend, "or to you," he added with his eyes now closed, almost completely blissed out. He arched is back when the vampire played with his underwear but still didn't touch him where he wanted him to, "Adam please," he begged desperately.
"Please what, my love?"
Devon bit his lip and whimpered when Adam asked like that. As if he didn't know how much Devon wanted him. Needed him. He squirmed and swallowed hard trying to catch his breath before answering, "please touch me... I feel like I'm gonna die if you don't touch me," he begged desperately as another thunder broke the silence of what it seemed to be a calmed spring night.
Adam let out a small sound, something like a growl, when he heard Devon beg. He knew it was mean for him to ask him to say what he wanted, but he wanted to make sure the man was lucid and willing, it was asking for consent, even if that wasn't what he said. The couple of thunderclaps didn't go unnoticed by the vampire and he smirked, amused at how the best part of the town would be affected by Devon's powers, unaware of what they mean. "I'll give it to you, my love. Anything you want" he promised, palm cupping his boyfriend, providing him with the smallest bit of friction, indenting on easing him into the feeling as to not overwhelm him.
As if that was possible right now.
In a couple of seconds he took him out of his misery, ripping the boxers with the help of his fangs, clean into two pieces that were thrown away right after. His now not so cold hands slid from Devon's waist to his thighs, pushing them apart so he could find a comfortable place to lay down on his stomach, settling the fae's legs over his shoulders. Before Devon could comment on their change of position, he took him in his mouth, bobbing his head up and down a couple of times, fully aware the fae probably wouldn't last long - that was okay, it wasn't like that was the only orgasm he was planning on giving Devon that night.
Devon was about to say something else but as soon as Adam touched him, even over that piece of clothing, all that came out from his lips was a strangled noise as his arched into the touch, gasping for air.
It was too much but at the same time it wasn't enough. Even when Adam got him fully naked, Devon still felt like he needed more. He willingly spread his legs making space for Adam, his hands moving over that pale warm skin, trying to pull him closer but had other plans.
That sinfully perfect mouth wrapped around his painfully hard cock and Devon was gone. He tried his best to hold back but everything was too much. He was too turned on and too sensitive so within minutes he was spilling into Adam's mouth as a thunderstorm unleashed over the town.
Adam had the feeling he was going to start liking thunderstorms. He swallowed all Devon gave him, pulling back for a moment to lick his lips and give him time to recover from oversensitivity. "Still with me, love?" the vampire asked with a smile, moving his hands to knead Devon's asscheeks with his fingers, comfortably, almost lazily. He watched the man recover his breath, placing kisses near his knee, making his way up to his thigh "You know, vampires usually bite people on the neck, because it's the only vulnerable place usually out in the open" Adam said, as if he was commenting about the weather "but there are other key points... I wonder if they feel different." He assumed they would, since the venom would reach his heart at different speed and concentration depending on where it got through his bloodstream. Dropping his fangs, he bit at the inner side of Devon's right thigh, sinking his fangs into the flesh carefully, one hand moving to his knee to keep him still.
Devon was still struggling to recover, and he was sure it was because of the venom that had enhanced his sense even more. Sex with Adam since his fae side had been awakened was fantastic but this time it was a whole new level. He was sure his human heart wouldn't have been able to handle it for long. He nodded at the question, swallowing hard as he tried to remember what words were only to hum and raised his head enough to look at Adam between his legs. Just that view was all he needed to start hardening again.
He wanted to ask for it. He wanted to know how different it might feel but it was as if Adam could read his mind and then he felt those fangs again, making him throw his head back and cry out in pleasure as the warmth of Adam's venom filled his veins again.
That sound was all the incentive he needed. This time, though, Adam had to pace himself. He drank less than before, being careful to lick the wound close soon, as the blood flow was much faster and much easier for his love to bleed out - which was so not the point. Still, he let the warmth fill him up, unaware of the golden-yellow tint his eyes had gotten thanks to the fae blood now in his system. "I take it it's better" he breathed out with a smile, somehow breathing faster even though there were no exertion on his part. With a smirk at Devon's new found erection, Adam climbed up him once more, a small moan escaping his throat when their chests finally were pressed together. "So perfect" he hummed, kissing his lips deeply, with no rush. Savoring Devon.
Devon struggled to open his eyes just in time to look just Adam climb on top of him. Their eyes locking together as he smiled, "you're so beautiful," he slurred drunkenly before moaning at their feeling of their skins to touching.
Without even thinking, Devon wrapped both legs over Adam's hips as he cupped his face with both hands while they kissed. He felt completely drunk on Adam's smell and how perfect he felt against him. "You. You are perfect, so perfect for me," he murmured between kisses as he started squirming under his boyfriend, "I need you. All of you," he sighed reaching between them to wrap his hand around Adam's cock, stroking him clumsily.
The compliment was slurred, but it made Adam smile. If he was being honest, he felt a drunk himself. His vision was blurred around the edges and time seemed to slow down and pick up every couple of minutes, but it was still a wonderful experience. The squirming made him chuckle, but it was soon broken by a gasp when suddenly Devon had his fingers wrapped around him, taking him by surprise. So much for vampiric reflexes. "Is that so?" he breathed out, breaking their kiss to pull back so he was able to fumble through the side table to find lube, his hands moving at their own accord. "You're going to have to let me go if you-" the vampire was going to motion to the legs wrapped around him, but he was distracted by the fae's lips, so after a few messy kisses he settled for rolling them around in the bed, so he'd have a better access to the most perfect ass in the world. "There you go"
Devon whined in complaint when Adam said he was gonna need to let him go cause the last thing the fae wanted was to have his lover away from him. The good thing about him not being a fragile human anymore was that Adam was a little less careful with him so he only gasped when the vampire rolled them around and suddenly Dev was more than ready to ride Adam but soon, he was reminded that he needed proper preparation. In his state he was about to suggest to skip it. He knew he could take it and it wasnât like it had ben that long since the last time. He wiggled his ass a little and sat on Adamâs thigh, reaching to wrap his fingers on Adamâs cock again, stroking him slowly as he locked eyes with him, âI want to make you feel good,â he sighed, âWill you let me?â he asked as he bit his bottom lip to keep himself from smiling devilishly.
The moment his eyes locked onto Devon's the vampire started to wonder who was the prey. Something told him it wasn't the little fae anymore. "I-" he tried to reply, fumbling to open the cap of the lube, but his words died in his mouth and only a moan came out when Devon started stroking him again ."You-" he tried again, licking his suddenly dry lips, impossibly horny at the sight of his boyfriend, gloriously naked and glowing in the dim light, on top of him. "Go ahead, love. I'm- I'm all yours."
Devon was deeply please when Adam paid no resistance and just reminded him that he was his. Those words never failed to make him shiver of how deep the meaning was to him, âAnd Iâm yours,â he sighed as he kept stroking Adam, watching closer the expression of pleasure on his face. He shook his head when noticed Adam struggle with the lube tube, âno, itâs ok,â he moaned, âI can take it,â he smiled woozily as he moved closer and raised his hips to align himself with Adamâs cock and then he waited just for a heartbeat to get Adam to nod before lowering himself onto Adam, groaning at the slight burn but going in slowly to get used to the stretch.
Adam threw one arm up at that promise, instinctively covering his face as he moaned and thrust his hips up, like a horny teenager. A faint blush was creeping down his neck, the skin reacting to the new life injected onto it and the sheer need in his bones. His mind took a moment too long to understand what Devon was talking about and he nodded along, but nothing prepared him for the tight heat that enveloped him the next second. The sound of Devon's name rang in his ear, and it took a moment for him to realize it came from his mouth. His fangs dropped, the tube was discarded where it was and his hands flew to Devon's hips, fingers squeezing a bit too tight, wanting to take him just as much as he wanted Devon not to hurt himself. "Fuck" he breathed out, his accent coming out thick "You... are going to kill me like this, love"
It was a rare sight to have Adam like that. Devon still struggled to feel confident to be the one initiating things sexually but once things were like this and he felt so drunk on his boyfriend's smell and venom it was like a darker and freer side of him was taking over. He moaned as he was completely filled by Adam and then smirked, "that's not what I want," he pouted a little, "I want to make you feel good. Make you feel alive again and again," he sighed as he rolled his hips and clenched around Adam's thickness, carefully watching every single response from his boyfriend.
Giving Devon power was a dangerous game and Adam was sure he was losing. "Again and again?" He tried with a moan, completely fine with losing as he sat up, giving Devon the time to adjust. "And here I thought you were the composed one" the vampire all but breathed out before pulling him by the back of the neck into a messy kiss. The hand that was still gripping his waist pulled their bodies flushed against each other when Devon clenched around him, a deep moan escaping his lips just to be swallowed by Devon. "Love" he pleaded, hearing the unexpected rainstorm start outside, his self-control slipping through his fingers "Please"
Dev only nodded eagerly even if the implications of his words were dangerous. In that moment he really didnât care about anything else than how it felt to be with Adam like this. He stopped for a second to look at Adam with a confused expression and then smirked, âI never claimed to be a gentleman,â he teased unsure where this boldness was coming from but something in his head was telling him that Adam would like this side of him. The kiss took his breath away but in the best possible way and he only pulled apart when he felt his lungs burning, unlike Adam he actually still needed to breath. He pressed their foreheads together and started to move paster, bouncing on top of his loverâs hips as he gasper for air, âplease what? Take what you need... take everything from me, take me, Iâm all yoursâ he whimpered.
"That's fair" he chuckled for a moment, cutting himself off with a moan when Devon started picking up the pace. He really didn't have an ounce of self-preservation, did he? Those words were too much, those were promises that had been shared in moans and stolen glances, silent for the best part of the year. Who'd have thought that all of them would come spilling out of his fae the moment he was properly intoxicated. Adam laid back down onto the bed, using his grip on his boyfriend's waist to pull him down as he rolled his hips up, meeting him halfway and going impossibly deeper. There was a constant stream of gasps and undignified moans spilling out of his mouth, and Adam wasn't sure he was in control of his own actions. His hands moved to Devons wrists, placing one of the fae's hands on his own chest, for leverage, and pulling the other to his lips. He enlaced their fingers, kissing the back of his hand before sinking his fangs on his forearm, eyes glued onto Devon's.
The heavy rain outside shouldâve been the best indicator for Devon to get himself back in check. It was clear he had lost control and that would probably turn really bad too soon, but he was too far gone to care, completely lost in ecstasy for Adam. He let the vampire pull him closer and just as he pressed his hand over Adamâs chest he felt it. Something he hadnât felt since he started dating Adam and now, he couldnât wrap his mind around the fact that he hadnât noticed before. There was a light buzz there where his heartbeat should be, and this was the very first time he had noticed it. For some reason Adamâs words from before clicked inside Devonâs intoxicated mind and touched him deeply. Adam was indeed alive because of him and if that wasnât trigger enough for him to reach his climax, Adamâs fangs on his forearm was the last strand before Devon was spilling between their stomachs, clenching around Adam as he literally screamed his name gasping for air before collapsing over his lover completely spent and maybe a little too high for his own good.
Nothing could have prepared Adam for the sight that was Devon riding him like that. His scent, his taste, the sheer glossy heat emanating from him, it was all too much. Everything around him was Devon and then he was squeezing around him, and Adam thrown his head back, letting out a cry of his name that left his throat hoarse. He knew the moment Devon had found his release because of the thunderclap outside, and just as he did Adam followed suit. It was the most intense orgasm he's ever gotten, and for a moment Adam thought he had died for the third time, his eyes taking a moment to adjust to the sudden and utter darkness.
Because the power of the whole town had went out.
Devon was only mildly aware of the feeling of Adam spilling inside of him. His mind going into short circuit at the pleasure pulsing through his veins. He was sure he had never felt that spent in his whole life. Nor in the last year of his new life. This was probably the most intense session theyâve ever had and just the idea of doing it again made him moan against Adamâs now warm neck. He opened his eyes and noticed the darkness. He was able to see in the dark, but something wasnât right, and it was until then that he heard the storm outside. He more accurately felt it. He felt the power of the water pulling at him as he blinked and groaned when he realized the power was out and that he had caused a bit of a mess a lot bigger to fix than the stained sheets, âI did that, didnât I?â he asked still in a slightly slurred voice.
Adam took a minute to catch his breath, his body now confused as to if he needed air or no. For all he knew, all he needed was right there, between his arms. Slowly, Adam tugged on their joined hands, licking a wide stripe over the blood that was still trickling down his forearm and then sealing the wound carefully. "I'm afraid you did, yes, my love" he said after clearing his throat and finding his voice back again, a stupid smile glued to his stupid face. Gently, he pulled out of Devon, moving him the least possible, just so the fae could lay comfortably on top of him, both his arms holding him safely. "Are... how are you feeling, love?"
Devon hadnât even noticed that he was still bleeding until Adam licked the wound close and made him shiver, âthanks,â he rasped out before pushing himself up enough to look to the window, âdamnâŚ. I need toâŚâ he took a deep breath and tried to focus to command the rain to stop but his mind and body weâre completely exhausted and even a little dulled due the venom so it didnât worked out completely but at least the storm dimmed enough to turn into a softer rainfall, âCam is gonna kill me,â he murmured with a groan as he hid his face into the crock of Adamâs neck again, feeling too comfortable to move at all, âIâm fantastic but I might need a few days to recover,â he said playfully placing some kisses on the vampireâs neck, âand you? Are you less hungry now?â he asked with a smirk.
Adam watched him carefully, arms at the ready to hold him in case Devon had some absurd idea of leaving this bed in the next five hours. "You don't need to do anything" he added, pulling Devon against his chest "It rains sometimes, people are used to storms and power outages, they'll manage" he assured the fae, a chuckle escaping his chest at the mention of Cameron "To kill you he'd have to reach you and I doubt he'd touch you with a ten foot pole if he finds us like this" He teased, running his fingers through Devon's curls. "Me? Oh, I doubt I need to feed for the next couple of weeks, my love." Adam said softly, kissing whatever patch of skin he could find. His smile slowly dropped as he noticed the damage he's done, the bruises and bite marks. "I should've held back though, I'm... I apologize, love, I didn't mean to hurt you"
Devon shook his head. He still felt bad for affecting others with his powers but sometimes he just couldnât control it, âItâll calm down soon,â he murmured softly as he took another deep breath, just enjoying their mixed scents, âI donât wanna cause troubles,â he murmured doing his best to push the guilt away and just enjoy their afterglow. It was impossible not to laugh at Adamâs very convincing point, âHeâs still gonna yell at me a bit,â he joked even if deep down he knew the reason for the yelling was not gonna be the raining. He almost beamed when Adam said he probably wasnât gonna need to feed for a couple of weeks, âgood, Iâm happy to help,â he grinned. He felt the atmosphere changing and Adamâs smile faltering and it was just then when he noticed his state. He wasnât really hurt but he knew how it look in his now paler skin, âYou didnât hurt me,â he assured with a smiled, âit felt good⌠itâs different now,â he said simply not wanting Adma to worry too much, âItâll be healed in the morning,â he assured a little sad that now he healed faster.
Adam hummed along, pressing a kiss to his temple when Devon mentioned his guilt "You're not causing troubles. You're giving the plants some much needed refreshment. Besides, it's what-" he looked around at his alarm clock "Almost 4am. If anyone is awake by now, they either shouldn't or whatever they're doing doesnât need that much light" he teased, trying to sooth his worries. The vampire let out a sigh when Devon assured him, always trying to make him feel better. "Thank you, love" he said simply, yet honestly, leaning down to seek his lips for a kiss. "I'll take care of you" Adam promised, simply "Though to do that right now, you'd need to let me leave the bed, so I could clean you up"
Devon chuckled at his boyfriendâs words cause maybe he had a point but still, he knew he had to control himself now he had the power to hurt others without meaning to, âI just hope no baby animals at the forest got hurt,â he pouted. He hummed happily at the kiss, feelings his lips tingle deliciously at the touch, âwould it really be that bad to sleep like this?â he asked not wanting to move until he felt Adamâs cum leaking down his thigh making him scrunch up his nose, âok, maybe you are right and I need to move,â he groaned using all his remaining  strength to roll himself off of Adam and fall to the mattress with a gasp at the tenderness he was feeling on his ass.
Adam chuckled at that. The storm and the power outage could've caused a lot of destruction, yet Devon's worry was about baby animals in the wild. That was the person Adam had fallen prey to a few minutesâ prior. "I'm sure they're all fine, love" he assured him sweetly with another kiss. He did his best to help the other lay down gently, sure he'd be feeling sore for at least the next day or two. "It'll only be a minute, my love" he said, trying not to show just how much of the opposite he was feeling. Now topped off with the highest quality of fuel, Adam felt strong, healthy, almost caffeinated. Quickly, he went to the bathroom to get himself clean, then brought a warm soapy towel to the bedroom. With an apologetic smile, he grabbed the remains of Devon's tank top and boxers and threw them to the floor, then joining him back in bed. Meticulously, Adam cleaned the fae's skin, making sure to wipe away the little patches of dry blood here and there and shower in kisses wherever he found a mark, being it a hickey, a bruise or a bite. Once he finished, Adam went to the bathroom to dispose of the towel, and with a short stop at the kitchen he came back with a plate of cookies, fruit and a bottle of water. "There you go" he said softly, unsure if Devon had fallen asleep or not. Adam climbed into bed with him, bringing the fae to his lap so they could snuggle comfortably while mostly sitting up. He opened the cap of the water bottle and held it to Devon's lips expectantly.
He tried not to worry too much when Adma reassured him everything was fine and then he tried to relax as he waited for his boyfriend to come back to the bed. He was always so gentle with Devon.no one had ever been that careful or interested on taking care of him the way Adma did. And the best part was that he didnât make him feel useless or dumb for being babied as he was doing right now. Adam seemed happy to treat him with that much love and care and it only made Devon fall deeper in love with the vampire. The kisses were too clear to miss. He knew Adma felt guilty, so he stirred and opened his eyes and reached for Adamâs face to make him look at him, âIâm fine. I promise,â he assured, âIâm not that fragile anymore,â he smiled, âplease donât regret this,â he asked softly. He probably didnât realize that his words now carried some power. Some persuasion he didnât have before. Or maybe he did, but not to this magnitude. He almost fell asleep when Adam left the bed again but came back with snack for him and he almost laughed, wanting to tell him he felt like he had just donated blood cause those were the same snacks they used to give him at the hospital. In a way it was true, so he didnât argue and took a few sips of water when Adam brought the bottle to his lips, âIâm not really that hungry, Iâm sleepier actually,â he said not wanting his boyfriend to worry too much.
Adam stopped his ministrations when Devon held his face, something pulling him to comply, so he sighed and nodded. "I don't regret it. I just wish I didn't hurt you. I like to think I'm more civilized than this" with another peck he moved to the bathroom. He was grabbing their snack when he realized what Devon did, and that amused him. Of course both species have persuasive powers, he had always kept his in check not to manipulate Devon, but it was funny how his intoxicated boyfriend somehow worked his own out enough to persuade him. "Two pieces of papaya and I'll let you sleep, how does that sound?" he offered, holding the fork with a tiny square of the fruit stabbed into it for him. "You did lose blood, I can't in good conscience let you go to bed without at least recover some fluids and sugars, love" He offered him the fruit, pecking his lips after he ate, just to get him another.
âYou didnât hurt me,â he pointed again, âit didnât hurt, it felt good, and I wanted it,â he insisted hoping Adma could see in his eyes that he meant every word. He wanted to argue and say no but the last thing he wanted after such a wonderful night was to keep Adam worried about him, âok, fine just two and then we sleep, deal?â he said with a silly smile, his eyes feeling heavier every past second. He ate the fruit and kissed Adam happily once the vampire was satisfied with him drinking and eating enough not to feel bad in the morning, âI donât wanna go to work,â he complained when he realized he only had a couple of hours of sleep as soon as they were snuggled together again.
"Two and then we sleep" he agreed with a smile. Adam fed him gently, then put the water and the snacks on the bedside table, in case Devon wanted them during the couple of hours left in the night, and then shuffled them in bed, so they'd be laying down properly, still holding Devon in his arms. "Well, there was a power outage and some pretty heavy rain. If for some reason you were caught in the rain - maybe coming back from a gig - it'd be very plausible that you had caught a cold" he spoke lowly, a smile on his lips as he rubbed circles across his skin. "Now all you need to focus on is resting, my love. I can call your boss in the morning; say you have a fever or something. It's not like you've been sick in the last year anyway."
It was hard not to feel a little bad about the power outage, but he didnât regret what had caused it, âWhy are you so smart and making so much sense right now?â he asked in a sleepy voice as he buried his face into Adamâs neck, âWould you really do that?â he asked glad to know he wouldnât have to deal with calling himself, âhave I told you how amazing you are and how much I love you in the last hour?â he asked before yawning.
That made Adam laugh "Imagine I have just... drank a couple gourmet monster energy drinks" he said kissing his shoulder "Of course, love. I'll even mention the flu that's going around, might even get you a couple of days off" Adam said with a smirk, knowing the only way Devon would agree with that was if he really was still dead tired in the night. Rolling to the side, Adam pulled Devon into his arms, tangling their limbs together and covering them both with his fluffy blanket "You said a bunch of things in the last hour, I'm sure it was lost in there somewhere" he teased in a murmur, chuckling at the yawn and following suit. Damn those things were contagious. Adam leaned in then, pressing the softest of kisses to his lips "I love you more than life itself, my love" was his reply, and gently he added, bumping their noses together "Sleep well"
Devon chuckled a little, âIâm an energy drink now?â he asked a little too amused for the tiredness he was feeling. âOk, ok, that sounds believable, and I think I do need some rest,â he agreed feeling his whole body finally caught up with the exertion of their night, âgood, I donât ever want you to forget that,â he murmured with his eyes closed as he tangled his fingers with Adamâs and then smiled, âyou too⌠you do need some rest, I hope I tired you out as much as you tired me,â he murmured more asleep than awake.
