What's the one book you love to recommend to people?
Ooh, this is kind of tricky! It depends on the person, and what they're comfortable with/interested in. So I'll share a couple of my go-tos that I recommend for different things/people!
One of the series that I absolutely love has some pretty strong content warnings, so I can't recommend that to just anyone. Girls of Paper and Fire is the first book, but I always tell people to look up the content warnings to make sure the books are safe for them.
Another book I love is The Priory of the Orange Tree, which is absolutely incredible but also really fucking long. So I wouldn't recommend it to people who don't have a ton of time or don't like long reads. But if you do, and magic and all that, go check it out! If you like magic and don't want something quite as long, the series Of Fire and Stars is another I love.
Girls Made of Snow and Glass or Spinning Silver is great for people who love fairy tales and want a new spin on old classics. Ash is also really good in that vein.
That's just a sampling of some of my favorite books, but there's so many I could go on forever! If you're interested in anything specific not mentioned here, I'm sure I could come up with something!
