sorta in the spirit of 'we can make him weirder' but also sorta in the spirit of 'we/y'all need to draw more on actual canon and not your made up canon, man': I genuinely think people don't make Q flawed enough generally, but more specifically to what I'm thinking -- I don't think people make Q weird and paranoid enough.
Granted, we get this from Tanner so it's not first-hand, but Tanner specifically says, "Q wasn't exactly feeling at home in Whitehall, what with the new merger; so, he set up shop here, away from prying eyes, as it were."
What we can gather from this is, Q is a paranoid little bastard who, when feeling threatened, or, god forbid, observed. will in fact uproot everything and go to ground. as it were. lol. (very mom cat moving ALL of her kittens-coded of him, actually)
This is a key Q core trait! that comes directly from canon! and yet I feel like it's still quite rare where I see Q written with the paranoia that I think is due to him.
(on the note of he's more flawed than y'all want to make him out to be, and he's FUN that way. Q IS in fact a bossy, sarcastic micromanagey little shit. "Of course it will, put your back into it." "Don't get on the train I'm not sure he's on it. Give us a minute-" just have him get on the damned train lmao, cmon. Backseat driver-lookin ass (affectionate))
