Once upon a time, a long long time ago, magical creatures, called the Magix, lived in our forests. Nobody knew they were there, even though they were constantly helping the humans. They did it in such an anonymous fashion that everybody suspected their neighbors. Of course, people did have their suspicions, but nobody believed them. Everybody was happy, the Magix were doing their deeds, and the humans were going on living. What could go wrong?
As it turns out, a lot. One day, a curious human named Albert Wilder just had to go and upset that whole balance. He saw a fairy-and-pixie team cleaning his home for him. This had happened before, and he figured it was just his neighbors being nice.
“That’s who it was!” he thought to himself. “I have discovered magical creatures! I’ll tell everyone! I’ll be famous!” He went and gathered a camera and butterfly net from his closet and followed the fairy and pixie into the woods behind his house.
He was led into a small clearing about one mile into the woods. Everywhere he looked, all he could see was… nothing. Looking closer into a nook in the bottom of a tree trunk, he saw a little door and window! In a small bush right next to his foot, there was a tiny swing next to a wooden tower and a mushroom, and across the clearing, what looked like a fairy-sized fire pit surrounded by rocks and the smallest toadstools he had ever seen!
“Either someone has spent a darn lot of time trying to prank somebody, or fairies actually live here!” He took out his camera and snapped a few pictures. Right at this time, a fairy flew out of a cottage and ran right into his thigh.
“CLICK!” went the camera. The fairy looked up, only to see a butterfly net come crashing down. “HUMAN!” she yelled. “HELP!” Albert turned his back on the neighborhood and ran back to the town to show everyone his discovery.
Only now did the fairies decide to venture out from their homes. A visiting fairy from the Ground tribe flew away to alert the King and Queen, while everybody else investigated the crime scene. The footprints left in the center of the clearing were almost twice the size of the fairies, and while no one had seen the mysterious giant except for Willow, the fairy who was captured, they could make a decent educated guess that this thing was pretty dang big.
Meanwhile, Albert was standing in the middle of the town square waving his discovery and shouting:
“I HAVE FOUND THE FAIRIES! COME WITH ME AND WE SHALL DESTROY THEM ALL!”
No, he was not right in the head. Really anyone and everyone else would have kept it a secret.
By now, a crowd had gathered around him to see this strange creature he was holding. “Let me go… please!” squeaked Willow. But because of the size of her vocal chords (infinitesimal) she could not be heard by anyone. When Albert picked his hand up to grab a carving knife to stab her, she took her chances. She launched herself up and off of the table where she was being held, and flew 30 feet into the air. Her wings carried her all the way back to the clearing before they gave out because of the human touch.
“THEY ARE COMING FOR US!” she shouted after she hit the ground. “Please… we really need to get out of here.” This statement horrified the rest of the tribe, who had gathered around Willow after she crash landed. King Scorpius, who had come as soon as the ground fairy  had just shown up to the community, promptly waved a handful of fairy dust and the entire tribe was whisked away to the next forest community two human cities over. And just in the nick of time, because Albert Wilder and his cronies came barreling into the clearing not even two seconds later.
