It is over!!! Yesterday was the day of W15 fashion show. The show was a success! More pictures of the show will come later, here are some little teasers for what’s to come:

W15 is a fashion show organized by the 3rd year clothing design and footwear design students of HAMK, Wetterhoff. The fashion show is held at Nosturi, Helsinki 6th of may. The doors open at 19:00 o’clock. Free entry.

We got some new pictures from our happening Luovuutta Ilmassa @ Goodman shopping mall.

These photos are extremely awkward because we didn’t know when the photographer took the picture....

Yesterday we went to Tampere Arboretum Hatanpää  to do the Achtung! Bubblegum photoshoot with our two extremely beautiful models, Karoliina and Jaana! Here are some sneak peeks of our collection, the photoshoot was a success and we got so beautiful pictures of our clothes! Also huge thanks to Jyrki Järvinen who was our photographer! Super!

On Monday I went to my old practical training place where I put the boning and eyelets to the corset. They were kind enough to sell me some spiral (metal) bone and let me use their tools. Thank you Tiina and Ateljeekatu Osk!

Yesterday I finally finished the corset. Decorating took some time but they were absolutely necessary!! I am happy with the results: the corset gives a lovely front line (even if you have a small breast). 

I added some pink studs, chains etc....More is more! :D

When the corset is worn without any underclothes the back will be shown nicely!

I am almost finished with our troubled child, Crucified! It has been stressing to work with seriously challenging fabrics.... T_T But soon it will be over. I think it looks enough like in Liisa’s scetches... 

While I have been sewing Liisa has finished with the Illustrator technical drawings and she can start coloring them with Photoshop. Mad skills Liisa mad skills! 

Next weekend we will have a collection photo shoot with two extremely beautiful models and a mysterious photographer :P!

I AM SO GLAD THAT THE SEWING PROCESS IN NEARLY OVER!!!!!

we haven’t updated the blog for some while, thanks to easter holidays and other things. but, we’re back! and everything looks pretty good for the project. we have 4 garments of 7 TOTALLY ready, and soon we’ll only be missing the Ilsa corset and Crucified dress.

as you can see, Luftwaffle the greatcoat is totally finished! it looks sharp and the colour is amazing: if you see the coat red it’s a problem with my camera, Luftwaffle is very PINK, not red.

the Eva B. dress is finished with the shiny, small round buttons. please notice the pink studs on shoulders! 

Suvi did an AMAZING job with the Ilsa corset! I can tell you, sewing on those PVC boning channels was NOT easy! AIVAN MAHTAVAA! 

and work in progress, the Crucified dress! sewing on that pink PVC panel is no walk in the park, I can tell you. but this one will be finished soon as well.

Today we were working on details. We decided to make Achtung! Bubblegum tags for our clothes...needless to say, the tags came out pink and cute! Cutting out the tags and gluing them together was kind of calming experience, And fun! Lots of fun!

Then we decided to add the pink studs to Luftwaffle the greatcoat. It came out badass!!! 

The greatcoat is *nearly* finished, we will be posting out pictures really really soon! All I can say about the greatcoat: AIVAN MAHTAVAA!!! It looks so good you have no idea.

yesterday Suvi and I were at this happening called “Luovutta Ilmassa” (”Creativity in the air”). It was a part of a school course and what we did there was basically promote Achtung! Bubblegum and our forthcoming W15 fashion show. The happening was a success, there were lots of people interested of our project and we were handing out flyers and business cards

Today we were very productive and got a lot done. Suvi was sewing the greatcoat and I was working with armbands. 

working with the wool blend fabric of our coat was challenging, because it was stretching in the wrong places. 

the armbands were fun to make. 

as you can see, the coat has a great fit and it’s very very good looking! wow! check out the head wear and armband!

First I have to say that Monday made our working a little bit challenging... We made some changes to the pattern but (bold enough) started to do the real skirt without making a new prototype at first... I had many difficulties with the skirt... I had to sew the pieces of the back few times before getting them right. When we designed “the tail skirt” we didn’t think the MAKING part of it...

I used surprisingly many hours while sewing this skirt even the line of it is quite simple...

While I was sewing the skirt Liisa started to cut the pieces for the Luftwaffle greatcoat. We were shocked that it took whole 5 meters of fabric for the coat! Gladly we had that much of it...

We had a little “photoshoot” of our hats - damn they look good!

Today we started to sew the Ilsa corset. Suvi did and amazing job as usual, and I was drawing technical pictures with Illustrator. 

As you can see, I was very excited and AIVAN MAHTAVAA while Suvi was sewing the corset.

Today we started to make the Crucified dress. We ordered the fabric from eBay and the quality was not that good. In the morning we were a little bit desperate with the ironing but we decided to MAKE IT WORK like our mentor Tim Gunn would say. The sewing of the fabric was awful because it frayed very quickly. I managed to get the pieces together but I can't finish the dress before we get our PINK pvc fabric (from eBay also).

The color of the fabric is pale pink and it is VERY shiny! Our classmates described it "pervert" because it is so sweet like a cotton candy! I have to agree with the "sweet" at least... This Chinese brocade wasn't the best choice and we are glad that we don't need to use it for any other outfits! Hopefully pink pvc "cross" will crown this challenging outfit!

I had to sew ANOTHER annoying "invisible zipper"..... T_T

Next time we will start THE CORSET! Exciting and scary.....

Suvi was amazing enough to finish the PVC decorations on Eva B. dress! i can tell you sewing PVC is not easy, but Suvi did marvelous job with it! such smooth stitches and looking really good - the colour is insanely pink in person, really bright. now all this dress needs is the buttons. 

today my day started with a can of spray on clue and glitter. the goal of today was to finally finish the hats, and naturally they *had* to be covered with pink glitter! so i put my mask on and started to spray the glue and glitter on!

it was hard to capture the true sparklyness of these hats, this one shows it the best.

the golden mannequin looks pretty creepy though.

Yesterday I started to make the skirt part of Zyklon Baby outfit. I had problems with this "hidden" zipper but gladly I got some great tips from my classmate. Today I finished the skirt and I am happy with the results.

I am also happy because now I don't have to deal with the stripes anymore! It takes some time to get them right.... -_-

The stripes are meant to NOT match! I think it looks more interesting...

Now we "only" have to put the buttons and buttonholes to the blouse and then the whole Zyklon Baby is finished! One down and four outfits to go! 

I also started to make the "Eva B." dress. I was surprised (again) how PINK the fabric is! It hurt my eyes when I cut the pieces. I almost lost my nerves while attaching the buckram (fabric) with the press. Gladly the sewing was faster. We had to make changes to the pvc decorations because the first version on the collar didn't look good. Tomorrow I will (hopefully) finish the sewing part...

Here are the patterns - the color of the fabric doesn't look PINK enough here!
