i think outside of a couple of threads i have. i am going to just drop everything with ashveil ( unless asked otherwise ) in terms of writing. and stick him on low priority. ive not felt v good about him or any of the ideas i have for him honestly, or where he sits. he's a mess. i will still reply to some things here and there, but my priority rn is mostly on my original character & my multi since it's where i've felt most comfortable.

          He's  surprised-  for  a  multitude  of  reasons.  Today  was  arguable  not  a  good  day  for  him.  They  were  fortunately  far  enough  apart  he  could  manage  work  just  fine.  And  even  on  his  bad  days  he  does  his  best  to  busy  his  mind.

Just  before  the  call,  he  could  feel  the  looming  pull  of  his  patron.  It's  influence  boring  a  hole  deeper  into  him.  Connections,  leads,  evidence-  all  of  it  swirled  in  his  mind,  alongside  the  multitude  of  eyes  and  teeth  there.  A  mess  and  tangle  of  imagery,  words,  and  theories.  Along  with  it,  a  fever...  sweat  dots  his  brow,  causes  his  hair  to  stick  to  the  back  of  his  neck,  feels  uncomfortable  beneath  his  clothes.  Why'd  he  bother  putting  on  all  these  layers?  He  wasn't  going  anywhere,  wouldn't  leave.  He  couldn't  when  he  was  like  this,  when  there  was  a  very  real  risk  of  his  shadow  peeling  free.  Even  a  momentary  lapse  in  control  could  spell  disaster  if  he  isn't  contained  ...

The  ringing  of  his  phone  is  sharp,  and  sudden.  Startles  him  enough  that  it  pulls  his  thoughts  straight,  a  thin  line  he  can  grasp  more  clearly.  It  rings  a  couple  more  times  before  he  answers:  "  No,  no  ...  you're  fine.  "  his  voice  comes  out  a  bit  more  rough  than  he  wanted  it  to.  "  I  was  just  finishing  up  some  paperwork.  "

Lunch?  ...  Lunch  ...  he's  quiet  for  a  moment  too  long.  Which  gives  Luocha  room  to  continue  speaking.  And  he  was  outside.

"  I  mean  ...  you  may  as  well  come  in.  "  he  says,  leaning  back  in  his  chair.  Ash  was  pretty  sure  he'd  forgotten  to  lock  the  door  to  his  office.  An  office  that  doubles  as  a  home  of  some  sort  at  this  point.  "  If  you  don't  mind.  "
