So. It was relating to time. She looked up at the sky before looking at the Anguis in front of her. And stepped closer.
"....Something about going into the past. And that the future, in a way, is unreachable. Perhaps we are stuck in a loop of some sort. My cards definitely suggest as much."
"Aww, you didn't answer about the other elements at all... But if we assume potential 'issues' to be related to 'time', past and future are reasonable points to think about. Forward and back, forward and back-- and then what?"
Rhea stared at Harwood before furrowing her gaze. He was playing with her. The bastard was playing with her. And he knew about her sixth-sense? How did he get THAT information about her?
"It is a Sept-Terrion, isn't it? It's one of the ones that haven't been involved in your society's plans. It's not Space or Mirage. And it's certainly not Fire or Earth since they're dead. And Steel is... Well. That's for THIS plan."
She leaned forward, searching his face. ...Weird. His eyes reminded her of her own; except lighter.
"But something is coming. I don't know when but it's going to involve the whole continent. And the Great Twilight could almost speed it up. Or... Even slow it down. It has to do with a Sept-Terrion and I want to say 'Time' since the ones of the higher elements always seem to cause...Problems."
"Hmm hmm... Interesting, interesting~ Well, if it was relating to Time, what sort of issues would you imagine? What about other elements?"
Rhea blinked slowly before looking at Retzy and then at Harwood again. And then crossed her arms.
"Then I'm just gonna start guessing. It has to do with the Sept-Terrions, doesn't it? I'm from a clan closely aligned with the Sept-Terrion of Fire. So....."
"She's not going to let up, Ellroy."
"It's fine, you can say 'witch'. We knew that before even approaching you. Asking all those questions about Vita doesn't make you subtle, either."
He held his cigar a little further away from his face, just so he could lean that much closer to Rhea's face with a smirk.
"Go on. Keep spilling your theories. I hear you've got a reaaal good sixth sense, and I'm curious to witness it for myself~"
"...I'll tell your boss to make sure you have the HARDEST mission if you don't tell me, Harwood. So. I think you should tell me."
Retzy snorted as Rhea pouted.
"I'll do it."
"Good luck finding the Grandmaster in the first place. You can't scare me with that!"

"Uhm...?"
"Ellroy," Retzy chided. "Don't make such a tempting offer. Besides, you know the Grandmaster would NEVER do that. You're in your Anguis spot for a number of reasons. And one of them is so you can be kept on a leash."
"...Loose cannon?" Rhea asked.
"That doesn't even begin to describe it."
"Boo. Don't ruin my hopes by telling Rhea why it's not happening, she might've tried! ...Anyway, I do know some things. But I'm not sure I should be the one telling you, if I only know 'some' things. What to do, what to do~..."
Rhea pouted. Ugh!!!!
"I doubt she'd let me join. I'd want an Anguis spot. Not an Enforcer spot."
She looked at Retzy before flushing. "N...No offense."
"None take, sweetheart."
She then looked at Ellroy before poking him in the side.
"But! Regardless of reasons for joining, your an Anguis. I know you are. So. You know. To a point. You know, Harwood. And I want you to tell me. Something is coming. And I don't mean the Great Twilight."
He snorted. "Want my Anguis spot? I'll donate it to you. It comes with shitty responsibilities and I'd much prefer getting the same freedom Enforcers do instead."
"The Steel Maiden, right?"
She furrowed her brow as she mulled over something else before catching up to Harwood. Hm.
"...What did your leader say to the Azure Abyss? What did she tell her? She obviously told her something to join your group..."
"You are the curious sort, aren't you?" Retzy asked.
"I...Yeah. I know enough. About the Divergent Laws. About a few other things. Like how weird the continent is when you travel by sea. Something is so weird. And the Divine Knights and the Rivalries. I know of the Great Twilight. And of the Sept Terrion of Steel. Mom told me that."
Ellroy shrugged.
"I wasn't there, so heck if I know. Everyone in Ouroboros has different reasons for becoming part of it. Like us! We didn't get some grand heartfelt speech or deep secret about the world, it was just 'join or die'. And I sure wasn't ready to kick the bucket yet! ...Or rather I was, but that would've been a horribly boring death, so I wanted to stick around and see how things shake out and maybe die doing something a little more dramatic."
He looked over his shoulder and smirked. "Care to meet our Grandmaster and ask all those questions yourself? Maybe join for the same reasons little miss Vita did?"
Rhea flushed as Lucretzia moved her hand. Oh...
"Thank you," Rhea murmured as they all walked some more. "I hope you enjoyed the procession! It was quite a lot, huh?"
"But you were beautiful~"
Heehee... The trio continued to walk as Rhea mulled over a few more things. Hm.
"So the Chancellor and Ouroboros are allies, huh? Something tells me that this is part of your greater plan, I imagine."
"Ehh, something like that. Yada yada, hijacking our Blaze plan, and we're just letting him do it to see what happens, for shits and giggles. Does he know the extent of Ouroboros' greater plans? I dunno. I haven't asked. I'll bet his Anguis friend knows, though."
Rhea was quiet before her eyes widening. Ah! Aaaaah! She knew it. She. Knew. It. She opened her mouth before Retzy gently covered her mouth.
"Sweetheart, we know that you have a lot of questions. And that you're a curious sort. One thing at a time, okay?"
"....Mmmphth..."
If Rhea could have physically wilted, she would have.
"Ouroboros threw its lot behind the Iron and Blood Chancellor. So that makes us technically allies, doesn't it? Nothing wrong with us chatting it up with you."
He took a drag of his cigar and blew smoke upward.
"Oh, congratulations on your marriage, by the way. We were among the crowd watching your procession."

Uuuh...?
"I...I don't think I was wanted there? Or needed?"
"To be fair, darling," Retzy said as they walked. "We're really not needed there either. We just want to see what's going to happen~ It is sure to be a spectacle."
"....Who are you with...Again?"
Ellroy sighed. Dear oh dear, so many questions! And here he thought he'd dodged that parenting phase, given she was an adult now.
"No desire to indulge in my staying mysterious, eh? Fine, fine. We're from Ouroboros."
Rhea turned to the blonde woman. "And you?"
"Retzy, sweetheart."
Retzy and Harwood...? Hm. Putting on her boots, Rhea moved over to the duo.
"Alright. I'll bite, Harwood and Retzy. Why are we going over there?"
"Because that's where all the fun is happening, of course!" His smile widened. "I'm sure you already know all about it. Are you sure you want to miss out?"
"I still would like your name!!" Rhea groused.
Hmph. Pouting, Rhea crossed her arms before furrowing her brow. Still.
"...What kind of chaos are we talkin'?" She murmured. "I...Like chaos. And I always caused my mom trouble. I'm not gonna shy away from it. So...Mr. Shoulder Devil?"
He chuckled.
"Call me Harwood, if you want. As for chaos-- I haven't decided on the details yet, but I plan on heading to the Imperial Villa."
Jumping up from her bed, Rhea stared at the fucking weird man in her doorway. She blinked as a woman sauntered into the room as well.
Uh...?
"Who...Are...You?" Rhea hedged.
"I told you not to barge right on in, darling."
"I know you did. But because it was a good idea, I elected to ignore it."
He turned to the dark-haired woman and smiled. "Which is part of my answer to your question-- I'm nobody important, just a naughty little shoulder devil that goes where he pleases and eggs people into more bad ideas. So, do you wanna cause chaos?"
"Wanna cause CHAOS?"

She felt locked out again. Left behind. That's what she didn't want. She didn't want to be left out. Why didn't he understand that? Her reason to fight was him!
Hugging herself tightly, she squeezed herself as she could feel that horrible feeling encompass her. The drop that accompanied whatever went on in her brain.
She felt like she was caged.
"Okay," she croaked. "I'll be here. Waiting."
...Rufus allowed his gaze to wander above them, almost like tracing something invisible with his eyes, before looking at Rhea again.
"Whatever cage you see is one of your own making," he said softly. "I cannot fly for you. I can only remind you the door is wide open."
He put a hand on her head, and bent down to press a kiss to her forehead.
"I must go now. I promise I will return safe and sound, when the Great Twilight falls upon us, and try not to leave you waiting for longer than necessary."
He pulled away, and made his way to the door-- before pausing in front of it.
"...But if you change your mind, and choose to spread your wings... I suppose I will be the one waiting."
Rhea lowered her head.
"I know, Rufus. I know. But it just sucks being left behind all the time. It really does. When I see Vita and Emma, who I grew up with, out there fighting. Or what have you... And then I'm back here? Waiting for you? Not knowing?"
Tears filled her eyes as she stared up at him.
"It just sucks because I feel like I'm not... Good enough. Just like I wasn't good enough when my mother left me."
Rufus searched Rhea's face for a moment.
"...You're not left behind for lack of skill or trust. You're left behind because you have nothing to gain from this. Vita and Emma are out there fighting because they have something they want to fight for. They have a personal stake. They created one for themselves. If you want to go out there...what's stopping you?"
He put his hands behind his back.
"I'm not going to stand in your way. But neither am I going to pull you into Ironblood business like it's a dance invitation. This is effectively a war, and war requires no permissions. You have to make it your fight. If you want involved, and have a reason to get involved, then get involved. Simple as that."
