One thing about Tyranny and Wick's relationship that I've been turning over in my mind is how desperately Tyranny has been trying to keep Wick from changing, like, in any way whatsoever. She consistently is actively discouraging him from acting in any way that is outside her perception of him as this perfect paragon of goodness and sincerity even as a ruse--after he admits to having tried to "butch it up" when talking to Tholomoine in order to hide the fact that he's currently on the outs with his family she tells him he doesn't need to do that and should just be himself. And himself, as Tyranny seems to understand it, is this highly rarefied version of him that is the only genuinely good person in his family, whose belief in the Light is so sincere and true that he thinks he can save a demon. To her that is the true essence of who Wicander Halovar is.
But the thing is, that's not how humans (or aasimar as Wick's case may be) work; they change and grow into different versions of themselves, and Wick in particular is staring down a massive change as he's forced to try and reconcile the version of the Candescent Creed he believes in and the version his family has enforced on the world and how much he has benefited from the harm his family has done. Tyranny however is a demon, an existence which is defined by being bound to a specific archetypal essence that is the immutable basis of who and what she is, and she's treating Wick as if he's the same way. Somewhere in her mind she seems to have slotted him into being the living embodiment of sincerity and goodness and so is trying to keep him acting in a way that aligns with the archetype she has impressed on him. While it is understandable that she might be interpreting Wick as a type of existence she's familiar with, as she's only been out of the Pit for 6 months, it's something she's going to need to let go of. Wick will change over the course of this story, their relationship will have to change with it, and she's going to have to allow both of these things to happen. As much as she might like to preserve Wick exactly as she understands him, trying does him, and her a massive disservice.
