i was sitting in class earlier thinking about, i don’t know, maybe finding a cave somewhere, possibly reading some poetry. Anyone down?

Todd Anderson, inspired by Mr Keating, became an English teacher after attending Welton. He wanted to help as many kids he could, help them participate, or even just feel welcome as Mr Keating did to him. One day in 1991 a boy in his new advanced English class reminded him much of his younger self. The boy was quiet, nervous to participate but still smart, very smart. The boys name? Charlie Kelmeckis.

It was about six months after Keating was fired and the poets were sitting in English class, studying Shakespeare. At the end of the lesson their new teacher asked them to write an essay about their favourite work of Shakespeare’s and why. The next day he had six essays on his desk claiming their favourite play was A Midsummer’s Nights Dream, telling in depth why Puck is the best character.    

That feeling. The one after finishing that book. The feeling that no one can break your little bubble. That feeling that no one else really understands unless they’ve read, no, experienced that book in the way you did. That's the best 

Early morning studying. Late night book reads. Going to that  corner in the bookstore. Walking down museum corridors. Analysing Shakespeare plays. Reading classics for the first time. Romanticising life all together.
