OKAY LIKE LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN (Pjo spoilers Ig)
Why are they stealing all of Percy's choices? His little realizations and his moments of character development? And what was with the big reveal of Thalia actually being in Kronos's design? (Didn't we already know that? Didn't they already voice this concern like hello we're not stupid we get it.)
ALSO in the book, it worked SO WELL that Thalia literally just popped out of a tree at the end of the adventure and it was like bam. Deal with the emotional ramifications, Percy. Screw you and your sense of self-development. BUT IN THE SHOW THEY TALK ABOUT IT TOO MUCH? I FEEL? And it's great to see Percy struggling with the thought of someone replacing him, but it steals from Thalia's return, right? Like even the added dream of the drachma tells the audience that Kronos Probably Has Plans To Use Thalia, and then they go and end the show with OMG KRONOS MIGHT HAVE PLANS TO USE THALIA like... we know? So what? It would have been so much better if the end reveal was actually... Thalia coming back... like in the book.
Like don't get me wrong, I've been enjoying the show but something about the last ep felt different. Almost like Percy is being ignored and things are being sidestepped for the sake of a bigger story. ALSO TYSON? WHAT KIND OF CHARACTER SEND OFF WAS THAT? WHAT ABOUT 'HE'S MY BROTHER SCENE? WHAT ABOUT THE CHARIOT RACE? WHAT ABOUT *slam dunks a disney ceo* PERCY'S FREAKING CHARAcTEr DeVELOPMENT??
Anyway it's like super late and I should be sleeping but like why they do homeboy dirty like that like come on guys. Percy's character is so much more then just being over-protective of Anabeth and being dark and moody TM ;_;
I felt all this but didn’t know how to word it ty
Also, I reread SOM kinda recently and like…he wasn’t dark and moody at all?? I wouldn’t even describe him as “overprotective of Annabeth”, he respects her and sees how experienced and knowledgeable she is. I feel like the way they’re building the relationship in the show is heavily influenced by the current trends :(
OMG yes! The current trends are TOTALLY changing some of the finer, more lovable details of the Disney Pjo series. Dark and Brooding Percy was not. Percy was literally just trying to find his friend, his resolve, and his next snack.
