steven taylor and the first doctor's argument in the closing scenes of the massacre is one of the foundation scenes of doctor who for me. all of the later companions' struggles with the doctor and the doctor's loneliness and grief is right there in one of the most haunting scenes in doctor who. we don't even have the visuals and yet it's still incredibly powerful.

it's good when a vocalist gets really nasty and weird. if you're on the mic i want it to sound like something is happening to your meat and you're scared about it

i can't express how absolutely important it is that when you make an edgy, brooding, badass character who's tough as nails and good at fighting and whatever, you HAVE to give them at least one reason to become completely helpless and pathetic. you have a panic attack quota to fulfill.
