Gun shots or fireworks?

Who cares?

Today has been great

I don’t want to come down

I hear a cookout going on across the street and there’s so much laughter it brings me joy

The frogs were annoying, but coupled with this cool air touching my once sun kissed skin, I’m reminded of summers in the south

Aunt Katie’s wet kisses and familiar hugs

Liver pudding and homemade biscuits

Sweet tea and lying my nappy head in the grass

Not one care in this world or the next

Loss takes me under sometimes

Losing innocence and family

Friends and loved ones

Time

Never enough time

To make amends

To say I’m sorry or I forgive you

I love you

The moon bleeds down onto my face

And washes me

I feel clean and pure

I have forgiven me

I can heal and move forward

I am not absolved of my mistakes, but I can take with me the lessons I now I have

I can be a better me tomorrow than the me I am today

I owe that to me

To stand in who I want to be

Carried cross the heavens

In a chariot fit for a goddess

I am born

Selene has given me new life

I am whole

Under this crescent mood

Who has lent to me the tears I needed

To sublimate this body

Transcend this consciousness
