my favourite thing about nhl listed roster heights is how little they tell you about how tall a player actually is. we live in a beautiful world where denver barkey is 5'10 and brandon hagel is 6'2

i've been watching old playoff games during the off-season but i forgot home whites used to be a thing (i was a toddler when the nhl switched back to white road jerseys in 2003-2004) so for a second there i was like damn bold move by the calgary herald buying ad space on the boards at the montreal forum

it's summer which means i am constantly asking myself questions such as "who is on my hockey team" and "is that a good idea"

i've been keeping up with off season trade/signing/draft news (pwhl and nhl) but i'm also in an intensive language program with spotty wifi that runs 5-8 hours a day plus homework so really what that means is i get home at the end of the day with my brain blended into mush glance over the headlines announcing that half of the league has been traded then immediately collapse face first into bed and fall asleep in a state of mild befuddlement

both the chicago and toronto announcers think the referees are doing a terrible job in the marlies-wolves series but the toronto announcers are being a lot more polite about it

it took me embarrassingly far into the draft the other day to realize they were saying "uconn" (university of connecticut) and not "yukon" (canadian territory). i was just like damn big year for the territories i guess good for them

something unreasonably funny to me about abby boreen getting selected by vegas from vancouver only to immediately get traded back to vancouver for draft picks two days later

shoutout to the world's most judgemental announcers commentating this wolves-marlies game

i'm sure i'll be joining everyone else in the pit of despair soon enough but for now i am a little smug about how well vancouver is coming out of the expansion. look at my duckies (not) gooooo
