Happy we slidin season to all who observe
A moment to celebrate 5 years of we slidin.
Happy 5 years of we slidin to all who observe
Hello, I have a question for you if you don’t mind me asking, it’s an odd question and if it’s too rude of me to ask then I apologise in advance.
You see I noticed while browsing through your page that some if your content outside tumblr is erotic, and I’m just curious to why you create erotic content.
I’m a somewhat sex repulsed aroace person, and some sexual things allo people typically do and experience don’t make any sense to me sometimes. I want to try and understand typical allo experiences.
Again if this question is too personal or invasive or rude then I am deeply sorry. I just really want to try and make sense of allos since it’s all very confusing sometimes with how much sex and sexual activity is within the world, and I just don’t get it on a fundamental level sometimes given my orientation.
It's OK, is amazing you want to understand instead of condemn other's perspectives, I appreciate it.
I started drawing NSFW 8 years ago. I was on a really bad situation, I have a disabled child and our landlord wanted to evict us because we were delayed with the payment. On top of that I had lots of issues with my family. I was really stressed, my child needed me at home, but in a third world country remote work doesn't exists. One night I went into… certain site to release some stress, and at that moment I thought "Why not? I consume it and enjoy it, so I can try it out"
And yeah it saved my family. It's not a perfect job but overall, fortunately, the NSFW is FULL of wholesome supportive people who I love and consider my friends. It makes carrying the mark of being a spicy artist easier.
About the sexuality part, it works a bit like food. Not in the sense that I need it for sustain, rather than hunger is more akin to a carving. When you really really want to eat something, it becomes a thought that orbits your mind getting bigger and bigger. When you can satisfy that carving, it feels great. That's how sexual urge works for me. Also, like carvings, it can have a lot of variety. Sometimes I feel particularly drawn by certain scenarios, certain situations with my wife or certain genders (I'm a bisexual woman).
All these feelings I described above also go into my NSFW art. Sometimes I or a commissioner really want to see a specific drawing, it can be a character, a fetish, certain clothing, a fantasy, etc. So I draw it and it feels great cause that carving is getting fulfilled. I have always considered my work as a way to make people happy.
"I'm no better than a man!" Men being horny for women is also morally neutral. Hope this helps.
Men being horny for women isn't inherently about power though. Like this is so odd. OP is completely correct and y'all should really acknowledge that yes, straight men being horny for women IS in fact morally neutral
Mens attraction being inherently predatory and destructive and needing to be restrained is, in fact, part of evangelical ideology, and i think a number of people have unrecognised evangelical beliefs, left over from their youth or gained from societal permeation of whatever. And maybe they should recognise and critically examine those beliefs. And think a bit about where they got them from, instead of thinking up feminist justifications for them.
"Mens attraction being inherently predatory" is an excuse to pretend men are mindless beasts who aren't in control of their own actions, which by extension also means they cannot be blamed for said actions.
It's "Boys will be boys" taken to the extreme.
It's the attitude that leads to bullshit like blaming rape victims for the way they were dressed.
It's not feminism, it's the exact opposite, it's a fucking scapegoat for the people these "radical feminists" claim to hate.
One good thing about having a very large extended family is that it gives you examples of what different kinds of lives can look like.
I never thought it was weird growing up for someone to never get married or have kids because one of my uncles did that. I never thought it was weird to be vegan because one of my cousins did that. I never thought it was weird to have a mixed race family because I had cousins and aunts and uncles with mixed race families. I never thought it was weird to be divorced because several of my family members got divorced. And their ex husbands and ex wives still showed up to family gatherings. I never thought it was weird for a woman to have short hair and dress masculine because one of my aunties did that.
I kind of had to become the transgender cousin admittedly but you know what now I’m the transgender cousin and there’s an example for the younger generation that being trans is just something you can be.

“Cats don’t actually love you”
A cat is a small creature in the middle of the food chain that is fully aware that you are a very large thing that could stomp its head in at any moment and yet it chooses to rest its tiny little head on your leg for a nap and spreads out on the floor near you exposing its belly and its most sensitive organs. It brings dead mice and bugs to you to share food.
Don’t you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that it’s helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.
Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.
Whenever someone says that they’re ‘mourning’ or whatever because of my transition, I imagine taking my egg-self around back and putting him down like Old Yeller.
We've made a ton of comics explaining the deal with Project 2025, and why it's such a disaster. Here's one of them. Go read (and share) them all! https://stopproject2025comic.org/comic/anti-trans_discrimination/
i don't know who needs to hear this, but guilt, self-hatred and shame are not sustainable sources of growth and healing. you can't hate yourself into feeling better, or being better. you can't repeatedly punish yourself for your flawed humanity and expect wholesome results.

Everyone needs this
I think if a fairy showed up at my house like yeah they are not real but there is narrative precedent for that. a fairy, if it existed, would show up at a house. i just need to suspend one disbelief everything else tracks. it's a big surprise, but a singular one. i would know how to get with the programm pretty quick.
if a walrus knocked at my door there would be many more fucking questions than one. a walrus showing up at my house? knowing that knocking is the required social etiquette? having reasons to knock on my door and somehow the ability to do that despite having no arms? said walrus coming to me of all people?? a walrus being real is the least of my concerns at that point why the fuck does it need my help what kind of problem can I solve that a socially aware and apparently findextrous walrus fucking can't

What the fuck
This is absolutely fascinating. I've now been looking at Alex Colville's paintings and trying to work out what it is about them that makes them look like CGI and how/why he did that in a world where CGI didn't exist yet. Here's what I've got so far:
- Total lack of atmospheric perspective (things don't fade into the distance)
- Very realistic shading but no or only very faint shadows cast by ambient light.
- Limited interaction between objects and environment (shadows, ripples etc)
- Flat textures and consistent lighting used for backgrounds that would usually show a lot of variation in lighting, colour and texture
- Bodies apparently modelled piece by piece rather than drawn from life, and in a very stiff way so that the bodies show the pose but don't communicate the body language that would usually go with it. They look like dolls.
- Odd composition that cuts off parts that would usually be considered important (like the person's head in the snowy driving scene)
- Very precise drawing of structures and perspective combined with all the simplistic elements I've already listed. In other words, details in the "wrong" places.
What's fascinating about this is that in early or bad CGI, these things come from the fact that the machine is modelling very precisely the shapes and perspectives and colours, but missing out on some parts that are difficult to render (shadows, atmospheric perspective) and being completely unable to pose bodies in such a way as to convey emotion or body language.
But Colville wasn't a computer, so he did these same things *on purpose*. For some reason he was *aiming* for that precise-but-all-wrong look. I mean, mission accomplished! The question in my mind is, did he do this because he was trying to make the pictures unsettling and alienating, or because in some way, this was how he actually saw the world?
commenting to add what is objectively his coolest painting
