okay by request; my fd superhero au lore drop and ideas and such
This idea is literally like 12 hours old so bare with me, okay
Alright, so, every movie has their own superhero team (missing some characters due to lack of screen time or general annoyance and dislike). I started with FD1 because I like going about things chronologically. The hero team consists of Carter, Clear, Billy, Tod, and lead by Alex. I will be aging them all up to 19 because that is the last age we see Clear and that works better for the timeline as ALL fd casts will be alive at the same time and interracting with each other. These will be the only characters I will age up.
Heat Concentration
My friend, Benny ( @spursthatjinglenjangle ) first gave me this idea to give him a very strong power that would feed into his ego. It's a very outwards and offensive power, used primarily for attacking others.
The power allows Carter to heat up the air around him and exert it in a direction to either propel himself, shoot others, melt obstacles, heat up the floor or even block bullets and melt them before they reach him or his team. If you know titan fall, think about the Thermal Shield of the Scorch Titan in Titanfall 2. Same idea.
His counter is hard to achieve, but if it can be, is incredibly detrimental to him. If the air is too thick and full of debris, his heat struggles to break through it, and, if there is no air at all, he can't do anything at all.
It is inspired by Carter's letterman jacket. I gave it lines and arrows to show the outwards projection and conscious directionality of of his powers. It has full body coverage to protect himself from the heat as, he isn't invulnerable to his own power. he has increased tolerance for it, but can still be burned should it be reflected back into him on his face or hands.
I left his hands out so that he has the least restriction of movement in them, allowing him to feel free and loose
I left his face out because I think Carter would want the public to know if he was a hero. He is flashy and living in the limelight of it all.
I gave him athletic shoes to protect his feet from the heat. He would need less mobility from their as he is typically just propelling himself from there, not much else
Terry is still a part of the story, but she isn't a super hero. She lives with Carter and is often annoyed with how much he needs to leave home to go save the world. She knows it's selfish but still gets worried and lonely.
I'll go more into this on Billy's part, but Carter's Heat directly counters Billy and his Metallic Skin. He uses this to bully him and make him feel lesser.
Carter is often taken down a peg by Alex and is often seen fighting with him much like in the movie. "who made you the leader, Browning?" is often the start of their arguments.
Clear is inspired by Deadman from DC comics. She exists between a state of life and death, transitioning between the two as needed.
Human Form
When clear is in her human form, she remains the same, except for her black sclera and white ringed pupils (kinda like the phantom animatronics from fnaf 3). She can fly and usually chooses to hover over the ground rather than walk.
Spirit Form
When Clear enters her spirit form, she is able to do a lot more. She can go completely invisible, pass through walls, teleport within a certain radius, teleport others with her, commune with the freshly dead, and even possess others.
-note, she can still be hit by energy or elemental projectiles, but nothing like bullets or debris in this form
Her main downfall is that she is weak on her own, without people to possess or someone to benefit from it, she isn't the best in combat. Most useful to gather intel or act as a distraction.
Kept it sleek because of how high stealth she is. The white lines along her body wrap around to the back as well and can be toggled on while she is in ghost for so that her team can see her (and not hit her).
The pattern is also inspired by her last name, Rivers. because its like a river going down her body type shit.
I kept it monochromatic and quite dark as well, once again tying into her stealth and quiet methods of getting information.
Clear works both with the FD1 team and FD2 team (both unnamed currently) as a double agent. She wants information for herself so that she can take down The Reaper with the best team possible. She is one of the most educated character on how it works and how it plans it's attacks, often being at the sight of the disaster well before it happens. This causes her to be seen as more of an omen rather than a hero through the public eye and news.
She is very close to both Alex AND Kimberly, and maybe a love triangle arises between them or something haha that would be crazy right guys haha
Aka; The Steel Stalwart (maybe changing)
Metal Skin
Billy is made completely of malleable steel alloy. His body can manipulate itself into any shape, weapon, or blockade. He has a very high defense, but is weak to fire and high heats. This is inspired by the T-1000 from Terminator 2
Instead of using the metal to form sharp knives or anything, he typically defaults to defending people, forming large metallic sheets to cover his team. This often causes him to contend with Carter, slowing him down to protect him.
Billy is mostly exposed. He doesn't need any armour because, well, he is armour. By having more skin exposed, he can easily use his skin to defend his team, often expanding his back as the node for metal to expand from.
Billy doesn't like being so exposed on the battle field, believing that he is more at risk than he is. He is regarded as "too passive" in action by Carter (and the rest of the team, but less notably) often being OVERLY defensive and granting adversaries more opportunities against them.
Carter's Heat Concentration is a direct counter to Billy. He often gets into fights with him, melting his metal body and leaving him weak for a bit. This happens both in and out of battle.
Aka; Wonder Tod (Name still up for debate)
Elemental Breath
Tod can generate any gaseous element from his lungs and expel it with great force. He is best with fire, ice, and strong winds however he can also use earth and electricity, it is just less trained. Tod acts as a secondary attacker with Carter, often taking up opportunities made by him to freeze the enemy.
More than once, Tod has hit Clear, leading to the development of the lights in her suit.
Tod likes to use his powers to try and impress others, pushing himself beyond his limits at times to make something cool.
Should someone cut connection to his lungs through choking or other forms of asphyxiation, Tod is left very weak and can't use his powers.
His heat is weaker than Carter's but that isn't to say it can't burn someone. It just can't really melt things as easily.
I kept it bright yellow as a subtle nod to his yellow-brown flannel that he wears in his death. I made it brighter to both drag attention to Tod in universe while also trying to fit into the earlier super hero designs from the 90s because I like them.... if that is evident already. The yellow also looks nice with red/orange fire and blue ice.
Like Carter's, I gave him a full body suit to protect himself from his own powers. It has more coverage however because Tod doesn't have any invulnerability or heightened defense. It is a thick nylon with an increased density around his neck. It's uncomfortable and he often complains about it, but it is important to protect his throat so that his powers may work.
I gave him a mask because I'd like to think that Tod would believe that the mask makes him seem "more mysterious" and therefore more attractive to others.
Tod was the first person added to the team by Alex.
He enjoys going on the news to gloat about his team's accomplishments and embellishing the truth slightly. Billy and Carter try and join in as well before Alex shuts them down.
Foresight
Alex can see all possible futures within the next 3 minutes. While he is doing this however, He can't move for 1 minute and is left in a meditative state.
Alex is an alien who crashed into Tod's backyard a year ago. Alex was escaping his home planet that was destroyed by The Reaper. Now it is his goal to train and use his foresight to save earth.
Alex's supersuit is inspired by his sweater that he wore in the first scene of FD1 that represents the plane crash. Thinking about adding a cape because capes are cool
I wish i had more to say but that was the extent of my planning for his fit ill be honest, expect a redesign soonish
I gave him blueskin and white hair to symbolise how much of an outsider he is, both in the movie and in the au. I gave him a third eye with two pupils to show how he sees death. When he activates his foresight, this eye remains open while the other two close.
Also if you look closely, It reads 180.. heh
I made his eyes red to show that he sees death in the future.
Alex started the team and acts as the leader. His role is planning and ensuring the survival of his team.
Alex suspects that Clear is up to something, but is uncertain what but decides its best to keep her close regardless.
He is the only person to have seen The Reaper's destruction first hand in this team.
Alex and Carter still fight everyday. He ragebaits him by dodging everything he throws at him.
OTHER CHARACTERS AND IDEAS IVE HAD!!
Val Lewton is gonna be a news cast I think.
FD2 Team is going to have Nora and Tim keeps trying to join up (she won't let him)
FD3 team is going to be solely lead by Wendy and she has the ability to control time
Kevin is going to be a speedster because I like the dynamic of superspeed and Time control
Bobby will have something to do with talking to animals
