Leo (VIXX): When does shyness fade into rudeness? Should idols do better to portray a happier image in front of the cameras regardless of their own emotions or should third parties simply stop making fact out of what they believe to be true?

Jisung (NCT): It’s nothing new for idols to be debuting at young ages but just when does young become just too young? Should there be a minimum age idols have to reach before making their debuts?

Jaehyo: Even amongst some of the most popular groups, certain members can be overshadowed by their band-mates and sometimes even labelled ‘unnecessary’ to the group. Is there credence behind this mindset or are all members valuable to a group?

Woohyun: Fanservice is key. Fanservice is life. However when does it all just get a little too OTT? Are idols like these really that dedicated to their fans or is the spiel bordering on insincere showboating?

Hyuna: She’s proven it. Sex sells and it sells well. What do you think about the hyper-sexualisation of idols? 

Daesung: “Jack of all trades. Master of none.” In a world where more and more idols are expected to not only hold but master more than one talent, how do you feel about those who are known for only one particular trait or talent?

Sulli: Public perception of an idol can make or break them. Rarely will an idol invite trouble into their life because let’s face it: it’s not worth it. So what do you think about those that seem to continuously disregard the negativity they receive from the public and remain as controversial as ever?

Alex (BP RANIA): As a largely homogeneous country, South Korea isn’t synonymous with cultural diversity and with celebrities like Yoon Mirae, Jeon Somi and Sam Okyere having spoken of the challenges their different backgrounds have brought them in the country, many were surprised by the addition of Alex to RANIA. Whilst some fans hail the move as a step in the right direction, others believe she’s simply being used as a marketing ploy. What do you think?

Hwayoung (Boys24)*: Idols have time and time again chalked their success up to the loyalty and love of their fans and aren’t afraid to voice their thankfulness any chance they get. But what about the idols that don’t have such nice things to say about the group of people that essentially pay for their chance to make their dreams a reality? 

Jay Park: For all the effort that is put into portraying K-Pop as a (mostly) wholesome industry, mature references exist within songs and concepts more than they do not—however artists are often slammed with baseless restrictions on their creative freedom. Should organisations like MOGEF limit the censorship they place on artists or do you believe the censorship to be necessary?

Ailee: It’s rare for idols to recover from their scandals and gain the ‘forgiveness’ of the public. Why do you think some people do just that whilst others are left to live with the public’s scorn of their past actions?
