Shanghai Living

I just want to say right now that I have not been posting as much as I should be. People are starting to bitch, so I'm sorry. A lot hasn't happened recently. We were suppose to go to nanjing, but because of the typhoon we didn't end up going. She said that if we're going to Beijing she'll take off 320¥ (which is stupid because I know it's more expensive than fifty fucking dollars to take the bullet train round trip, AND a tour bus with tickets and shit), the directors been getting on everyone's nerves. She's acting like she doesn't give a rats ass, and I know it's summer and your preparing for fall classes, but doing less than half ass at your job is not okay. We went to a club called Phebe for like 5 mins. It was cool, we were all just super drunk and wanted to go home like five minutes after we got there (they had a really good deal, if you pay 100¥ (about $16) you get unlimited drinks the whole night, two people ended up staying and doing it). Which I'm not complaining about because I got a really good chicken wrap when we left. Yesterday we had a finance exam (which was easy, he gave a ton of extra credit too), and afterwards we went with the professor (his girlfriend and friend came too) DRUNK GO-KARTING. That is like the thing you do, get hammered then drive go-karts. It was so much fun, these things flew too! After that we went to a convenience store to buy more booze (we got soju which is like a rice liquor, and beer). We drank it in a park (because it's China and we can), which was pretty awesome. After that we got eleven of us together (the people in my program), and the professor (another one of his friends joined) with his group and started heading to a soccer game (not just any soccer game, the Beijing VS. Shanghai soccer game, it's suppose to be like super crazy). When we got off the metro (you can see the stadium from there btw) we see a scalper, and we ask him how much tickets are, he said 100¥, but he didn't have enough for 14 of us, so he said of we pay 50¥ more we'd be able to sit together and have better seats! So we did, and we were all excited to go in (I even got a really nice jersey for 40¥ (about $6.50, SO CHEAP). Well come to find out the asshole scalper sold is fake fucking tickets. Yeah we were not happy. Most of the people in our group bought real ones for 200¥ and went to the game. But me and a couple other people stayed back and went home. I'm not even big into soccer, but I would spend 25 dollars to see a game, however I'm not gonna drop 60 dollars. After that I just went home and went home. Tonight we're suppose to go to a karaoke bar (finally), I'm super excited!!! Then tomorrow I have a quiz in my Chinese class, and we're going over the exam in my finance class. On Saturday the program is taking us to hangzhou and we're spending the night there, it should be a pretty cool. I guess they have the best green tea in all of China (and you can get it pretty cheap too)!!!!

So we’re about to go to this bar on the bund (like six metro stops away), so I call an uber and they never show up. So half of the group was like "oh we’re gonna go to James" (which is a bar right by the university, and it sucks) and that they were gonna meet us later(which they never did). So six metro stops later and like a kilometer of walking and we finally find the place. We walk up there and it’s super way fancy (like there’s a line to get in), and we walk up and this gorgeous lady asks us for the password (which by the way I know because a friend of a friend told us), I acted uninterested, like it was a bother and said “MVP”, she then smiled and said “welcome to bar rouge” ONE OF THE COOLEST MOMENTS OF MY LIFE. I felt so badass, it was completely awesome!!! Ladies also got free drinks so they got me one that I literally drank in 7 seconds (all thanks to Roby sneaking me drinks on them stairs at rumors). I also got a drink called a blueberry crush, which was good for a mixed drink (and it had VODKA in it🙏🏼🙏🏼). There was dancing and strippers (yes strippers), and music we actually knew, like oldies (yeah by usher and Don’t Cha by pussycat dolls) and new hits (Like blurred lines, and uptown funk). We were nonstop dancing almost the whole time we were there. One of the best nights in Shanghai yet.

The water village was awesome! I got some great souvenirs and pictures! It was very traditional Chinese. The buildings were a reddish color and had the pagoda style roofs with narrow streets (I'll post photos later) Tomorrow they're taking us to the bund, the financial center, and some gardens (that are suppose to be really pretty). I just got the shit beat out of me. Kelsey and I went and got massages (I got a full body and she got a foot massage) for ¥78 (roughly around $12), and to put it lightly (total understatement) the Chinese are a bit rough. I felt like I was being tenderized before a barbecue. I feel absolutely great now though. The beating was worth it. We're gonna go to a club called mist (it's actually an Asian bar/club and not a westernized one lol), and a friend said that her friends got VIP (that'd be totally awesome), so hopefully that'll happen!

Honey on a stick, anyone?!

I haven’t posted in a few days and I know that my huge fan base is probably freaking out about it, so here goes. The only thing I can really remember is how on fire my butthole has been in the last few days. I didn’t poop for like 6 days but when I did it was like liquid lava. Awesome. I’ve also come to the realization that I probably won’t be going to Beijing or the Great Wall, it’s like ¥3,000 yuan which is equivalent to about $500 usd give or take, and I’m really not in the best financial situation to be doing that. If I would have known I would have picked up an extra shift or two before I left. I didn’t know it’d be 1/8 of the freakin program itself. Bo. Yesterday was the first actual day where we left the strip and explored something exciting. Also the first time where I took more photos of buildings, people, scenery, and less photos of food. I think I only took one photo of food (it was like a whole battered fried squid on a stick), which looked super good. We totally went to the black market too. Like it was awesome, everyone else was kinda nervous about going into a room with strange people selling fake merchandise. Not me. It was so cool. I saw a fake Rolex that was like super nice. I’m going back because I just like the bargaining aspect, and I need to buy gifts for people (and maybe some headphones because I lost mine). After the black market we got separated from our group. So the twelve of us turned into like five. Kelsey and Mia went to KFC and the ten of us went to go eat at a Chinese restaurant. Blake, chase, and I got separated and ended up going back to KFC with Mia ad Kelsey. I got two chicken sandwiches and it will probably be the cheapest I will pay at a KFC (not that I eat fast food a lot, but I think I paid $3 for two chicken sandwiches). After KFC we went to the bund, which is two big parts of Shanghai that has a river running between them (kinda, that’s like the best way to explain it). We walked to a place called three on the bund, which is this really fancy bar at the top of this hotel (like one corona was ¥60, which is about $10, lets just say I drank my drink slooowww ), the view was totally amazing. After the bar we only had like an hour before the metro stopped running, so we booked it. We ended up missing the last train anyway lol. So we had to walk about two miles home, we figured that since we walked all day, what’s another two miles (I wanted a cab). Today we’re suppose to be going to a water village (because that’s what we do here on the Fourth of July). I just hope they have some cute (and cheap) souvenirs. Like a freakin shot glass (like I know y'all drink, where they at?!).
