"totally perfect day" aka total pedophile death (a phrase that comes from "totally beautiful day" or total billionaire death) has been gaining a surge of use on tiktok and other social medias and it pisses me off in a very specific way. most the ppl using it would pride themselves on being educated on the topics they discuss but if you took a couple minutes to think about it you would realize that it is horrible in practice. if policy was inacted to make child sexual abuse (rape/child abuse/domestic abuse, all things ive seen people claim deserve the death penalty) punishable via the death penalty, more perpetrators would simply kill their victims and less victims would come out against their abusers. the majority of abusers are close friends and family, many victims already don't wanna see these people locked up dispite their horrible actions if death was the definite consequence then many victims would keep quiet to protect their abusers from this fate. it would also highten the scrutiny many face when coming out with stories and allegations of abuse. many claim victims are trying to ruin the life of their abusers, the death penalty would only make these claims worse.
im begging you to care about victims more then you hate their abusers.
