This project was really fun to me. I feel like I needed to tell a story that speaks to me and hoping others can relate to how consumerism is in short a dream worth buying whether it is a double entendre. Let me elaborate, the vender is selling the consumer a dream, while that same dream the vender dreamed of selling. I see ideas as potential manifestations that have access to the real world, yet only those who manifest their dreams get to live in the privilege. One person told me that the artist is not shy. I agree, be as outspoken as you can to be heard by people that feel the same. The process of this piece was fun. I enjoyed fighting with myself on what I want to dedicate this piece to. That was it, I just needed the right idea. The rest came in the process of the piece. The actual song was mixed and cut by me on pro logic, and the rest of the video was cut by iMovie. This video thrives on what it means to reach success and through these individuals that hit that pinnacle you can see the outcome that hard works does pay off. You ever heard of the 10,000 hour rule? Well this same rule applies to these talented people. They didn’t become successful though trust funds, luck in a brokerage, lottery, or even family money. They bring up why Phil knights company is so big today. Hard work and dedication is what this is. Buying a product from Nike brings you this element of win and don’t be afraid of losing. Same way Phil knight fought to bring his company up to where it is today. The sad reality is that it’s just a pair of shoes, and they don’t give you the work ethic that it takes to be the best you can be, rather it’s the mentality that comes with the product that makes you fly when you wear it.
