1983 Punch 'n Juicy ad. This bubble gum named after the classic puppet characters Punch and Judy was filled with four different flavoured juices that bursted in the mouth at the first bite.

In 1979 Parker Brothers released the Rom action figure. A monthly series was started by Marvel Comics in December 1979 featuring the war between the Spaceknight and the Dire Wraiths, written by Bill Mantlo and drawn by Sal Buscema (issues 1-58) and Steve Ditko (issues 59-75) that lasted until 1986.

There has been two Indiana Jones RPGs. The first of them, The Adventures of Indiana Jones Role-Playing Game, was released in 1984 by TSR and is featured in this ad. The second one was released by West End Games in 1994.

The first line of toys was released by Popy in Japan in 1984 and distributed by Matchbox in the USA. This page advertises the second line of action figures, released by Panosh Place the same year.

In 1984 the transformable robots were in, and one of the most popular franchises was Robotech/Macross. Revell took advantage of this situation, releasing a line of robot models, like Condar, the one starring this ad, called Robotech Defenders, although these kits were not transformable. Plus, DC Comics published a two-issue series under the same title.

Among the M&M's mechandising for the Los Angeles 1984 Summer Olympics (that included glass candy jars, ice cream dishes, pins, t-shirts...), this set of 44 trading cards stands out.

In 1984 you could get for free the very first appearances of Batman, Robin and the Joker just sending three Fig Newtons or Apple Newtons brand seals.
