Here's a nice little trick of Gundam poses. You want your Gundam figure to hold their weapon all slack like it's at rest but that simply won't work with the hand that's supposed to hold it? If it comes with multiple hands, try using a trigger finger hand!
I messed around all day trying to get Char's Zaku II Custom to hold its Heat Hawk in a relaxed way, but just couldn't do it with the closed fist. It's hole is so small that even holding the skinny part of the Heat Hawk's handle, it's to tight to hang loose. But the trigger finger hand has a much wider hole! One that's just large for the Heat Hawk to hand slack like I wanted, but not wide enough for the pommel to slip out!
Not the most wild and exciting trick in the trick in the book, others have probably posted about it before. But for anyone who stumbles upon this post and is just getting into gunpla like I am, let it serve as a reminder to always think outsider the box when trying to get a specific pose you want to display just right!

04/30/2026: BMW E30 Very pleased with a lot of what I did here. I've gotten a lot of compliments on the color and I'm super stoked with what I mixed up. What I tried new: - Mixing my own paint color. - Painted the window trims on the outside. - Adding metal exhaust pipes. What went well: - Color is absolutley killer. A shell pink that I would absolutely drive a 1:1 car of. Sort of Hello Kitty + vintage Fender strat. - Exhaust looks good, it's understated but adds a nice scale touch. - Body panel lining adds so much scale detail. Makes this $35 body look like a $40 body, easy. - The window stickers all look great. The plain colored ones aren't actually what I'd initially envisioned, but they add a nice pop of color. - Window trims look pretty good. I'll prob do that again. What could've gone better: - The front bumper black stripe is wonky. Just needed to tape cleaner. - I think that's it? This turned out pretty dang well.
I overestimated how much patience I have, I don’t even like doing puzzles ðŸ˜. JJJ is right, spider-man is a menace! He convinced me to buy this because it looked cool and articulate, but I’m already wanting to give up! (Picture kind of sucks at showing this, but just know, there’s so many little pieces in the bags behind this)
2 hours later:
I honestly think this will take me 2 more hours to finish because of how damn hard it is to get the little black joints into the holes.
Asides from that: it’s really frustrating to be done with a bunch of tiny pieces, only to realize you did everything backwards :|
I also lost some very time pieces multiple times and they were so difficult to find (and use, I had to get my pliers out and accept that this brand new figure is already damaged lol)
