Tamlin literally has NOTHING on this list. He does not like his power, he always tried to be softer, resorting to an orderly tone in extreme cases. imperiousness is definitely not his character trait. And Tamlin is certainly not cruel. Never. He is the complete opposite of his father, and he himself is disgusted with hurting and bullying others. Even over his enemies. He even killed Amaranta quickly, although he could have left her to slowly die and torture her, as she tortured Feyre. Also, he is not a typical warrior and he himself did not want to be one. He loves music much more than the art of war, and wanted to be not a warrior, but a wandering musician. Tamlin knows how and can admit his mistakes and apologize. He admitted that he was wrong when he locked Feyre up, apologized to her and tried to improve. He is also not overconfident. Rather, on the contrary, he has little self-confidence, but does not turn this into a problem for others, unlike Cassian. And he is full of compassion. Literally in the very first book, he calms down an unfamiliar fairy who was thrown into his Court, and takes pity on him before his death. He sympathizes with Feyre, who grew up in poverty and lack of love; it was precisely because of his compassion and pity that he left Lucien to live in his Court. And for the same reason, he is very empathic towards others. He perfectly felt Feyre in the first book and Lucien's pain after the loss of his beloved. Only in the second book does he stop noticing Feyre’s condition, but there is a reason: he is also deeply traumatized and his way of dealing with this trauma is to stop noticing it, to pretend that everything is fine and that all the worst things are in the past. Just try to forget this nightmare, pretend that it didn’t happen. There was no all this death and pain, as if they remained in a completely different life. This is actually a very common reaction many people have to experiencing trauma, and I don't see how that makes Tamlin a bad person. I think that in this way Tamlin tried to distract Feyre, tried to show that everything was in the past and she had nothing to fear anymore. He might have thought that it would be easier for both of them this way. Just don’t remember their nightmare and that’s it. Based on all of the above, Tamlin certainly does not fit into the example of toxic masculinity.

Do you know who fits in perfectly? Rhysand and his batboys. Throughout all the books, Rhysand was an imperious high lord, confident in himself and his decisions, even to the point of stupidity, such as sending the not yet fully trained Feyre to the Weaver, not caring that she could kill her. Just like Cassian, but Cassian himself hides deep complexes behind his ostentatious self-confidence and is in fact the most insecure man in the books. And because of his insecurities, he makes others suffer, especially Nesta. They are also all full of cruelty. Rhysand and Asriel literally enjoy the suffering of others and love torturing others, considering it something cool. Cassian massacred an entire village, including women. I very much doubt that the ENTIRE village bullied his mother. They also lack pity and compassion for others; they do not know how to admit their mistakes and apologize. Rhysand doesn't care about the pain he caused Feyre, he never even apologized to her for it. Didn't talk about how much he regrets what he did. Do you know why? He doesn't regret... He also doesn't care about the pain that women in Illyria and the Hewn City go through. Otherwise, he would have long ago tightened the laws related to cutting wings and violence, and would have imposed strict rules. He didn't do any of this. He fucking wanted to have sex in a place where victims of sexual assault lived!!! Cassian actually laughed at Nesta’s pain from falling down the stairs. He found it funny that she was in pain. Funny. He didn’t care about her condition and thought only about how to fuck her. He objectified Nesta and harassed her. And when she pushed him away, he thought only about himself and his wounded pride, feeling sorry not for Nesta, but for himself. Where does empathy fit in here? More or less, Azriel stands out from this trinity, but this is only because he is, in principle, little revealed in the plot and much cannot be said about him.
