That. Right there. A pivotal moment for Rose (upon second viewing), re-contextualizing how she’s been treating those around her exactly like the other Diamonds treated her. She had fled from it, but she’d internalized her role. Loving but condescending and hurtful all the same. She had known no other way, until someone, Greg, finally treated her as an equal.

It makes me so happy to see gay people in the west enjoying their lives and living freely

But it also makes me so sad thinking that I’m wasting my life here being anxious paranoid and afraid of almost any thing that could slip..

This is a very old drawing (2015ish). It’s from when we were first conceptualizing this standoff between Lapis and Blue Diamond. This must also be around the time we were tying down Blue’s design while we were storyboarding ‘Steven’s Dream’! These things take a long time guys. Did you know we’ve been working on a movie for over a year now??? Crazy!
