Waffle!!

Orions pov…

Biskit had never been much of a ‘suprise’ person, but he insisted on showing me something today. The sun was starting to set and I had a feeling we would be at our destination soon. Biskit always somehow knew the best spots to relax, and to be honest, I’m just glad i have him to help me get back home afterwards.

“Cmon, you’re walkin’ so slow!” Biskit laughs, wrapping his hands around my arm.

He wasn’t always the type to initiate physical touch. It caught me off guard at first, but I didn’t seem to mind. We make our way up a hill with a large willow tree at the very top, the orange hue of the sunset danced on its flowing leaves. It’s safe to assume Biskit comes here a lot considering there’s a spot under the tree where the grass is significantly shorter than the rest.

“Wow.. i’ve never watched the sunset from here before, It’s beautiful.” I muttered. It’s been quite a while since i’ve had a chance to just stop and admire one, especially from a place like here.

“I knew you’d like it!” Biskit remarked, feeling proud of himself. He guide me the long leaves out of the way,“ladies first~” . We’d both laugh

He lounges up against the tree’s trunk and pats the ground beside him, signaling for me to sit with him. Gaps of sunlight poke in through the draping vines, making various shapes on the ground. It was nice to just get away from everything for a while, all the pressure from back home was weighing down on me.

“Isn’t this better than bein’ all cooped up in your room? i know id wanna go out if i where you.” He spoke, breaking the moment of silence.

I’d turn my head to him, a bit stunned. “Is that what this is about.?”

“mmm.. Not exactly” He shrugged, still staring comfortably in front of him. “ ‘guess I just wanted to share somethin special.”

There was a small gust of wind every now and then, making the tufts of his ears move ever so slightly. The hues of sunlight made parts of his hair look almost brown. It looked soft. I’ve noticed he’s been taking care of his himself more, even if he doesn’t want to admit it, he does look exceptionally better than the first time we met.

“You okay?” He’d glance up at me, almost brushing his shoulder against mine.

“huh..? Oh, I just u-uhm..” I hadn’t notice I was staring the whole time.. Or how closely we were sitting either. I tried to give him a bit more space. “It’s nothing, i was just.. deep in thought, i suppose.”

Biskit’s eyebrows furrow. “I’m trying to stop you from overthinking y’know..” He sat up a little off of the tree. “If you have something on your head just say it. I won’t judge, prolly have heard worse anyway”

“.. Did you mean ‘on my mind’?”

“Well whatever it’s on doesn’t matter” He waved his hand. I let out a small laugh.

Looking down at my hands in my lap, I try to muster up something to sound unbothered. “It’s .. It’s just a book i read recently, i’ve been thinking about its ending.” I rest my head back, watching the horizon turn a purple hue. “I’d bore you to death with the details though, wouldn’t I?” I say, slightly smiling.

“Hm.. I guess you would.” Biskit pouts, turning his attention back to the view.

”It’s getting a bit late though.” I reply, getting up from my resting position. “We should be heading back.”

He shortly follows, stretching his arms out infront of him. sighhh.. “Alright then. At least tell me this cheered you up a bit?”

“It did.” We stood for just a while longer, taking in the last of the view. Then suddenly i hear a faint chuckle paired with a playful shove on the arm. “Last one there has to do the dishes!”. Before i even get a chance to process what was said, Kit had already started running.
