- Full name Edward Dieter Franz Richtofen.

- Born in Munich, Bavaria, Germany on December 12, 1883. 61 years old.

- Born to a Lutheran father and a Jewish mother. Father was emotionally absent, mother was strict to the point of being abusive. She belittled Edward for being too feminine, wanting to dress like a girl and having feminine hobbies, causing him to deeply repress this side of himself. His father was complacent and enabled his wife, typically ignoring his son and showing no interest in him. Growing up he was beaten frequently, causing his stunted emotional development.

- In his youth, he harmed small animals and bullied his younger sister; eventually he ‘grew out of it’ (learned to hide his sadistic behavior). He had an interest in science from a young age, and excelled academically. He was orphaned at the age of 13 after his mother passed away from cholera, when his father disappeared to avoid having to care for his children. He was sent to a separate orphanage from his sister, and never saw her again. He was never adopted, but was named in his father’s will when he passed, and inherited his house and fortune.

- As a young adult, he was jailed for homosexual activity multiple times. He attended Heidelberg University and received a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, then was drafted into World War I as a field surgeon in his 30’s. During the war, he was dishonorably discharged for mistreating his patients and performing medically unnecessary amputations. After returning home, he went on to pursue a medical degree at the Charité. He moved from Munich to Berlin in 1925, and was an active participant in its flourishing gay scene. He found work as a plastic surgeon, performing skin grafts on WWI veterans. In his early 40s Edward began working with the Illuminati (a continuation of the original Bavarian Illuminati), a secret society aiming to establish a world government.

- His cell leader assigned him to infiltrate Group 935. However, after gaining power in the organization and becoming close to Dr. Maxis, he officially left the Illuminati and dedicated himself to improving the human condition through science as a head researcher for 935. At some point Edward published a collection of research papers that shared his findings on human evolution and biology, which conflicted with the Nazi consensus on race science. His writing was deemed “un-German” and banned by the Party, and he was barred from publishing any further works. Later, when Maxis struck a deal with the Nazis, Edward was betrayed, hurt, and deeply humiliated.

- Before becoming corrupted, he was essentially the same as his Primis counterpart. More levelheaded and reserved, cold, and aloof; very uptight and prudish, and immensely prideful. Was ashamed of his sexuality, he would rather die than say the kinds of things his in-game self does. He was generally detached from other people and had a very backwards moral code (but it did exist). He saw Maxis as a close friend* and cared for Samantha like his own daughter. He was especially susceptible to the MPD’s corruption due to his preexisting mental issues and misanthropy.

- Various other traits: He is strictly homosexual and a misogynist. Psychologically he is a sadist, sexually he is a sadomasochist. He performed experiments on himself, causing him to sustain injuries and lose his left eye. He likes to keep ‘trophies’ from his victims and is particularly fond of eyes (probably due to losing one of his own). He was once an atheist, but now worships the Shadowman.
