Starting the 13th, we will have an AI determine if we are children or not and if you are a child, than you are forced to send your ID, send a selfie or a credit card

This has the obvious cons of having your privacy being revoked from you and and in case there is a security breach, major identity thefts.

So what do we do in this scenario?

Well right now I have real idea as this is relativity new to me, but I do have two plans

Plan 1. Bug the shit out of them, send letters and send emails about how much of bad idea this is.

Include why the AI will mess up and target adults who watch cartoons, include privacy issues, censorship issues, anything you can think of that relates to this. I want you guys to bug the hell out of YouTube until they reverse this idea

Plan 2. Blackout.

Since the thing is coming out on the 13th.

The plan will be to completely avoid YouTube at all cost for that day, no watching, no sharing, no uploading, no nothing.

Download videos before things go down, watch Netflix. Whatever you do, don’t touch YouTube.

That’s all I can say right now, I also want you guys to let YouTubers know of this situation cause if it’s important for everyone on the website to talk about this immediately

Not to piggyback here. But I’ll list alternatives to YouTube services, or others to combat it. But PLEASE try to resist these changes. PLEASE be careful when giving websites your private information.

We just saw the Tea app promise users to delete identification photos, only for people to find everything in a non-secured location and doxxed so many women. Never trust a company, we don’t have great privacy laws with the internet so to speak. Protect your data, your privacy, and be careful how many websites you’re giving your personal data to.

If you can avoid YouTube that day, and need help with ideas to busy yourself;

Go to a park, or a library

If you have the funds, go to an aquarium, museum, or zoo

Try a new cafe or restaurant with a friend

Patch up that pair of jeans or sweater with a hole in it. You can find tutorials unrelated to YouTube!

Use other streaming services. Or other video websites

Keep yourself away from the computer if temptation is too high. Craft, clean your space, play a video game, do yoga, go grocery shopping, etc.

And if you must use YouTube the 13th or afterwards, here what’s you can do;

Use a vpn. You can switch to any of these countries listed with minimal ad traffic; as far as I know, only UK and USA are asking for age verification atm. Proton and mallard are good vpns, but there are plenty of others too.

Try to see if apps like Newpipe will work. Unsure how these apps will be impacted, but it’s worth a shot
