I've been wanting to record my RPG playthroughs, as an exercise in writing, expression and because is a good way to work out my excitement and love about my characters and the people I play with.

For this one, meet Anthony Martins, the first he/him character I ever played! He's 27 years old, works as a cashier during the day and dedicates his nights to a supernatural oral history podcast he hosts. He is haunted by his allegedly passed away grandmother since childhood and that's the reason behind his hyper fixation in investigating and disproving the supernatural. Besides that, he's a very charismatic guy, a entertainer who's not afraid to be cringe.

Anthony has brown skin, curly brown hair and dark eyes. Even though he has a perfect vision, he wears rounded glasses that have just the blue light protection feature. His favorite shows and podcasts are Twin Peaks, The X Files, The Magnus Archives and The Memory Place. He also really enjoys authors like Baudelaire, Poe and Augusto dos Anjos. His podcast is called "By a Whisker" and he scripts it on every media available, paper, phone, laptop and tape recorder, very à la Cooper. When he has time, he also enjoys photography and swimming.

His grandmother Luiza had a very adventurous life, traveled everywhere and worked all kind of jobs. When Anthony was little, they had a very close relationship that blossomed with stories shared between them, but this same habit became a trauma. Luiza started to show symptoms of schizophrenia along other physical health problems and Anthony's parents decided to move her in. It was then that her stories became dark, with a touch of premonition.

She would tell him about horrible experiences with the supernatural, the ones she had and the ones he would. Until now, none of them came true, except for one: one day the family was driving to a destination lost in Anthony's memories, he and his grandma on the backseat, when she grabbed his neck, pulling his ear close to her mouth.

More than a decade later, that same spot they drove by became a dance club. He decided to go, to prove to himself words can only be heard, not conjure things from nowhere. He invited a friend, Helena, told her this silly creepy story and there they went. Of course there was a fire.

More determined than ever to process this experience as a coincidence, an accident, he started to focus more and more on his podcast, where he interviewed people who had experienced the supernatural and investigated the logic of these stories. He always found reason to dismiss the ghosts and horrors in them, easing his mind.

One of these guests, a woman called Liza who claimed to see dead people, accepted Anthony's idea to seek out the supernatural himself. They were following one of Luiza's premonitions to the extreme south, when their travel bus ended up on a nameless city that was always there when they tried to leave.

The plot of this campaign is basically the premise of the TV show From, the GM is using an adapted version of a narrative focus system called Devastated Land (Terra Devastada), not translated to english yet. It's a system made for apocalyptic scenarios, like The Walking Dead. It uses attributes chosen by the player to set a situational pool of D6 for tests and sanity points to measure our trauma level.

On that bus we have the other player characters and some important NPCs:

Anthony is traveling with Liza, his supernatural guide and a player character. His friend and DJ Helena, former player character and now NPC, one of the fire survivors. He also has the help of the NPC Ícaro, an Advertising and Propaganda graduate making a portfolio with Anthony's growing work.

In that bus he also met a high school friend again, Sabrina a player character with an athlete skating career. They broke into an abandoned haunted house once. The siblings Elis and Miguel are also there, both player characters that seemed to already know Helena and Sabrina. Off scene he learns that Elis is a non practicing doctor and Miguel a therapist.

We all used real people images to represent our characters and established connections and characters opinions on each other in session zero. I intend to reveal them along with Anthony's acknowledgement of them.

Luiza's horrific stories are inspired by the creepy pasta of Setealém, a place of entities sometimes accessible by our daily transportation methods.
