prototype-shooter

a bare bones prototype shooter game I made with lua and love2d

THIS IS THE READ ME.TXT

To play or use my prototype you'll have to install the lov2d frameworks. install love.08.0-win-x86 if you are using a 32 bit windows pc. install love.08.0-win-x64 if you are using a 64 bit windows pc. install love.08.0-ub  if you are using a mac os-x ub stands for Universal Build. install love_0.0.8.0-opreise1_i386.deb if you are using Ubuntu – 32-bit 12.04. install love_0.0.8.0-opreise1_amd64.deb if you are using Ubuntu – 64-bit 12.04. Now if you installed love2d on your pc you should now see the love frameworks splash screen.  All you have to do now is double click on prototype shooter or drag prototype shooter to the framework amd it should start up right away. At this point all you can do is move around on the screen . I know this isn’t a wow factor or anything but it’s a start  if you like you can try and build on tops of my project but it’s messy i'm not the strongest programer.

update log. prototype shooter updated  to prototype shooter 0.0.0.1 updates in 0.0.0.1 A collision detection, hero now stays with in the game screen, its not prefect but it works for now  freatureS. -yOU can move with up down left right with keys -has a space like motion when moving

So I testing SDL for the first time using lazy foo Tutorials. Compared to any lua engines/api's, SDL is overwhelming. look at this code this is just to post up a image on a screen.

So I was trying to make a switch that would loop if you didn't press 1, 2 or 3. For  some reason I cant get it to work right?   This is what I got so far, If I get this to work right I could actually make my  Fahrenheit and Celsius Converter code somewhat fancy and more complex.

So i finish chapter 1 of  beginning c++ through game programming  and at the end of the chapter it had a exercises

So A friend ask me to make a Fahrenheit and Celsius Converter  to lp me lear c++ so this is my attempt

I have a long way to go before I start making any type of game in c++

 I have decided to put pokeAdot and lua aside to start learning C++. I just bought Beginning C ++Through Game Programming. I hope to finish the book within a month, but most likely it will take two. I've also gotten ahead of myself and started looking for game engines/frameworks and so far I found Cocos2d-x the most appealing. I am going to research other c++ game engines when I finish reading the book. Also, I'm looking around for some podcasts on game development and c++, so if anyone knows any good podcasts that might satisfy my needs, I would really appreciate it if you list them.

I know that no one care but I'm working on my game for android devices and Idevices using lua and corona. As of now I'm calling the game PokAdot It will be a simple free game, objective of the game is to remove all the blue dots by pressing on them with out pressing the  smaller red dots. pretty simple and some what like some screen mashers out on the market already but with some twist.

Nothing to fancy but this is my first real attempt at developing an app. I'll try to add as much functions and logistics as I can but I'm still in the learning phase of everything.
