Hey Samsung? Whose bright fucking idea was this
Got my Samsung Galaxy S25+
Picked it up from JB HiFi (Geelong)
Yoooooo 🙌🙌😎✨️
...well that's concerning.
In trying to attach a picture from my phone to a Tumblr post, and when I couldn't find that picture in the Tumblr app's native photo search, I went on a search through my phone pictures, and while I found the picture, I had to download it to get it on the actual phone, and thus on the post.
This was a picture taken with that phone's own camera. Why is the picture only in the cloud, and is there a way to change the setting so my photos are actually ON the phone?
(I wouldn't mind having backups on for my pictures to the cloud / Google drive, but I want those pictures to be accessible on my actual phone, no internet connection required. It's the idea of pictures ONLY being in the CLOUD that's bothering me here. I don't trust Google's cloud service to keep them safe for me forever.)
It's an Android, I believe it's Android 11 if that matters? (Yes it's old. The phone still works fine, it's just Google I keep having problems with. lP )
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to try copying all of my phone pictures to an external device for my own safe keeping, because I very much do not want Google's cloud to hold the only copies of those pictures!
dear tech people of Tumblr,
a setting i previously had disabled has reactivated, & i can't find it to turn it back off. because i hate it so much. does anyone know where i haven't looked?
my phone (Android) screen keeps waking up when i pick it up. it doesn't unlock, but i shouldn't be able to see the lock screen unless i hit the power button. every time i pick up my phone, it wakes up the screen, & i end up pressing buttons. i turned this off specifically because i tend to pick up my phone however, & i would like it not do anything until i hit the power button — you know, like a normal device! that doesn't make me wanna kill something!
i'm not the smartest when it comes to technology, so i'm hoping i just missed something super obvious that i can fix. also, i can't be the only one who hates it, so there has to be someone out there who's come up with a work-around... surely.
