there are few times where the fandom is completely united in opinion/content, like there is often so much Discourse, etc. but July 9th is one of those wonderfully rare times everyone just comes together and is like yes, last kiss, a masterpiece. we will discuss nothing else but this on this random day Taylor mentioned on an album track from 2010. bless y’all 

so sort of a fun fact I had a film minor in college and we learned about what different shots/directions of actors’/models’ faces mean. Anyways in the old version, she’s looking back (physically and metaphorically she’s looking back on childhood and adolescence) and then in the new version she’s looking forward (to owning her own music and the rest of her career) so there’s some cool symbolism in flipping the direction she’s looking even though it’s just a really subtle change
