Because usually when I see content of a ship I don't like, I will either scroll or just block the tag if it keeps popping up. there is no valid reason to act passive aggressive towards a pairing that doesn't click to you.

Being uncomfortable with it is valid tho but don't go looking for the ship and spreading your distaste for it, you can do that in your own space, if it annoys you that much, then like I said

fire spirit being phoenix coded is such a good headcanon and not only that, but heavily implied too. a lot of his themes of immortality, rebirth etc. directly correlate to one and it definitely makes more sense than for him to just be dragon like, also his crk costume, "wings of fire", points this out, sarcastically asking "dragon? do i look like a dragon to you?"

phoenixes are famous for its cycle of rebirth from ashes, symbolizing immortality and renewal and lives for centuries (e.g., 500-1000 years), builds a nest, ignites itself in flames, and is reborn from its own ashes as a young bird. yknow who else literally does ts? fire spirit, especially in his immortal cataclysm costume.

gosh i need to talk about my A Cycle of Rebirth! AU soon, fs being phoenix would make cataphyrveil (cataclyst x zephyr x veil) all have bird imagery and the fact they all represent freedom in their own unique ways, also the whole cycle thing… its just them, zephyr = life, veil = death and cataclyst = rebirth, you cannot separate them. my fuckass polycule that unironically is the only way that can get me to shipping firewind (sorta? at least my interpretation of then)

the bird is also said to regenerate when hurt or wounded by a foe, thus being almost immortal and invincible, a symbol of fire and divinity and is often depicted as being consumed by flames and rising from the ashes. YOU KNOW ELSE TS SOUNDS LIKE-

actually very glad they are pushing wind archer being the eldest and also not the best brother/parental figure into canon like thats an old man who had to raise a god so powerful that one step outside the forest could bring it to complete emptiness and death of all life

wind archer cares so much but he fails at one thing and thats just how emotionally distant he can be at times

he genuinely does not have any free time, no hobbies that doesn't relate to his mission, is a loner and that deeply affects his relationships with others

he can't stay in one place, he's always there to finish a job and bid farewell before going on to do the next, over and over. Its a routine he's gotten so used to atp that even fs starts to show genuine concern for his well being.

he overworks himself to a point he thinks its normal for him to go days without rest, he unintentionally pushes others away bc of how devoted he is, thinking its his whole life purpose is to protect and guard, nothing more, nothing less

hes always there when others need him to be but not emotionally, its not even because he doesn't daf, he really does, he just doesn't know how to express it

wind archers lack of individuality is so important for me bc it just highlights how much expectations he puts on himself and others, he expects others to do what he does and no one ever mentions it

his interactions with fs are always a joy to me bc of their compelling and contrasting dynamic

they are what the other doesn't want to be

fs doesn't want to feel like he's trapped in a single box, deprived of freedom and forced to uphold duties he never wanted to even have, to have so many high expectations put on him to a point he feels like its needed by others rather than wanted by him.

meanwhile wa can't even begin to imagine the thought of not protecting others, to act selfish and brash towards others, to fail at his duty. he would finally have the freedom of being devoid of the expectations of others but at the cost would have to sacrifice his mission for a life he needs.

ive been a wind archer fan (2022) before i even found out about tumblr and even far before his release in kingdom. ive read through his stories so many times that i have his lore memorized, written essays and analyses centered around his character and my own personal interpretation of him.

yet i have never shipped him once with fire spirit. why? well...
