ive been a wind archer fan (2022) before i even found out about tumblr and even far before his release in kingdom. ive read through his stories so many times that i have his lore memorized, written essays and analyses centered around his character and my own personal interpretation of him.

yet i have never shipped him once with fire spirit. why? well...

funfact: in my kingdom i always see fire spirit following him around like a helpless puppy because wherever truthless recluse is near, fire spirit is around the corner or legit just walking next to him.

I like it! It makes sense if you think about it and how it shapes both of their characters.

smilk being described as "fragile" and turning into a literal paper puppet when you pick him up, even as the fount of knowledge, in his gacha animation we only see him hovering (if you exclude his statues where he's standing up straight)

I always thought he used his staff as a cane, same with how pv uses his as a way to see. Maybe when he was baked, he was a bit crumbly or "fragile" and that's why the witches gave him a staff, then when he learned magic, flying became his primary way of walking without his staff.

dark moon magic couldve also played a part in this, since I think the fount was taught about magic by the witches and the one who introduced magic to earthbread, but due to it being a destructive and dangerous way of magic, it could have worsen his well being, since always using it leads to dire consequences. Both physically, emotionally and mentally.

Since apparently dark moon magic "requires the highest price of the user in return." But what kind of price it could be talking about? Its unclear but I have my ideas.

windy is seen always upholding his duties as both a vanquisher of darkness and as a guardian of life. In ovenbreak, in order to shoot the fallen spirits, you have to slide down and hold before releasing, over and over. Add that and the fact he doesn't know how to lay back and relax, he's bound to have some sort of chronic pain in his arms or legs.

I can relate to this as I also have chronic pain in my left hand (whenever I try to stretch) and like to cope by giving archie the same thing but with his whole right arm. If you look at some of my art of him, I gave him green bandages (similar to white lily) due to injuries with some that heal over time and some that don't.

Applying this to jestergem and you get two people who get to bond over similar pains (both physical and emotional), I think they could understand each other better the more they talk to one another, without the animosity and the whole being on opposite sides of war.. I love making them have an on and off situationship since it gives them more freedom to just hang out without a care in the world and also because they would both be new to the whole relationship thing.

They aren't fully dating because of shadow milks trust issues and wind archers commitment issues but I think it makes sense for both of them to not fall into the typical couple ideology. They can both be independent without having to relying on the other. Wind archer doesn't have to "fix him" since shadow milk should be the one fixing himself, doesn't mean wind archer cant/wont be there when he needs him but he doesn't have to be the sole bearer of helping smilk.

They can be content in their own way, they can be loving in their own way. They don't have to fall into one quadrant. They can be enemies, rivals, lovers, friends etc. And it should not change their whole personality or have them revolve around each other.

You can have the beasts have a redemption arc but at least try to make it seem natural for them to sometimes fall back onto old habits. They need to realize their faults on their own rather than having people dictate what they should do. Then maybe, they can reach out to others, healing shouldn't need to be "one solely fixes the others problems", it can be where one helps the other by giving moral support and helping them when they need it the most. You don't have to always be there for someone to be a good friend, you should also be mindful and give them some space to figure things out in their own ways. Try to help when you know they can't do it on their own anymore. Relationships are two sided for a reason.

Its genuinely just insane, the whole time I was watching I was on my toes and so skeptical, ESPECIALLY when the NPC revealed his name as "Abel", there was just no way.

THE WHOLE JAX SEQUENCE WAS WILD AS WELL. he was this close to abstracting. The flashes of his memories(?) were pretty interesting as well.

I need to learn more about the one sided beef Caine has with Kinger... Hell, I just want to learn more about Kinger, period.

Also love the interactions they had this episode, I was honestly just happy to see Pomni and Ragatha together lol

Caine was so frustrating yet I can't bring myself to hate him, my king of making things worse for himself /lh

Overall a 9/10 episode, the visuals, voice acting and etc. were phenomenal as always, though that abrupt end nearly made me fall out my bed.
