They both have a similar story & when I see these women post so confidently knowing that they were probably bullied for something they couldn't control.. It honestly lifted my spirits. I said if they can, why can't I? You know?

When I was around 3/4 years old, in preschool. An incident took place where another child scratched my eye with a pencil. Ever since that day, I've never seen from my two eyes again. I don't even remember what that feels like.

I got bullied & talked about my entire life. I had to become strong so I won't break down & cry every single day. My confidence was so low. I was embarrassed that my eye is the way it is. I didn't care about my appearance growing up because I thought I was ugly.

When I started university, I decided to invest in myself more & I got glasses but it was in 2020, I said to myself "I'm going to level up & nothing is holding me back!"

I'm only 23 now & it just got easier. It isn't something I can ignore but I have to accept it. My eyes being this way doesn't make me any less beautiful. It doesn't make me any less smart.

I guess you only realize these things with time because the way I carry myself now; people always compliment me. They even say they like my eyes (which is always a surprise to me). I'm grateful that this is a version of me who loves her entire self, the way I needed to when I was a child.
