When Zayn and Liam adopt Cody, an older rescue dog whose previous owner has passed away, they expect to spend his golden years giving him a comfortable home.
What they don't expect is to inherit pieces of another life. An old letter, a favourite bakery and a bench overlooking the river. Familiar routines that Cody refuses to forget. As they follow in the pawprints of the man who loved him first, Zayn and Liam slowly come to know Arthur through the ordinary moments he shared with his best friend.
Told across two intertwining timelines, a story about grief, second chances, and the remarkable way dogs carry love from one family to the next. Because a dog's heart is never divided, it simply grows large enough to hold everyone who has ever called it home.
