I had to have everything a very specific way that if it wasn’t I would be unable to function (this has lessened as I’ve gotten older, I am a mess now)

I collected a lot of shit like rocks, stickers, that kind of stuff

I had to follow every rule there was, any signs were listened to, unless it was stupid then I ignored them

a multitude of sensory issues

weird one but all of my clothes were chewed, hair was chewed, bed was chewed,nails were chewed, everything was chewed, since I was a very small child till I was like 12 and got that forced out of me by shaming

You're allowed to love things intensely and be passionate about them

like, sure, I don't mind eating a lil snack or drinking something tasty, BUT it annoys me that I have to do that in order to live.

like, I can't have little treats all the time, no, I have to eat regular meals, because otherwise the body will get upset. and most of the times, the body will also get upset if you eat something in particular, because it's dramatic like that

I like sweet fizzy drinks, but I gotta drink way more than I would like to in order to stay hydrated. and best way to do so is to drink water & that does NOT spark joy, the flavor usually is off, boring and annoying. not to mention if you drink enough, you gotta go to the bathroom so often, such an annoyance

Twenty years later and you still can't use cell phones on flying airplanes.

Twenty years later- some thoughts

Laurie's pot use is now perfectly legal, seeing as she lives in D.C.

Donna's eating a Yoplait, which I've never noticed before.

Leo would be pissed at the growth of instant replay in sports.

Riding a bicycle into a tree would be a pleasant change from the current president's blunders.

The main story of this episode is about Josh saying something dumb on tv that insulted people. This would no longer be noteworthy, though late night and the pundits might've had fun with it. But certainly Josh wouldn't have to fear a firing.

D.C. traffic isn't this light ever, and drivers at K and 17 do stupider things daily. I doubt Mandy would get pulled over for what she did.

Do people really have those girls' confidence to just go up to famous people in public?

We're still fighting over assault rifles.

I wonder how the mixed up pagers thing would go today? With cell phones, there's no way they wouldn't figure it out earlier.

The Bartlet abortion thing has never rung true to me. I can't see Abbey having ever supported him doing that.

Even with her job, how on earth would she afford such an apartment on her own? I think modern Laurie would have roommates, even if she's one of the older law students (a lot of law students are closer to 26 when they start than 22- Laurie might be close to 30 in this)

There's no way Sam wouldn't know about Leo's daughter. There's just no way. Also he would have just googled it (and the White House's history). Also, this wasn't the most believable plot point in the first place.

Pornography on street corners is the last problem anyone is worrying about, given the internet, but I can see sex-ed still being important.

Bartlet still has the best entrance on any character on the show.

That his granddaughter is 12 is interesting given that Zoey is either 19 or 17. How early did Liz have her? Also, considering the protections Bartlet has erected around his kids and the press, I'm surprised Annie gave an interview for a teen mag.

For all its inconsistencies and the bits and bobs that don't make sense, I still love this show. I don't know how many times I've watched it in the past twenty years, or how many I'll watch it in the 20 to come, but it remains an incredible look at what politics could be, if only our leaders reached for the stars with love for their fellow humans and the world in their hearts.

Oh this is one of the best things that could've happened and at the exact right time.

All those racist people who never cared about basketball and just jumped on the CC bandwagon to shit on a Black girl and a predominantly Black organization are acting Iike they've been betrayed and are LEAVING the W fandom! I couldn't be happier.
