And this sounds very confusing because the numbers are just being switched. That's just a coincidence because the starting asking price was $25/hr and now we're going from a 40 hr work week to 24 hr.

So to make this clearer, I'll use the number I want for minimum wage in a 40hr work well. $30/hr

We're decreasing from 40 hrs to 24 hrs. So that's 60%. Or 40 is 1.6 times higher than 24.

So if I want minimum wage to be $30/hr based on a 40 hr work week. I need to increase the minimum wage by a factor of 1.6 do get the same weekly outcome. That's $50/hr.

In short. 6 hr work days. 4 day work week. And minimum wage at $50/hr is what we want.

Also, I think you'd find if you decreased the work week so significantly, a lot of disabled people will be able to hold down that reduced work load which would get more people in the labor market.

"But how are we supposed to get anything done if we decrease the work well by half?" The work week was set during a time where most women weren't even allowed to work. Our labor market literally doubled since women started entering the workforce. Which has doubled the amount of work two income household's have because they're both holding down 40 hr work weeks and household tasks still need to get done. It only makes sense to decrease the work week to account for this change so that people can keep getting shit done at home.
