Sometimes, the bad things that happen to you don't teach a lesson. They only traumatize you. It is okay if you can't find a life long lesson after being hurt so deeply. Sometimes, trauma is all that a survivor has to show for what happened to them. And if this is your case, know that it is not your fault, but the blame is all upon your abuser.
