i feel like im bad at answering asks its just sometimes idk what to say
I'd love to hear your thoughts on The Body Snatcher if you have any!
I LOVE IT! I’ve only watched it a handful of times, but each time, I’ve been starstruck by its CLEARLY queer characters/script. I love Gray; I loveeee how openly queer he seems to be. I’ve definitely got a soft spot for Karloff’s queer/androgynous characters, so he’s always so fun to watch in The Body Snatcher
I recently posted (some of) my queer headcanons on instagram for pride month! Gray was one of the many characters in the post. <3

How about you, what are your favorite ways to make characters?
I can't say I have a favorite way of creating characters but my usual process is to just start with a concept and then design the character around it, my favorite characters to design are definitely old men of all varieties, I love drawing big scruffy beards and clean shaven narrow faces, and I love drawing hooked noses as equally as I love drawing sharp straight ones, it all depends on the vibe that I'm going for the concept of the character themselves. I think the best example of this is with my latest character Nicholas, when I first drew him he was just some detective, but when I developed his personality further it started to reflect more in his design, he was always an old man but when I figured out what exactly was causing him stress the increase of grey in his hair reflected that and Nic is generally just unkempt personality wise and so that reflected in how he dresses with loose ties and half tucked shirts.
Sorry about the awful quality but here is my first ever drawing of him besides my most recent, he hasn't changed that much honestly!

How did you get into Classic Horror/Boris Karloff? I’m a bit new to your blog; apologies if you’ve explained before!
Answering this is a bit funny because I feel like compared to most, the way I got into classic horror was so random and weird, I'd always had an interest in Karloff's portrayal of Frankenstein's monster far before I'd ever even seen the film or read the novel. But I didn't really get into it or develop an interest in classic horror itself until I'd seen my favorite characters from an animated show I was watching dress up as Frankenstein's monster and Dracula for a halloween special, I don't why but it really sparked up that interest for me again and the more I got into classic horror the more I became obsessed with the genre and especially Karloff.
There's still a lot of stuff I haven't seen so if you have any recommendations I'd really appreciate it!
What are your thoughts on The Black Room (1935)? That one’s my favorite…
I think it's a brilliant film! I went into it blind and it surprised me quite a bit to see just how diabolical Karloff could be, I feel like what sets Gregor apart from some of Karloff's other villain roles is that he's just so terrifyingly realistic in it.. Especially when compared to his twin Anton, who is shown to be nothing but caring and kind. I also love how even though they share the same face and the same voice you can tell right away just by looking at the two how different they are in manner and attitude.
I think one of my favorite scenes in the film is when Gregor is mimicking Anton while looking at his reflection in the walls of the black room.. He's just so arrogant I adore it.
Here's a sketch of Gregor as a thank you for the asks!
