the vampire Magnus is so unnerving to look at because for two seasons there's this sort of code that someone's eyes become super incredibly light and colourful when they get turned and there's this whole thing about how they have to hide their eyes with sunglasses and haha. then Magnus shows up and his eyes are pitch black. I got jumpscared
There's something I need to get off my chest.
So I haven't watched any of S3 of "The Vampire Lestat," except for the gifs of this dark-haired violator with his fledgling, both of them bloody and beautiful. Yet seeing this actor (who is very new to me) accumulating the aura of Magnus in his own way... He's actually quite beautiful. Of course, many people would disagree.
To the plain, boring eye, he's not what you'd call conventionally handsome, but I am of the opinion that unique faces are the most mesmerizing. His deep eyes, pointed chin, and peculiar nose seem perfectly in tune to the angle of his sharp cheekbones. Even in that grotesque makeup, he has an odd and appealing look to him that is rather inviting.
You don't know whether or not to be disgusted or entranced by his features in that makeup, but Damien (that's his name, right?) is superb and I just wanted to give him a shout-out. And from what I've seen spoiler-wise on here, his Magnus reminds me of how hungry human nature can be: despondent, destructive, and sadomasochistic in the darkest aspects. Or in this case, inhuman and immoral with a dash of contemplation.
I honestly can't wait to see on what I'm missing out on.
