Black-bird

I finished the game last weekend. 

- Connor. That boy is too pure. I love him. His idealistic drive is how he won me over unreservedly. Of the series I have played, he is my favorite, even if we didn’t get to spend as much time with him as Ezio. Literally because he has such an innocent and well-meaning heart, even when he’s killing people. Ohmygosh, I love him.

- Haytham didn’t even explain how he knew Connor was his son, or that he knew his name. AND I STILL THINK IT’S WEIRD! 

- Homestead life - so pure. 

- I AM CAPTAIN OF THE SEVEN SEAS AND WILL BLOW YOUR SHIP TO PIECES!!!

- Why is the Captain Kidd outfit so weird?

- Father/Son missions with Haytham being all uppity were great. How am I aligning with what Haytham’s saying about the Templars? It makes logical sense, but geez… only if you’re the one in power I guess.

- I was not supposed to want Connor and Haytham to reconcile! BUT I DID! And then all the sad! :(

- Yes, give me more top-knot Connor. Damn. DAMN.

- George Washington is a dick. The founding fathers are all dicks. That French man seemed nice though, invited me to Paris and everything. 

- I hope after Connor went on all those naval missions and saw all those places that he went home and shared stories around the campfire with his tribesmen. Because that would just… blow his mind and everyone else’s! Such vastly different environments and he gets to captain this ship and it’s so much bigger than everything else they’ve known. Mind-blowing.

- I couldn’t give two fucks about the whole doomsday/goddess battle crap.

- I also hate how there’s no HUD when you’re in the ‘real world.’ 

- This is the first AC game that made me want to read an AC book. I need more Haytham/Connor backstory or interactions. NEED it. Ugh. The sad is always worse when you know it’s going to happen but still find yourself hoping it doesn’t. 

- THE DUAL-HANDED COMBAT SYSTEM! I hate using guns because they take so f-ing long to reload, so give me the swordiest sword that ever sworded and my trusty tomahawk and ohgeez. So satisfying.

- Connor’s VA is amazing. He comes across as so emotionally invested and quiet and it’s.just.wonderful. I could listen to his cadence all freaking day.
