Starting this course, I didn’t know what to expect. However, my objectives were to design and make stuff. I did achieve my objective from the hands-on workshop (it was really nice to stay away from technology) and Ask Me Anything project.
I have discovered lots of historical art and design movements but I found Memphis Group more interesting as it has some really cool design for objects. A lot of skills were introduced to me during the workshop as Karen and Andy had made it very hand-ons which I found fun. Also, I find curatorial very exciting as we get to see how well we work as a group to make an exhibition work in such a short time. Sergei Sviatchenko's collages have inspired me by how simple it looks yet how the collages work so well together.
Finally, the activity of finding letterforms on everyday objects had made me think differently about design, it made me pay more attention to my surroundings and help me realise that there is no definition for design and it is everywhere.
Thank you Andy and Karen for inspiring all of us with your passion for design!
